Brother and Sister

Brother of 5th grade and Sister of 2nd grade

On a day when naked tree branches

Shaking violently

Blizzard blowing

Over a mountain pass

To school

A long

Ten-mile journey

Only one pair

Of fur gloves

Brother wears it on his left hand

Sister wears it on her right hand

Brother's right hand and sister's left hand

Without fur gloves

Holding each other tightly

Putting them in brother's pocket

Step by step

As they walk briskly

The school is seen

Before they know it

Old smokes from the classroom stove

Faintly rising plump-plump

옷 벗은 나뭇가지가

세게 흔들리고

눈보라까지 휘날리는 날

산 고개 넘어

학교까지

먼

십 리 길

한 켤레밖에 없는

털장갑

오빠는 왼손

누이는 오른손에 끼고

털장갑 끼지 않은

오빠 오른손과 누이 왼손

서로 꼭 잡아

오빠 호주머니 속에 넣고

한 걸음 한 걸음

힘차게 걸어가다 보면

어느새 학교가 보입니다

교실 난로 연기가 몽실몽실 피어오릅니다
