SCHD has had a great year, but we believe that investors who buy it today are paying a price that the income doesn’t justify. The distributions have almost stopped growing at the exact moment when the Fed started raising rates again. A yield of around 3% is simply not enough when the 10-year Treasury pays more than 5%. On top of that, the energy and health care holdings face risks of their own in the following months. Because of that and the fact that our model shows an intrinsic value below the current price, we believe that giving SCHD a rating of Sell makes the most sense at this stage.
첫댓글 I believe that an investment portfolio that uses the Schwab U.S. Dividend Equity ETF (SCHD) as a core element to build the strategic foundation of a portfolio and that is enhanced by individual companies with attractive risk-reward profiles and that offer both income and dividend growth potential can bring excellent long-term results and important benefits for investors. For example, investors can benefit from steadily increasing dividends and better position their portfolio against inflation due to the dividend growth potential of the portfolio.
