1. A passenger checking a laundry bag that had been left on a bus was surprised to find it contained this monkey, which had been abandoned in London, UK. The female common marmoset, who was stressed and dehydrated, was passed to the RSPCA. Nicknamed Oyster after the London transport payment system, she is now healthy and living in a sanctuary with specialist primate facilities. 2. A gazelle pauses while galloping through Kızılkuyu national park in Şanlıurfa, Turkey. The species is protected due to the risk of extinction, with conservation efforts helping to support its population in the region. 4. A yellowjacket wasp pauses to groom itself while feeding on the carcass of a northern Pacific rattlesnake in Oregon, US. The snake was probably struck by a vehicle. Although hawks, eagles, kingsnakes, coyotes and bobcats occasionally prey on rattlesnakes, roadside carrion is rapidly recycled by insects and other scavengers. 5. A mugger crocodile - so named not because it will steal your phone, but from the Hindi word for crocodile, magar – walks near a waterhole at Yala national park, Sri Lanka. 6. A Sri Lankan leopard rests at Yala national park, Sri Lanka. # Krishan Kariyawasam/NurPhoto/Shutterstock 스리랑카 표범이 스리랑카 얄라 국립공원에서 휴식을 취하고 있다. 7. A jumping spider in Erbil, Iraq. Known for its large eyes and exceptional vision, the jumping spider catches its prey with swift leaps rather than by spinning webs. Harmless to humans, this species feeds on flies and other small insects. 8. A rare glimpse of a young puffin emerging from its nest at Dancing Ledge, Dorset, UK. For the first time in 30 years, volunteers monitoring the puffin colony in Purbeck have a confirmed sighting of a puffling. The youngster was peeping out from a deep crevice on the cliff, where the last breeding colony of puffins on mainland England’s south coast is clinging to survival. 10. A European polecat makes its way across a river at night in Aberystwyth, UK. The polecat has been heavily persecuted, and the last refuge of pure polecats was in the mid-Wales area. They are now more widespread across the UK, and are interbreeding with ferrets, which are the domesticated form. 11. A northern pacific rattlesnake curls into a defensive posture after being discovered near a home and relocated to a remote area in rural southwestern Oregon, US. Adults can exceed 1.5 meters in length, though most are considerably smaller. The venomous snakes play an important role in controlling rodent populations and generally avoid conflict, relying on camouflage and their distinctive warning rattle rather than aggression when left undisturbed. 15.
