DAVIES Ann Obituary
DAVIES, Barbara Ann
It is with the saddest of hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved sister and friend Barbara Davies. On March 16, 2024, Barbara fell asleep in death after a lengthy battle with Cancer at the Irene Thomas Hospice in Delta, B.C. She was born in Vancouver in October 1950 and spent a good portion of her life in Delta, BC. She spent several decades as a diligent receptionist for the Corporation of Delta's Municipal Hall.
Barbara was predeceased by her parents Thomas and Eleanor Davies, and her brothers Evan (Maryanne) and William (Deborah) Davies. She is survived by her brother Tommy Davies, her nephew, nieces, and many other beloved family members.
In addition to her family, Barbara will be greatly missed by her close friends who surrounded her with love and care always, but especially during her final weeks. Barbara will also be missed by many other friends that loved her dearly, in her local congregation and across Canada and the United States.
"Barb" or "Barbie," as she was affectionately known, was a beautiful person, full of life, laughter and love. Her zest for life was seen in her enjoyment of everything she did...a simple walk whether alone or with a friend, traveling, sharing meals with friends, savouring a nice glass of wine, or sitting by the ocean in quiet reflection. While her joyful disposition was admired by many, it was her loving spirit that will be missed most. She was caring, kind and gentle to adults and children alike. Barbara was faithful and zealous as one of Jehovah's Witnesses for most of her life. In her younger years, her self-sacrificing love and strong faith motivated her to become a full-time servant of Jehovah in Quebec. She spent her time there teaching people about the Bible based hope she had of living on a paradise earth, forever, in perfect health and peace (Revelation 21:4). Even in her final weeks Barbara's strength, determination, faith and love of life shone through. She will be greatly missed!
We would like to send a very special thank you to ALL the staff at Irene Thomas Hospice for your outstanding care, compassion, and support towards Barbara and those who loved her. Our gratitude can never fully be expressed, but please accept our deepest appreciation for everything you've done.
It was Barbara's wishes that no service be held.
