1 This letter is from Paul, a prisoner for preaching the Good News about Christ Jesus, and from our brother Timothy.

 I am writing to Philemon, our beloved co-worker,

   소통하고자 하는 목적상 우리끼리는 상식적으로 성경에 쓰여진 발음대로 해야 통하므로 좋고

   영어 듣기를 할 때는 영어 발음으로 해야 되지만 영어로 쓸 일은 없다 보이므로

    잘 안 굴려지는 원어 발음을 구태여 구사해야 될 성싶지 않다 사료됨

3 May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you [grace and peace].

  세상의 여러 gods 신들 중에서 유일하신 true God 참 하나님이시다는 의미에 더하여

  구약에서도 성자 하나님과 (사 9:6, 잠 6:4) 성신 하나님이 여러 번 언급되었듯 (겔 36:26, 요엘 2:28)

  신약에서 성자 하나님께서 오셨다 가시면서 성령 하나님을 보내신 것으로 세 분 하나님이 계신 것을 드러내셨고

  동시에 (요 10:30) 나와 아버지는 하나이다 하심으로 세 분 하나님께서 혼연일체 한분이신 것을 보여주셨으나

  신명기의 '단 한분'이시다는 말씀을 숫자적으로 단 한분으로 이해/오해한 바리새인들이

  하나님을 볼 수도 없는 피조물 인간이 정의한 하나님의 정의에 어긋난다하여 성육신 하신 예수님을

  신성 모독자로 처단했는데 현실적으로 인간의 정의/기준에 하나님께서 맞추어지실 수 없으시기에 (해품달처럼)

  하나님께서는 모세에게 I am who I am. 나는 자존자라고 말씀하셨다 보는데

  같은 피조물은 강아지가 인간인 주인이 육체 뿐만 아니라 영혼도 있다는 사실을 모르듯 우리도 하나님을 잘 모르나

  성경에 드러내신 말씀을 통하여 어렴풋이 이해는 하는 정도라 보면 very good, all good, good enough인데

   바울은 굳이 삼위일체라는 표현을 쓰지 않고 단지 성부 하나님과 성자 하나님 그리고 성령 하나님을 언급했듯

  우리도 세분 하나님께서 동시에 한분이신것만 믿고 알면 그만이다 보는 건

   눈에 안 보이는 전기도 빛과 열이 혼합되어 있지만 모르고도 조심해서 잘만 쓰면 그만이다 사실이 동의한다

4 I always thank my God /when I pray for you, Philemon,

5 because I keep hearing about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all of God’s people.

as you understand and experience [all the good things () we have in Christ].

6 Thank You, Father, for Philemon. 빌레몬을 인하여 하나님 아버지께 감사드립니다

7 Your love has given me much joy and comfort, my brother, 

for your kindness has often refreshed [the hearts of God’s people].

신약에서는 사랑이란 용어가 대부분의 경우 인류애/agape가 사용되었고 그 형용사형은 아가페토스이다. 

신약에서 아가파오(사랑하다-to love)는 용어가 146회 사용되었고
아가페  즉 애정이나 자비심, 특히 복수로 사랑의 잔치, 애찬, 친애하는 등의 뜻으로 사용된 곳이 116회 정도로 나타난다. 

아가페토스는 사랑하는(극진히, 매우), 친애하는 등으로 사용되었는데 

이는 형용사형으로 쓰여졌고 그 빈도는 신약 성경 중에서 63회가 사용되었다.

10 I appeal /to you /to show kindness to my child, Onesimus. 

I became his father in the faith /while here in prison.

He is more than a slave, for he is a beloved brother, especially to me.

17 So if you consider me your partner, welcome him as you would welcome me.

18 If he has wronged you /in any way or owes you anything, charge it to me.
