08/15/2026     토요일성경읽기: 시편 91-93; 로마서 15:1-13찬송가: 213(통348)하나님 사랑을 실천하기브랜든의 아버지는 50대에 암으로 죽음을 앞두고 있었습니다. 브랜든은 아버지를 돌볼 수 있게 부모를 설득해 함께 살자고 했습니다. 아버지는 열대 기후를 좋아했지만 이제는 그런 곳으로 더 이상 여행을 할 수 없었습니다. 그래서 브랜든은 창의적인 생각을 해냈습니다. 자기 집 뒤뜰에 연못을 만들어 물고기를 키우고 바위를 타고 물이 흘러내리게 했습니다. 그리고 바다 모래를 세 트럭이나 실어 나르고 바나나 나무와 조명과 대나무 횃불과 그늘막도 만들었습니다. 아버지는 뒷마당의 섬 같은 낙원에서 마지막 날들을 보냈습니다. 브랜든의 이야기는 출애굽기 20장의 부모와 자녀가 한데 어울려 사는 모습을 떠올려줍니다. 거기서 하나님은 모세를 통해 이스라엘 자손에게 “네 부모를 공경하라 그리하면 네 하나님 여호와가 네게 준 땅에서 네 생명이 길리라”(출애굽기 20:12)고 하셨습니다. 이 명령은 하나님 아버지를 사랑하고 경외하라는 계명(3-8절)에서 시작되어, 마지막 다섯 계명으로 이어져 이웃을 사랑하고 존중하는 법을 가르쳐주고 있습니다. 살인하지 말라, 간음하지 말라, 도둑질하지 말라, 거짓 증거하지 말라, 탐내지 말라(12-17절). 부모를 공경하는 일은 어떤 사람들에게는 쉬울 수 있어도 어떤 이들에게는 매우 어렵습니다. 너무 많은 아픔과 불신 때문입니다. 오랜 상처는 좀처럼 치유가 어렵습니다. 그러나 우리는 이 아픔을 잘 아시는 하나님 아버지께 맡길 수 있습니다. 하나님은 우리가 그분의 사랑 안에서 살 수 있게 해 주십니다. 오늘의 성구출애굽기 20:8-17, 20-21 네 부모를 공경하라 그리하면 네 하나님 여호와가 네게 준 땅에서 네 생명이 길리라 [출애굽기 20:12]부모를 공경하는 것이 당신의 경우 무엇을 의미합니까? 그것을 실천하는 데 어떤 장애물이 있습니까?하나님 아버지, 어려운 중에도 남을 존중하는 방법을 가르쳐 주소서.Daily Article08/15/2026     SATURDAYThe Bible in One Year: PSALMS 91-93; ROMANS 15:1-13Hymn: 213(old348)LIVING OUT GOD’S LOVEBranden’s father was dying of cancer in his fifties. Wanting to help, Branden talked his parents into moving in with him so he could assist them. His dad loved the tropics but could no longer travel, so Branden got creative. He landscaped a pond behind his house, stocked it with fish, and installed a waterfall that tumbled over rocks. He trucked in three loads of beach sand, added banana trees, lights, and tiki torches, and built an awning for shade. His dad spent his last days enjoying a backyard island paradise. Branden’s actions reflect the kind of harmony between parents and children envisioned in Exodus 20. There, God through Moses instructed the children of Israel, “Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you” (EXODUS 20:12). That directive grows out of the commands to love and respect our heavenly Father (VV. 3-8) and bridges to the last five commands, which instruct us how to love and respect our fellow human beings. Don’t murder, don’t commit adultery, don’t steal, don’t lie, don’t covet (VV. 12-17). Honoring parents might come easily for some. For others, it’s extremely difficult. There’s too much pain and distrust. Old wounds refuse to heal. We can commit them to God our Father, who understands that pain. He enables us to live in His love.
