본향을 찾아 in search of one's hometown

이같이 말하는 자들은 본향 찾는 것을 나타냄이라 저희가 나온바 본향을 생각하였더면 돌아갈 기회가 있었으려니와 저희가 이제는 더 나은 본향을 사모하니 곧 하늘에 있는 것이라 그러므로 하나님이 저희 하나님이라 일컬음 받으심을 부끄러워 아니하시고 저희를 위하여 한 성을 예비하셨느니라 히브리서 11:14-16

For those who say such things make it clear that they are seeking a country of their own. And indeed if they had been thinking of that country from which they went out, they would have had opportunity to return. But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God; for He has prepared a city for them. Hebrews 11:14-16

연어는 자기가 태어난 강물의 냄새를 좇아 수만키로를 헤엄쳐 고향에 돌아와 알을 낳습니다. 이는 비단 동물들에게서만 볼 수 있는 현상이 아닙니다. 만물의 영장, 하나님의 형상대로 지음받았다는 인간들 역시 무언지 모르는 것을 향한 그리움을 갖고 살아갑니다. 그것이 성취욕구로 나타나기도 하고 세상을 등지는 모습으로 나타나기도 합니다. 이는 보이지 않는 곳에 죽음을 통하여 가고자 하는 행동일 것입니다.

인간의 고향은 어디일까요? 혹은 무엇을 그리워하는 것일까요? 태어난 고향을 오랜만에 가보면 물론 그 모습이 없어진 경우도 있지만 만일 그대로 남아 있더라도 너무 좁고 우스꽝스러운 경험을 해 보셨을 것입니다. 즉 고향은 실제가 아니라 마음에 있다는 사실을 인정하게 됩니다. 인간의 고향은 천국일까요? 우리는 살면서 한번도 천국에 가본 적이 없고 가 본 사람도 신비한 체험일뿐 다른 이들에게 말로 설명하는 것이 전부입니다.

만일 인간이 그리워하는 고향이 천국이라 해도 거기에 가기 위해 자신의 목숨을 버릴 사람은 많지 않을 것입니다. 그러나 만일 우리가 찾는 고향이 우리 마음에 있다면 복음을 통하여 우리가 어떻게 거기에 다다를 수 있는지를 말해 놓으셨을 것을 믿습니다. 오늘은 우리가 그리워하는 고향이 어디이며 어떻게 갈 수 있는 지에 대하여 이야기 해 보려 합니다

전통적 기독교에서는 인간이 타락하여 본래 가지고 있던 어떤 소중한 것을 잃었다고 가르칩니다. 그래서 그 잃은것에 대한 그리움과 또 타락에 대한 책임에서 오는 정죄감이 인간의 마음을 주장한다는 것입니다. 그런데 성경을 통해 인간의 이러한 그리움은 마치 이스라엘 백성이 애굽에 살면서 약속의 땅 가나안을 그리워하는 것에 비유됨을 알 알고 있습니다. 하지만 애굽의 이스라엘 백성에게 그리움은 있으나 정죄감은 없었습니다.

이 약속의 땅 가나안은 종종 믿는 이들에게 천국을 지칭하는 것으로 이해됩니다. 그리고 이제 드리는 말씀은 그 천국이 바로 인생이 그리워하는 고향이라는 것입니다. 그리고 우리는 이 그리움이 마음 안에 있어서 그것을 찾고 있다는 사실을 인정해야 합니다. 모든 인생, 우리 믿는 사람들까지 포함한 모든 인생은 자신의 마음에서 참된 자신, 참된 고향, 그리고 하늘나라를 그리워하며 이를 찾고 있습니다.

복음은 주님과 함께 하는 모든 역사를 말합니다. 그렇지 않고 홀로 하는 것은 종교입니다. 주님과 함께 하는 모든 역사는 하늘에 멀리 계신 주님을 사모하며 올라가는 것이 아닙니다. 오히려 나 있는 곳에 주께서 오셔서 함께 하는 것입니다. 천국에 올라가는 것이 아니라 천국이 내 안에 도래 하는 것입니다. 우리는 이 천국이 그리워 지금껏 사모하며 왔던 것입니다.

내 안을 들여다보면 어둠과 혼란뿐일 수 있습니다. 그러나 복음이 알려주시는 것은 그 혼란과 어둠 한 가운데 주께서 보좌를 두셨다는 것입니다. 이로써 우리는 우리 심령의 중심에 천국이 있음을 알게 되었습니다. 거기서 우리의 삶이 시작되고 회복과 충만이 성취됩니다. 그래서 우리의 심정은 이제 그리움이 아닌 고향 땅을 밟은 이들의 안도와 감사가 있을 뿐입니다.

Salmon follow the smell of the river where they were born and return to their hometowns to lay eggs. This is not a phenomenon that can only be seen in animals. Humans, who are said to have been named in the form of God, the warrant of all things, also live with longing for something they do not know. It appears as a desire for achievement or as a form of turning against the world. This may be an action to go through death in the invisible.

Where is the human hometown? Or what is he missing? If you go to your hometown after a long time, of course, there are cases where you have disappeared, but even if it remains the same, you have experienced a very narrow and ridiculous experience. In other words, you admit that your hometown is in the heart, not in the real world. Is human hometown heaven? We have never been to heaven in our lives, and those who have been there have only mysterious experiences to explain in words to others.

Even if the hometown that humans miss is heaven, not many people will give up their lives to go there. However, if the hometown we are looking for is in our hearts, I believe the gospel tells us how we can get there. Today, we are going to talk about where we miss our hometown and how we can get there

Traditional Christianity teaches that humans have fallen and lost something precious. That's why the human mind is claimed by the longing for the loss and the guilt resulting from the responsibility for the depravity. However, we know from the Bible that this longing for the Israelis is compared to the longing for Canaan, the land of promise, while living in Egypt. However, the Israelites of Egypt had longing but no guilt.

Canaan, the land of this promise, is often understood to refer to heaven for believers. And what I am saying now is that heaven is the home that life misses. And we must admit that this longing is in our hearts, and we are looking for it. Every life, including those of us who believe, is looking for it in our hearts, missing the true self, the true hometown, and the sky.

The gospel tells all the history of the Lord. Otherwise, it is a religion to do it alone. All history with the Lord does not go up adoring the Lord far in the sky. Rather, the Lord comes to my place and is with me. It is not that we go up to heaven, but that heaven comes to me. We have longed for this heaven so far.

If you look inside me, it can only be darkness and confusion. However, what the gospel tells you is that the Lord has placed an aide in the midst of the chaos and darkness. By doing so, we know that heaven is at the center of our spirits. That's where our lives begin, and our recovery and fullness are achieved. So our hearts are no longer longing, but the relief and appreciation of those who have stepped on our homeland.
