SEOUL, May 3 (Yonhap) -- The main opposition Democratic Party (DP) on Friday elected a lawmaker closely aligned with DP leader Lee Jae-myung as its new floor leader.

Rep. Park Chan-dae, a member of the DP's Supreme Council who was reelected for a third term in the general elections, was named floor leader at a general meeting of party lawmakers, becoming the party's first floor leader under the current 22nd National Assembly.
​
Park was the sole candidate for the post.
​
Announcing his run for the floor leader earlier, Park said his election will establish a "two-top system," with Chairman Lee best fit to push ahead with reforms.
​
A graduate of Seoul's Inha University, Park worked as an accountant before entering politics in 2014 and winning the general elections for the first time in 2016.

(서울=연합뉴스) 박경준 계승현 기자 = 더불어민주당 새 원내대표에 친명(친이재명)계인 박찬대(인천 연수갑) 의원이 3일 선출됐다.

4·10 총선 승리로 3선 고지에 오른 박 신임 원내대표는 이날 국회에서 열린 당선자 총회에서 민주당의 새 원내 사령탑으로 뽑혔다.

경선은 박 신임 원내대표가 단독 입후보해 무기명 찬반 투표만 했다.

민주당은 찬성표가 과반인 사실만 공개했고, 구체적 득표율은 공개하지 않았다.

박 신임 원내대표는 투표 전 정견 발표에서 "일할 기회를 주시면 첫째도, 둘째도, 셋째도 개혁이라는 각오로 임하겠다"며 "일하면서 싸우는 민주당, 행동하는 민주당이 돼 국민께서 정치 효능감을 느끼도록 하겠다"고 말했다.

한편, 민주당 원내대표 경선에서 단독 입후보한 후보가 당선된 것은 열린우리당 시절인 2005년 당시 정세균 의원이 만장일치로 추대된 이후 19년 만이다.
