2Ezra9[1] He answered me and said, Measure carefully in your mind, and when you seethat a certain part of the predicted signs are past[2] then you will know that it is the very time when the Most High is about to visitthe world which he has made.[3] So when there shall appear in the world earthquakes, tumult of peoples,intrigues of nations, wavering of leaders, confusion of princes,[4] then you will know that it was of these that the Most High spoke from thedays that were of old, from the beginning.[5] For just as with everything that has occurred in the world, the beginning isevident, and the end manifest[6] so also are the times of the Most High: the beginnings are manifest inwonders and mighty works, and the end in requital and in signs.[7] And it shall be that every one who will be saved and will be able to escape onaccount of his works, or on account of the faith by which he has believed[8] will survive the dangers that have been predicted, and will see my salvation inmy land and within my borders, which I have sanctified for myself from thebeginning.[9] Then those who have now abused my ways shall be amazed, and those whohave rejected them with contempt shall dwell in torments.[10] For as many as did not acknowledge me in their lifetime, although theyreceived my benefits 에스라 2서 9절[1] 그가 내게 대답하여 이르시되 네 마음으로 잘 살피고, 예언된 징조들 중 어느 부분이 지나간 것을 알게 되면[2] 그때가 바로 지극히 높으신 분께서 그분이 만드신 세상을 찾아오실 때임을 알게 될 것이다.[3] 그러므로 세상에 지진과 백성들의 소란과 나라들의 음모와 지도자들의 동요와 군주들의 혼란이 나타날 때에,[4] 그때가 바로 지극히 높으신 분께서 옛날부터, 태초부터 말씀하신 것이 이것들을 가리키는 것임을 알게 될 것이다.[5] 세상에서 일어난 모든 일의 시작은 분명하고 끝은 명백하듯이[6] 지극히 높으신 분의 때도 그러하니, 시작은 기적과 놀라운 일들로 나타나고 끝은 보응과 징조들로 나타날 것이다.[7] 그리고 구원받을 자는 누구든지 자기 행위나 믿음으로 말미암아 피할 수 있는 자는[8] 예언된 위험에서 살아남아 내가 처음부터 나를 위하여 거룩하게 구별한 내 땅과 내 경계 안에서 나의 구원을 보게 될 것이다.[9] 그때에 지금 내 길을 악용한 자들은 놀랄 것이며, 내 길을 멸시하며 거부한 자들은 고통 속에 거할 것이다.[10] 살아생전에 나를 인정하지 아니한 자들은 내 은혜를 받았음에도 불구하고 다만, [11] and as many as scorned my law while they still had freedom, and did notunderstand but despised it while an opportunity of repentance was still open tothem[12] these must in torment acknowledge it after death.[13] Therefore, do not continue to be curious as to how the ungodly will bepunished; but inquire how the righteous will be saved, those to whom the agebelongs and for whose sake the age was made.[14] I answered and said[15] I said before, and I say now, and will say it again: there are more whoperish than those who will be saved[16] as a wave is greater than a drop of water.[17] He answered me and said, As is the field, so is the seed and as are theflowers, so are the colors and as is the work so is the product and as is thefarmer, so is the threshing floor.[18] For there was a time in this age when I was preparing for those who nowexist, before the world was made for them to dwell in, and no one opposed methen, for no one existed[19] but now those who have been created in this world which is supplied bothwith an unfailing table and an inexhaustible pasture, have become corrupt in theirways.[20] So I considered my world, and behold, it was lost, and my earth, and behold,it was in peril because of the devices of those who had come into it. [11] 아직 자유가 있을 때에 내 율법을 멸시하고, 회개할 기회가 있을 때에 깨닫지 못하고 멸시한 자들은[12] 죽은 후에 고통 가운데서 그 율법을 인정해야 할 것이다.[13] 그러므로 악인들이 어떻게 벌을 받을지 궁금해하지 말고, 의인들이 어떻게 구원받을지, 곧 이 시대의 주인이요 이 시대가 그들을 위하여 창조된 자들이 어떻게 구원받을지 알아보라.[14] 내가 대답하여 이르되[15] 전에도 말하였고 지금도 말하며 다시 말하노니, 구원받을 자보다 멸망할 자가 더 많으니[16] 파도가 물방울보다 큰 것과 같으니라.[17] 그가 내게 대답하여 이르되 밭이 그러하듯 씨앗도 그러하고, 꽃이 그러하듯 색깔도 그러하고, 일이 그러하듯 소산물도 그러하고, 농부가 그러하듯 타작마당도 그러하니라.[18] 이 세상에는 내가 지금 있는 자들을 위해 준비하던 때가 있었는데, 그들이 거할 세상이 만들어지기 전이었고, 그때에는 아무도 나를 대적하지 못했습니다. 그때에는 아무도 없었기 때문입니다.[19] 그러나 지금은 이 세상에 창조된 자들은, 썩지 않는 식탁과 마르지 않는 목초지가 풍족한데도, 그들의 행실이 타락했습니다.[20] 그래서 내가 내 세상을 살펴보니, 보라, 그것은 망했고, 내 땅을 살펴보니, 보라, 그것은 그 안에 들어온 자들의 계략 때문에 위험에 처해 있었습니다.
