Birds

Birds are free
Free from what they own
Free from needing more
That is why they can fly through the wide, blue sky

Birds don’t say, ‘this is mine’ or ‘that is yours’
Look at them
They eat only what they need
They rest wherever their feet can stand

Birds can fly
Not just because they have wings
But because they carry nothing heavy in their hearts
They are free from wanting too much.

Birds without greed
Fly higher than the clouds
Birds with nothing to hold them down
Can travel across the world

가진 것에서 자유롭다

모든 것에서 자유롭다

그 때문에 푸른 하늘을 날 수 있다

새들은 내 것 네 것이 없다

새들을 보라

먹을 때도 먹을 만큼 먹고

잠잘 때도 두 발만 디딜 수 있으면 된다

새들이 푸른 하늘을 날 수 있는 것은

날개가 있기 때문이 아니다

욕심이 없기 때문이다

모든 것에서 자유롭기 때문이다

욕심이 없는 새는

높이높이 난다

모든 것에서 자유로운 새는 멀리멀리 난다
