그러므로 우리가 그리스도의 도의 초보를 버리고 죽은 행실을 회개함과 하나님께 대한 신앙과

Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let [us] [go on to perfection],

not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God,

So let [us] [stop going over the basic teachings about Christ again and again].

Let us go on /instead and become mature in our understanding.

Surely we don’t need to start again with the fundamental importance of repenting from evil deeds

and placing our faith in God.

Contemporary English Version

We must try [to become mature]

and start [thinking about more than just the basic things () we were taught about Christ.

We shouldn't need to keep talking about why we ought to turn from deeds //that bring death]

and why we ought to have faith in God.

* 목적인 부정사와 동명사의 차이점

부정사는 잠재/미래 특성이 있으므로 앞으로 할 동작이지만 동명사는 이미 했거나 하고있는 동작에 쓰인다

* start는 thinking과 거의 동시동작이기에 동명사로 썻으나 시작이 먼저고 생각이 다음이기에 부정사도 씀

* 주의 stop thinking에서는 이미 시작한 일이라야 멈출 수 있으므로 과거일 의미인 동명사로 쓰나 부정사는

  stop /to think는 정지가 먼저고 생각은 다음에 오기에 '생각하기 위하여' 멈추었다는 의미로 달라지게 됨

dead works는 죽은 행실인데 하나님께 대하여 영이 죽은 자가 하는 일이 어찌 보이든 죽은 자의 행위인 건

영이 죽은 자는 죄인이고 죄인의 특기는 하나님의 기준과는 다른 자기관점에 따라 행동하니 죄짓는 게 되고

하나님께서만 선하시므로 신이 아닌 모든 인간신 행위는 하나님 기준에는 악이 되므로 evil deeds 악행이며

죄인 생각인 허탄허망 허위허상 상상/사상의 행위는 파멸로 이끄는 acts that lead to death 사망인도가 된다
