I will recall the deeds of the LORD;
yes, recall your wonders of old.
I will ponder all your works;
on your exploits I will meditate. [Psalms 77:11-12, NAB] ---------------
Faith is oriented toward the process, not the result. What is important is not achieving something, but the thing itself and the process through which it was achieved. Faith comes from remembering. Is there anything more important in faith than remembering, thanking, and praising the amazing things God has done? The days that have passed, the days that are no longer gone, must have been many days when each person was overjoyed with joy! How we laughed then! How touching was the grace of God that poured out in a time of peril. How profound it was for us! When you think of those moments, doesn't your heart swell and your face and heart fill with bright energy? It is the privilege of Christians to remember, give thanks, and praise. The days that have passed are just as valuable as the days that never came. They fill today and tomorrow with excitement and hope.
