Message 3 - posted by taz1981, 1 Hour Ago Glad it happened to South Korea this time. In the last world cup they benefitted from a dodgy decision in almost every game.

Message 7 - posted by vastariner, 58 Minutes Ago Every BBC commentator and pundit - Radio 5 and BBC3 - is saying the referee was right to allow the Frei goal. Shouldn't they be expected to know the laws of the game? Frei was offside and gained an advantage by being in that position, regardless that the last touch was from a defender.
After all, the BBC should know, because the BBC website explains it clearly enough here: news.bbc.co.uk/sport... "If the ball rebounds off either a post, the crossbar or an opposing defender, then the attacker is offside. This is because they have gained an advantage by being in that position." Message 8 - posted by Fry, 58 Minutes Ago Just noticed that the way the draw works out, Italy have a very easy route to the semis. Australia in the round of 16 and the winner of Switzerland-Ukraine in the quarters. Get your bets down now.

Message 10 - posted by Mexes2Arsenal, 57 Minutes Ago Referee was very good tonight overall, ignoring that particular decision for the moment.
Swiss were the better team by miles and only Korea's energy and workrate kept them in with a chance of equalising. This is a reply to this message

Message 11 - posted by Daniel T Byrd - Lovely! - VorsprungDurchHotspur!, 55 Minutes Ago yes well, italy always had an easier route after the y got through that godawful group
group g and group h wer alwys gonna be the weakest quarter of the draw, and they've proved it. switzerland and ukrainse in the round of 16 when ivory coast wer easily better than both of those teams! not to mention the czech rep! This is a reply to this message

Message 14 - posted by vastariner, 53 Minutes Ago Might be better value to go for Australia in that half. They're well capable of beating Italy, especially as the likes of Toni and Gattuso will be chatting up Viduka and Kewell trying to get a move to the Premiership rather than play in Serie C1.
BTW, no goals conceded for Switzerland. Genuinely good defence or a very poor group? This is a reply to this message

Message 18 - posted by dannymu, 50 Minutes Ago again the referees didnt understand each other. N this have cost a place in the last 16 4 South Korea. The linesman said it was outside but the referee decided the contrary. There is a lot of controversy over referees this world cup. The US against Italy, yesterday Australia vs croacia n now Switzerland vs South Korea. But South Korea played really well till the last second. They should b really proud of themselves. And their fans r the best in the world. Always cheering on the team whatever the result. If Poll goes home hope theses Urugayans also go. Anyway hope 2 see South Korea n their wonderful fans again in 2010.

Message 20 - posted by eggsmell90**, 49 Minutes Ago I actually think, looking at the highlights, that the ref made a very good call, so it shouldn't be an issue at all. Ref actually had some balls to make his own decision
