1. 그때에 아그립바가 바울에게 이르되, 너 자신을 위해 말하는 것을 허락하노라, 하매 이에 바울이 손을 들어 자기를

    위해 답변하되

Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Thou art permitted to speak for thyself. Then Paul stretched forth the hand, and answered for himself:

2. 아그립바 왕이여, 유대인들이 고소한 모든 일에 관하여 내가 이 날 왕 앞에서 나를 위해 답변할 터이므로 다행으로

    생각하오니

I think myself happy, king Agrippa, because I shall answer for myself this day before thee touching all the things whereof I am accused of the Jews:

3. 이는 특히 왕께서 유대인들 가운데 있는 모든 관례와 문제를 잘 아시는 줄 내가 알기 때문이니이다.

    그러므로 인내하시며 내 말을 들어 주실 것을 간청하나이다.

Especially [because I know ] thee to be expert in all customs and questions which are among the Jews: wherefore I beseech thee to hear me patiently.

4. 내가 젊었을 때에 처음으로 예루살렘에서 내 민족 가운데서 지냈으며 그때부터 내가 살아온 방식은 모든 유대인들이

    아나이다.

My manner of life from my youth, which was at the first among mine own nation at Jerusalem, know all the Jews;

5. 그들이 처음부터 나를 알았으니 만일 그들이 증언하고자 한다면 내가 우리 종교의 가장 엄한 종파를 따라

    바리새인으로 살았다 하리이다.

Which knew me from the beginning, if they would testify, that after the most straitest sect of our religion I lived a Pharisee.

6. 지금 내가 서서 재판을 받는 것은 [하나님]께서 우리 조상들에게 하신 약속의 소망으로 인함이니

And now I stand and am judged for the hope of the promise made of God unto our fathers:

7. 우리 열두 지파는 밤낮으로 끊임없이 [하나님]을 섬기며 이 소망에 이르기를 바라는데, 아그립바 왕이여,

    이 소망으로 인해 내가 유대인들에게 고소를 당하였나이다.

Unto which [promise] our twelve tribes, instantly serving [God] day and night, hope to come. For which hopes sake, king Agrippa, I am accused of the Jews. 

8. 당신들은 어찌하여 [하나님]께서 죽은 자들을 살리신다는 것을 믿을 수 없는 일로 생각하나이까?

Why should it be thought a thing incredible with you, that God should raise the dead?

9. 참으로 내가 나사렛 예수님의 이름을 대적하는 많은 일을 해야 함이 마땅한 줄로 스스로 생각하고

I verily thought with myself, that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth.

10. 예루살렘에서도 그 일을 행하여 내가 수제사장들로부터 권한을 받아 성도들 중에서 많은 사람을 감옥에 가두며 또

      그들을 죽일 때에 그들을 대적하는 목소리를 내었고

Which thing I also did in Jerusalem: and many of the saints did I shut up in prison, having received authority from the chief priests; and when they were put to death, I gave my voice against [them].

11.또 모든 회당에서 여러 번 그들에게 형벌을 내리며 그들로 하여금 억지로 신성모독하는 말을 하게 하였고 또 그들을

    향해 심히 격분하여 타국의 도시들에까지 가서 그들을 핍박하였나이다.

And I punished them oft in every synagogue, and compelled [them] to blaspheme; and being exceedingly mad against them, I persecuted [them] even unto strange cities.

12. 내가 그 일로 수제사장들로부터 권한과 임무를 받아 다마스커스로 가고 있을 때에

Whereupon as I went to Damascus with authority and commission from the chief priests,

13.오 왕이여, 정오가 되어 내가 길에서 보니 하늘로부터 해보다 더 밝은 빛이 나와서 나와 및 나와 함께 길가는 자들을

     둘러 비추었나이다.

At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me.

14. 우리가 다 땅에 쓰러졌을 때에 내게 말씀하시는 한 음성이 있어 내가 들으매 히브리말로 이르시되, 사울아, 사울아,

      어찌하여 네가 나를 핍박하느냐? 가시 채를 걷어차기가 네게 고생이라, 하시기에

And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? [it is] hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

15. 내가 이르되, [주]여, 누구시니이까? 하매 그분께서 이르시되, 나는 네가 핍박하는 예수라.

And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest.

16. 오직 너는 일어나 네 발로 서라. 내가 네게 나타난 것은 이 목적을 성취하기 위함이니 곧 네가 본 이 일들과 또

      앞으로 내가 네게 나타낼 그 일들에 대하여 너를 사역자와 증인으로 삼기 위함이라.

But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;

17. 내가 너를 백성과 이방인들에게서 건져 내어 이제 그들에게로 보내는 것은

Delivering thee from the people, and [from] the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee,

18. 그들의 눈을 열어 주어 그들을 어둠에서 빛으로, 사탄의 권세에서 [하나님]께로 돌아오게 하려 함이요, 또 그들이

      죄들의 용서를 받고 내 안에 있는 믿음으로 거룩히 구별된 자들 가운데서 상속 유업을 받게 하려 함이라, 하더이다.

To open their eyes, [and] to turn [them] from darkness to light, and [from] the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

19. 그러므로, 오 아그립바 왕이여, 내가 하늘에 나타난 그 환상에 불순종하지 아니하여

Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision:

20. 먼저 다마스커스와 예루살렘 사람들과 온 유대 지방에게 그리고 이방인들에게 그들이 회개하고 [하나님]께로

      돌아와 회개에 합당한 일들을 행하여야 함을 보이매

But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and [then] to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.

21. 이러한 까닭에 유대인들이 성전에서 나를 붙잡아 죽이려 하였나이다.

For these causes the Jews caught me in the temple, and went about to kill [me].

22. 그러므로 [하나님]의 도우심을 받아 나는 이 날까지 계속해서 작은 자와 큰 자에게 증언하며 오직 선지자들과

      모세가 반드시 일어나리라고 말한 그것들만을 말하노니

Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come:

23. 그것은 곧 그리스도께서 고난 받으실 것과 죽은 자들로부터 일어나야 할 첫 사람이 되사 백성과 이방인들에게 빛을

      보이시리라, 하는 것이니이다, 하니라.

That Christ should suffer, [and] that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles.

24. 바울이 이같이 자기를 위해 말하매 베스도가 큰 소리로 이르되, 바울아, 네가 제정신이 아니니 많은 학식이 너를

      미치게 하는도다, 하나

And as he thus spake for himself, Festus said with a loud voice, Paul, thou art beside thyself; much learning doth make thee mad.

25. 바울이 이르되, 베스도 각하, 나는 미치지 아니하였으며 참된 말과 맑은 정신의 말을 하나이다.

But he said, I am not mad, most noble Festus; but speak forth the words of truth and soberness.

26. 왕께서는 이 일들에 대하여 아시므로 내가 왕 앞에서도 거리낌 없이 아뢰나이다. 또 내가 확신하는 바로는 이 일들

      중 어떤 것도 왕께 숨겨지지 아니하였으니 이 일은 한 구석에서 일어나지 아니하였나이다.

For the king knoweth of these things, before whom also I speak freely: for I am persuaded that none of these things are hidden from him; for this thing was not done in a corner.

27. 아그립바 왕이여, 왕께서는 대언자들의 글을 믿으시나이까? 믿으시는 줄 내가 아나이다, 하니

King Agrippa, believest thou the prophets? I know that thou believest.

28. 그때에 아그립바가 바울에게 이르되, 네가 나를 설득하여 거의 그리스도인이 되게 하는도다, 하매

Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.

29. 바울이 이르되, 각하뿐 아니라 이 날 내 말을 듣는 모든 사람도 이렇게 결박당한 것을 빼고는 거의 나와 같이 되고

      전적으로 나와 같이 되기를 [하나님]께 원하나이다, 하니라.

And Paul said, I would to God, that not only thou, but also all that hear me this day, were both almost, and altogether such as I am, except these bonds.

30. 그가 이같이 말하매 왕과 총독과 버니게와 또 그들과 함께 앉은 자들이 일어나

And when he had thus spoken, the king rose up, and the governor, and Bernice, and they that sat with them:

31. 한쪽으로 물러가서 서로 이야기하며 이르되, 이 사람은 죽거나 결박당할 일을 전혀 하지 아니하는도다, 하고

And when they were gone aside, they talked between themselves, saying, This man doeth nothing worthy of death or of bonds.

32. 그때에 아그립바가 베스도에게 이르되, 이 사람이 만일 카이사르에게 청원하지 아니하였더라면 석방될 수 있을 뻔

      하였도다, 하니라.

Then said Agrippa unto Festus, This man might have been set at liberty, if he had not appealed unto Caesar.
