아리조나 투바시티에서 원주민들을 섬기는 이영호, 이선옥 선교사입니다.

Greetings in our Lord Jesus Christ.

This is pastor Young & Sun Lee who're serving Native Americans in Tuba City Arizona.

이번 소식은 뉴저지에서 보냅니다.

마침 방과후학교 무술 교실도 새로 시작했는데 외유를 하자니 마음이 편치 않지만 부득이 외출을 하게 되었습니다.

도착 이후 계속되는 흐리거나 비가 오는 날씨에 적응하기 쉽지 않으니 십여 년 생활에 아리조나가 많이 익숙해졌다 싶은 생각이 듭니다.

하긴 간간이 부는 악명 높은 모래바람만 견딜 수 있다면 아리조나의 청명함과 건조함이 참 좋긴 합니다.

어쨌거나 그래도 올해 유일한 손자녀들과의 만남이 싫지는 않습니다.

I am sending this Newsletter from New Jersey.

It is a uncomfortable outing with newly launched martial arts class in Tuba City.

The cloudy/rainy weather in New Jersey is not easy for me to stand so I now am more comfortable with Arizona weather.

Actually, I like the bright and dry Arizona weather as long as I can handle the occasional notorious sandy wind.

But it is good to see my children and grandchildren once a year.

새 방과후학교 사역 시작

현지 고등학교에서 8월 27일 시작된 방과후학교 무술교실(몸공부)이 화목 주 2회 총 일곱 번 진행되었습니다.

아직 출석이 고르지는 않지만 시간이 지나면서 안정이 되리라 생각하며 이로 인해 학생들, 그리고 학교 측과 좀 더 발전적인 관계를 모색할 생각입니다.

와중에 좀 더 세심한 기획이 이뤄지도록 탐구하고 노력할 생각이니 위하여 기도해주십시오.

New After-School Ministry

We had total 7 martial arts classes (every Tue. & Thu.) since the first class on August 27.

It is not settled down yet but it maybe getting better as the class repeats also we will try to establish better relationship with the students and school.

So please pray for that we may do our best to make it thoughtful & detailed project.

새 사무실 및 사역 공간 확보???

지난 소식에서 알려드린 것 이상 별다른 진전이 없었습니다. (다음 달에도 변화가 없으면 소식에서 빼겠습니다.)

현지로 돌아가면 당국에 문의를 할 예정이지만 이러저런 일들로 바빠지는 시기라서 의외로 시간이 걸릴 수도 있겠다는 생각도 듭니다.

모든 것이 하나님의 섭리에 달려있음을 믿고 최선을 다할 뿐입니다.

하나님의 역사는 결코 늦지도, 이르지도 않고 매사가 적시에 이뤄진다고 믿습니다.

New Office/Ministry Space???

Nothing much advanced since the last news. (I will eliminate this news if nothing happen in the next month.)

I will check the Office when I go back to Tuba City but think that it might be take some more time due to the season of the year.

We try to be faithful depending on God's sovereignty.

Nothing will be too late or too early in His sovereign ruling but everything will be done on the right time.

현장 사역

9월 한 달간 Bitter Springs Baptist에서 네 번 말씀을 전했습니다.

교인들이 열악한 형편에서도 낙심하지 않고 최선을 다하는 모습이 감사합니다.

눈에 뜨이는 외적 변화는 없지만 경청하는 성도들로 인해 예배와 말씀을 함께 나누며 감사와 행복을 누립니다.

이 교회와 안팎으로 여러 가지 어려움에 처한 투바시티 장로교회를 위해서, 또한 나바호의 부흥을 위해서도 기도해주시기 바랍니다.

Regular Ministries

I shared 4 messages in Bitter Springs Baptist Church in September.

I am thankful to see that the members are doing their best in spite of many difficulties in their lives.

Nothing much noticeable change but we enjoy the worship and message together.

Please pray for this church, Tuba City Presbyterian Church (which has many issues in and out), and also for the revival of the Nation.

장마당사역: 무료 침치료 및 문서사역

9월에는 세 번 출장하여 61건의 침사역과 10건의 문서사역(성경자료 배포)을 감당했습니다.

요즘에는 지나가다 들어오는 분들은 별로 없고 대부분 이래저래 어디선가 듣고 찾아오는 분들, 그리고 다시 오시는 분들이 치료를 받습니다.

나누고 싶은 경우가 하나 있는데...

2주 전에 정신적인 문제로 치료를 받은 분이 이번에는 통증치료를 위해 다시 찾아왔습니다.

그는 지난번 치료가 너무 좋았다고 하면서, 자기가 원래 술중독자인데 지난 번 치료를 받은 후 술 생각이 전혀 나지 않는다고, 그래서 술을 마시지도 않게 되었고 덕분에 아내가 운전을 허락해서 운전도 할 수 있고 10월 7일부터 일도 할 수 있게 되었다고 간증하는 것이었습니다.

많은 분들이 통증과 정신적 문제에서 해방되는 것을 보긴 했지만 너무나 놀라운 간증이라 “할렐루야! 주께 영광!”이라는 외침이 절로 나왔고 그도 “아멘!”으로 화답을 했습니다.

그러나 중독의 사슬은 너무나 무서운 것이기에 이 남자가 끝내 승리할 수 있도록, 그리고 물론 치료받는 모든 분들을 위해 기도해주시기를 부탁드립니다.

Market Ministry with Free Acupuncture and Booklet Ministry

We served 61 acupuncture and 10 booklet ministry in three outings.

We see less patients than the early times but good to see newly referred and returning patients nowadays.

Here a story I want to share...

A patient who had come two weeks ago for his mental issues came back second time for pain this time.

Saying that he enjoyed the first visit and also confessed that he has been an alcoholic but even a thought of alcohol disappeared at all after the first treatment.

Now he has been sober for 2 weeks, his partner allowed him to drive around, and beginning his new job on October 7.

I have been seeing some good results for mental and pain but suddenly uttered "Hallelujah, Praise the Lord!" at his amazing report and he replied saying "Amen!"

I share his case to ask you to pray for this man since the chain of addiction is so tough.

사역일정을 참고해주십시오.

* 저희 내외는 9월 24일부터 뉴저지를 방문 중이며 10월 8일 돌아갈 예정입니다.

* 10월 16일부터 23일까지는 한국과 뉴저지에서 손님들이 방문할 예정입니다.

* 10월 31일 예정되었던 현지 경찰서와의 할로윈파티 행사는 방과후학교 사역과 겹침으로 취소할 예정입니다.

* 2025년 1월 초에는 저희 두 단체의 이사회가 있으며 중순부터 2월 초순까지는 한두 가지 업무로 한국을 방문할 예정입니다. 방과후학교 사역을 감안하여 가능한 한 여로를 단순하게 짜고 조속히 돌아오도록 할 예정입니다.

* We are in New Jersey since September 24 and will return to Tuba City on October 8.

* We will have visitors from New Jersey and Korea during October 16 to 23.

* The Halloween event with the Police Department might be canceled due to overlapping schedule with martial arts class.

* We will visit Korea for a couple of businesses from the latter January to the early February. We would not delay our return considering our after-school ministry.

이달에 일곱 개의 영상이 추가되어 도합 47개의 성경공부 동영상과 네 개의 기타 동영상이 등재되어 있습니다.

뉴저지를 방문하는 동안에는 영상을 올리지 못해 좀 서운하군요.

하지만 제가 영상을 올리지 못해도 서운해 하실 분들이 많지 않으리라 생각하며 부담을 덜어봅니다.

그러나 만에 하나 기다리시는 분이 계시다면 앞으로 더욱 노력할 것을 약속드립니다.^^
