Salsa Beginner Sunday (12/1) Class review

살사 4주차, 오늘 수업은 매주 일요일처럼 좋았습니다. 외국인인 저로서는 아직도 "텐션"과 "여성을 강제로 돌리는 것"의 차이를 구분하려고 노력 중이에요. 하지만, 뭐, 진전은 진전이죠! 동작들이 조금 더 자연스럽게 느껴지기 시작했지만, 가끔씩은 혼란스러운 풍차처럼 보이기도 합니다. 그렇지만 "맞아요" 혹은 "좋아졌어요"라는 말을 들을 때만큼 기쁜 순간은 없죠. 그 말들이 모든 어색한 회전들을 가치 있게 만들어 줍니다.

새로운 선생님을 만난 것도 정말 좋았어요. 새로운 관점은 항상 새로운 에너지를 가져오고, 그 에너지를 확실히 느꼈습니다. 수업은 매끄럽게 진행되었고, 약간 까다로운 회전과 발 동작들이 있었지만, 모두가 도전을 이겨내려고 하는 모습이 인상적이었어요. 4주차는 성공적이었다고 자신 있게 말할 수 있습니다. 아직 갈 길은 멀지만, 이 여정이 정말 즐겁습니다. 다음 일요일이 기다려지네요!

Week 4 of salsa, and today’s class was great, just like every Sunday. As the foreigner, I’m still trying to figure out the difference between “tension” and “forcefully turning the women,” but hey, progress is progress! The moves are starting to feel a bit more natural, even though I occasionally find myself looking like a confused windmill. But there's nothing quite like hearing “correct” or “you improved” from teacher —those little moments of validation make all the awkward spins worth it.

It was great to meet the new teacher, too. A fresh perspective always brings a new kind of energy, and I was definitely feeling it. The class flowed smoothly with some tricky turns and footwork, but everyone seemed to be pushing through the challenge. I can confidently say that Week 4 was a success. Still a long way to go, but I’m definitely enjoying the ride. Looking forward to next Sunday!
