1. Jason Kidd, New Jersey Nets: He is 31 and his knee is a problem, but he's still the best at running an offense and his teammates love him.
2. Allen Iverson, Philadelphia 76ers: This will be the most interesting season for the most exciting guard in the league to prove he can run an offense.
3. Baron Davis, New Orleans Hornets: He is so gifted, and potentially better than any of these guys, but he's just too selfish too often.
4. Chauncey Billups, Detroit Pistons: When Joe Dumars signed him as a free agent, he saw a lot of himself in Billups. This season we'll find out.
5. Sam Cassell, Minnesota Timberwolves: Last season will be a tough act for him to follow, but if he does, the Timberwolves have a great shot to win the West.
6. Stephon Marbury, New York Knicks: Isiah Thomas invested the future of the Knicks and his own credibility in Marbury. Will he step up this year?
7. Steve Francis, Orlando Magic: It's impossible to know how getting traded will affect Francis, but he certainly has a lot to learn about running a team.
8. Mike Bibby, Sacramento Kings: Some might believe he should be higher in this ranking, but defensive shortcomings and unpredictability in big games linger.
9. Tony Parker, San Antonio Spurs: He could end up being the best of this group with his quickness and all-around ability, but only if he improves.
10. Steve Nash, Phoenix Suns: It appears age is catching up to him considering how he has tired the past couple of seasons. We'll see what he has left.
Also receiving consideration: Gary Payton, Boston Celtics; Dwyane Wade, Miami Heat; Gilbert Arenas, Washington Wizards; Andre Miller, Denver Nuggets; Jason Terry, Dallas Mavericks; Jason Williams, Memphis Grizzlies; Carlos Arroyo, Utah Jazz; Eric Snow, Cleveland Cavaliers; Damon Stoudamire, Portland Trail Blazers.
- SG --------------
1. Kobe Bryant, Los Angeles Lakers: Unquestionably the third-best shooting guard of the past 20 years once you get past No. 23 and No. 45 ... Michael Jordan and, uh, Michael Jordan.
2. Tracy McGrady, Houston Rockets: Coming to the Rockets is a chance for T-Mac to redeem himself and silence all the critics accusing him of being a quitter last season.
3. Ray Allen, Seattle SuperSonics: A great shooter, but he hasn't proved he can raise his teammates' level of play yet and to be paid the maximum, he'll have to do that this season.
4. Richard Hamilton, Detroit Pistons: He is the second coming of Reggie Miller, with less range. He is non-stop motion and the best mid-range shooter in the game but needs to improve his defense.
5. Manu Ginobili, San Antonio Spurs: His toughness and versatility are exceptional, which makes his role more vital on the Spurs. And leading Argentina to the gold medal won't hurt his confidence, either.
6. Michael Redd, Milwaukee Bucks: He blossomed as one of the pre-eminent shooters in the game -- both from 3-point and mid-range. We'll see if he improved at all this summer ... particularly his floor game.
7. Vince Carter, Toronto Raptors: The past three years haven't even been half amazing. It's time for Carter to bounce back and lead this team somewhere, or he'll always be remembered as an underachiever.
8. Michael Finley, Dallas Mavericks: When he's healthy and running the floor, his jump shot is going in from everywhere and he's as effective as any open-floor player in the game. But that has become the exception rather than the rule.
9. Latrell Sprewell, Minnesota Timberwolves: He has lost a little bit off his fastball, but Spree is still capable of taking over games -- big games. But it doesn't happen as often as it used to. But if you ignore him, you're in trouble.
10. Corey Maggette, Los Angeles Clippers: He's so strong and athletic, and his jumper has improved every year. People forget he was 19 when he came into the league, but all of that potential is coming to fruition.
Also receiving consideration: Doug Christie, Sacramento Kings; Bonzi Wells, Memphis Grizzlies; Joe Johnson, Phoenix Suns; Jason Richardson, Golden State Warriors; Stephen Jackson, Indiana Pacers; Quentin Richardson, Phoenix Suns; Larry Hughes, Washington Wizards; Eddie Jones, Miami Heat; Allan Houston, New York Knicks; Derek Anderson, Portland Trail Blazers.
- SF --------------
1. Ron Artest, Indiana Pacers: He is incredibly strong and versatile on both ends of the floor, with the only question being if he can keep his head.
2. Paul Pierce, Boston Celtics: His strength and ability to score inside or outside are unparalleled, and it will be interesting to see how he copes with the ever-changing roster of the Celtics.
3. Peja Stojakvoic, Sacramento Kings: The best pure shooter in the game and a much stronger rebounder/defender than people think, but he has struggled in the postseason.
4. Shawn Marion, Phoenix Suns: His unorthodox shooting style and relaxed demeanor often belie his impact on the game, although his name continues to float in trade rumors.
5. Lamar Odom, Los Angeles Lakers: He is a blossoming superstar, with more size and natural tools than any of these players, but how will he adjust to his third team in three years?
6. Richard Jefferson, New Jersey Nets: There are people who love him because he defends consistently, but his shooting and ball-handling are very erratic.
7. Andrei Kirilenko, Utah Jazz: Clearly, the best defensive player in the group, he's improving rapidly on the offensive end as well.
8. Antawn Jamison, Washington Wizards: He is a great scorer who has extended his shooting range and is a much better offensive rebounder than people recognize.
9. LeBron James, Cleveland Cavaliers: The pressure for him to rise above as the next superstar in the league is immense, but he has the demeanor and skill to meet the challenge.
10. Carmelo Anthony, Denver Nuggets: He is a natural scorer inside and outside, with an improving floor game. He, too, has great expectations.
Also receiving consideration: Jamal Mashburn, New Orleans Hornets; Tim Thomas, New York Knicks; Wally Szczerbiak, Minnesota Timberwolves; Rashard Lewis, Seattle SuperSonics; James Posey, Memphis Grizzlies; Mike Dunleavy, Golden State Warriors; Tayshaun Prince, Detroit Pistons; Jalen Rose, Toronto Raptors.
- PF --------------
1. Tim Duncan, San Antonio Spurs: The most effective and consistent big man in the game.
2. Kevin Garnett, Minnesota Timberwolves: His exceptional talent translated to team success last season.
3. Jermaine O'Neal, Indiana Pacers: He's on the same track as Garnett was; we'll see if he keeps improving.
4. Elton Brand, Los Angeles Clippers: His continued growth as a player sometimes gets lost being on the Clippers.
5. Dirk Nowitzki, Dallas Mavericks: He struggled some last year with all the new players up front; it should be better this season.
6. Chris Webber, Sacramento Kings: He'd better have a great year considering all of his mouthing off, but we don't know if he's still got it.
7. Rasheed Wallace, Detroit Pistons: He doesn't have gaudy statistics, but he proved to be the prototype team player to push the Pistons to a title.
8. Zach Randolph, Portland Trail Blazers: There will always be questions about Zach's head, but he's a great scorer and good rebounder.
9. Kenyon Martin, Denver Nuggets: Now that he's away from Jason Kidd, we'll find out the real deal about K-Mart quality playing in the West.
10. Pau Gasol, Memphis Grizzlies: He's clearly one of the best international players, we'll see how that translates this season.
Also given consideration: Amare Stoudemire, Phoenix Suns; Carlos Boozer, Utah Jazz; Kenny Thomas, Philadelphia 76ers; Al Harrington, Atlanta Hawks; P.J. Brown, New Orleans Hornets.
- C --------------
1. Shaquille O'Neal, Miami Heat: One of the best ever, and he's promising to reinvent himself with Heat.
2. Yao Ming, Houston Rockets: The next best thing, taller, better shooter, needs to develop his upper body.
3. Brad Miller, Sacramento Kings: He has surprising shooting range, great passing ability and is a good rebounder; durability is the big question.
4. Jamaal Magloire, New Orleans Hornets: He is becoming more dominant every year on both ends of the floor, and his first trip to the All-Star Game last February won't be his last.
5. Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Cleveland Cavaliers: Although not strong, he can score on anybody, rebounds decently and will occasionally block a shot.
6. Erick Dampier, Dallas Mavericks: After a very ordinary career, Dampier came on with bests in scoring, rebounding and blocks to get a fat new contract.
7. Ben Wallace, Detroit Pistons: He's by far the most undersized center in the league, but he is also the toughest, the best rebounder and right there among the best shot blockers.
8. Marcus Camby, Denver Nuggets: Lost in the amazing turnaround of the Nuggets last season and the promotion of Carmelo Anthony was the value of Camby on the boards and blocking shots. He's the key to their success.
9. Theo Ratliff, Portland Trail Blazers: He's the best shot blocker in the game when he's healthy and a good offensive rebounder who can make a difference.
10. Eddy Curry, Chicago Bulls: On paper, he's in the top five. He has all the requisite physical skills, but he has to prove he cares enough to actually compete on a nightly basis.
11. Rasho Nesterovic, San Antonio Spurs: He does all the things a guy next to Tim Duncan needs to do: hit open jumpers, block shots and rebound. He just needs to do it more.
Also receiving consideration: Mark Blount, Boston Celtics; Vlade Divac, Los Angeles Lakers; Mehmet Okur, Utah Jazz; Michael Olowokandi, Minnesota Timberwolves; Alonzo Mourning, New Jersey Nets.
파커가 내쉬 보다 잘 한다란 건 그다지... 빌럽스가 왜 저렇게 높은지. 역시나 칸은 우승한 팀의 주전이면 무조건... 저런 글을 쓰면서도 밥 벌어 먹고 살 수 있다란 것에 굉장한 경의를... 혹시 누구 아는 사람이라도 있는 건지.-_-;
우승팀의 PG(아무리 파이널MVP이지만요)는 저렇게 올려놓고 우승의 다른 1등공신인 상어막는 야수는 왜 7위인 겁니까!!
샌안토니오 3인방의 압박.. 던컨 파포 1위에 혼자 흐뭇해하고 있습니다ㅡvㅡb;;;;;
포인트가드에는 제이슨윌리엄스가 없네요.....충격이야.그리고 왜 벤월라스가 7위냐고요....이거 완전히 개인적인 글이요.괜히 봤어....-_-;;
말도 안돼-_-; 어찌 피어스가 아테스트한테 밀리지--?; 아무리 주관적이라지만 너무 막쓴듯-_-++
쭉~ 봐왔느데;; 별로군요;;
