Job Function |
QCT's software applications engineers support customers with understanding, integrating, testing and optimizing performance of software features for ASICs supporting a variety of air interfaces and other related technologies including multimedia. The role requires interfacing with handset developers, Training, publishing application notes, assisting customers with software integration, development, and system debugging, are some of the key daily activities in this role. It is a very challenging position requiring the candidate to learn and internalize QCT software and operation concepts very quickly, supporting a wide range of software discussion (e.g. ranging from low level embedded software issues to carrier level features deployment and planning). Some travel for on-site customer support may be required.

Skills/Experience |
Key skills include * Minimum of 2 years of WLAN device driver programming experiences are essential * Familiarity with QCT AMSS platform * Strong software debugging skills on embedded real time operating systems * Strong experience in C/C++ programming, systems knowledge or background applicable to IEEE 802.11 * Knowledge of WLAN/BT RF testing and coexistence issues
The candidate is expected to have strong communication and interpersonal skills, high motivation, the ability to learn quickly, and must be a self-starter.
Additional Skills: * Prior experience with mobile devices and technical support for customers desirable. * Prior Android / Linux open source programming discipline is a plus * Familiarity with ARM architecture, ARM assembly, emulators/JTAG-debuggers. * Ability to work as part of a dedicated project team and independently essential.

Responsibilities |
This position is responsible for WLAN Drivers for our family of WiFi chipsets. The role requires interfacing with handset OEMs, internal software developers and system testers. Training, assisting customers with software design, integration, development, system debugging, handling customer Q&A, and interfacing closely with internal developers are some of the key activities in this position. This candidate will be responsible for driving OEM designs and the integration of system level components into customer handset designs.
