[Aug. 21] A writing in blood by Park Sung-Su (Dungree)…"Ex Chief of the Seogwipo Police Station should be immediately resigned!"

This morning, Dungree, a video activist, as well as a human rights activist in Gangjeong protested with the writing of his blood in front of the Kunsan Police station where Lee Dong-Min, ex-chief of the Seogwipo Police Station has been recently transferred. As a citizen born in Kunsan(where a large US Airbase exists), Dungree says he cannot stand that Lee whose record on the oppression of Gangjeong villagers and activists has been highest has moved to his birth city. 

Lee Dong-Min, a mainland man, was inaugurated as a chief of the Seogwipo Police station in Feb. 2012 and recently transferred to Kunsan. With his inauguration, the blast of the Gureombi Rock started despite the opposition even by the members of the Jeju branch of the ruling conservative party. During his term, numerous human rights violation occurred, reminding the 2nd April 3rd incident(1947 to 1954)

Dungree says, “Thinking Yang Yoon-Mo, Kim Young-Jae, Song Kang-Ho, Park Do-Hyun who suffer from the prison.. and Gangjeong villagers who have suffered for seven years by a pushed national policy project, I have been in the Kunsan station this morning. Though it is a scene of detest, I think we are living in the period of such urgency.. Can our generation end the paradox of an era when we have to take blood while crying for peace.. Can we not inherit karma to our descendant? Anyhow, I am determined not to be silent on Lee Dong-Min, who has recklessly oppressed Gangjeong!”

In the press release written in the name of Kang Dong-Kyun, mayor of the Gangjeong village on Aug. 19, it reads:

“The citizens’ injuries occurred during the term of the Lee Dong-Min as a chief of the Seogwipo Police station has been highest. At least four people have been broken with bones by police violence. Still they have been threatened of arrest not to mention hospital cost in compensation. (http://cafe.daum.net/peacekj/THPa/13)

It should be also noted that about 30 people in Gangjeong have been swooned and carried to hospital under the term of Lee Dong-Min. 

Dungree also wrote in his writing on April 15:

In the [two court decision] statements, it reads that Lee Dong-Min has ordered hundred times in the field on the ‘forceful Gochak (a detention by police encircling) during his term. The statements also say it was ‘arrest in substance,’ and ‘illegal and unjust.” Even though many citizens including lawyers have protested on Lee's order, demanding Lee to identify a specific law execution basis, Lee just ignored that and enforced such illegal arrests on behalf of the interest of construction companies.

Dungree is also determined to stage a campaign against Park Hyun-Joon, a public security prosecutor who has indicted many Gangjeong villagers and activists and now transferred to Seoul Central Prosecutor Office before October.
