BIGBANG Winning EMA's as Best Worldwide Act!

On November 6th, the European Music Awards had been held in Belfast, Ireland and the winners have finally been announced after an astounding amount of 158 million votes total.

Next to international stars that have been know for long, such as Lady Gaga, Linkin Park and Justin Bieber, South Korean boy-group BIGBANG also managed to earn one of the precious trophies!

In the category "Worldwide Act", the five members, who also released the only non-English speaking EP in the US to ever hit the top 100 within the iTunes charts, received the most votes. They showed that their popularity eventually reaches past their home country and past Asia into the world.

La agrupación surcoreano se lleva el primer premio MTV EMA por Best World Wide Act, categoría en la que también estaba compitiendo los peruanos Ádammo.

Momento histórico. Por primera vez en la historia de los premios MTV Europe Music Awards (EMA) una banda de Corea del Sur se lleva un premio a casa.

No podían ser otros que los imparables chicos de Big Bang, quienes se impusieron la recién estrenada categoría de Mejor Acto Mundial (Best World Wide Act).

Tras una extensa selección virtual a nivel mundial –y gracias a los millones de votos de sus fanáticos en la red-, Big Bang logró imponerse primero en la región Asia y Pacífico, dejando atrás a Agnes Monica (Indonesia), Exile (Japón), Gotye (Australia), Jane Zhang (China), Jay Chou (Taiwán) y Sia (Australia).

Quienes también pasaron a la elección final fueron los marroquíes Abdelfattah Grini por África, Medio Oriente y India, los alemanes Lena por Europa, los brasileños Restart por Latinoamérica y la estadounidense Britney Spears por Norteamérica.

Finalmente, en la ceremonia central de los MTV EMA 2011, en Belfast, se anunció que la mayoría de votos cayó en manos del quinteto, convirtiéndolos en los ganadores absolutos.

“Esto es por nuestros fanáticos. Gracias por estar con nosotros en las buenas y las malas. Los amamos”, dijeron los surcoreano al recibir el galardón.

Los peruanos Ádammo también se disputaban el MTV EMA en la misma categoría, junto a grandes de la región como Babasónicos, Calle 13, Don Tetto. Sin embargo, ellos no pudieron superar a Restart de Brasil.

Tras conocerse los resultados, el baterísta de Ádammo, Diego Ubierna, escribió en su cuenta oficial en Twitter: "Latinoamérica hizo un gran trabajo. Este año le tocó ganar a Asia, pero el próximo será nuestro, latinos".

Belfast - Boyband asal Korea, Big Bang, berhasil mencatat sejarah setelah mendapatkan sebuah penghargaan di MTV Europe Music Awards 2011 untuk kategori "Best Worldwide Act", Minggu (6/11) malam waktu setempat.

Perhelatan penghargaan bagi para musikus dan penyanyi internasional tersebut digelar di Belfast, Irlandia.

Big Bang --yang menyisihkan Agnes Monica untuk kategori Asia Pacific-- berhasil mengungguli 4 musisi lain yang mewakili wilayah masing-masing, yakni Lena mewakili Eropa, Abdelfattah Grini (Afrika/India/Timur Tengah), Britney Spears (Amerika Utara), serta Restart (Amerika Latin).

Sementara, Lady gaga mendominasi "MTV Europe Music Awards", menggondol sejumlah penghargaan untuk kategori "Best Female", "Best Song" (Born This Way), "Best Video", dan "Best Fan Categories".

"Terima kasih karena telah mempercayai visi saya. Sukses Born This Way telah mengubah hidup saya," ujar Lady Gaga, seperti dilansir The Hollywood Reporter.

Justin Bieber, yang dalam sepekan terakhir harus dihadapkan dengan tudingan menghamili seorang wanita yang lebih tua dari usianya, meraih dua penghargaan, "Best Male" dan "Best Pop.

Bruno Mars memenangkan kategori "Best Push" dan "Best New Categories", sementara Thirty Seconds to Mars meraih "Best Alternative Performers".

Không chỉ được thấy 5 chàng trai bên nhau, fan còn có một niềm vui khác khi Big Bang là nghệ sĩ chiến thắng ở hạng mục Worldwide Act - một hạng mục mới, nhằm vinh danh nghệ sĩ nổi tiếng và được yêu thích trên toàn thế giới của MTV châu Âu, diễn ra tối 6/11 ở Belfast, Ireland.

Để có được danh hiệu này, Big Bang đã phải vượt qua 2 vòng bình chọn. Ở mỗi khu vực, người hâm mộ sẽ bầu nghệ sĩ xuất sắc nhất dựa trên 7 đại diện do MTV đưa ra. Cùng "cạnh tranh" với Big Bang ở khu vực châu Á - Thái Bình Dương có những cái tên như Exile (Nhật), Châu Kiệt Luân (Đài Loan), Gotye (Australia), Trương Lương Dĩnh (Trung Quốc) và Agnes Monica (Indonesia).

MANILA, Philippines – Korean boy band Big Bang scored a big upset at the MTV Europe Music Awards when they bagged the Worldwide Act award.

And for the first time in months, all five members of the band were reunited following the scandals involving Daesung and G-Dragon.

The boys were at the ceremony—broadcast live from Belfast, Northern Ireland—to accept the award.

“It’s amazing. Thank you so much,” said leader G-Dragon on stage.

Big Bang won the award over Britney Spears (North America), Abdelfattah Grini (Africa/India/Middle East), Lena (Europe), and Restart (Latin America).

“This is only because of our fans [who were with us] through the ups and downs. Thank you for standing by us. Thank you MTV,” said member Taeyang.

Lady Gaga brought home four awards: Best Female Act, Best Song, Best Video, and Biggest Fans.

Band 30 Seconds to Mars won the Best Alternative and Best World Stage.

Bruno Mars bagged the Best Push and Best New and Justin Bieber snagged the Best Male and Best Pop awards.

Other winners are: Best Hip Hop – Eminem; Best Live – Katy Perry; Best Rock – Linkin Park; Queen – Global Icon award.

The MTV EMA was the first public appearance of G-Dragon and Daesung since their scandals.

It was a sweet victory and redemption for Big Bang, which had been under intense public scrutiny since Daesung and G-Dragon were involved in two incidents that threatened their careers.

Daesung had been on hiatus since he got involved in a car accident on May 31. He was investigated for running over a motorcyclist. Authorities eventually cleared him in the case.

On the other hand, G-Dragon hid from the public eye after it was announced last month that he tested positive for marijuana use.

The Big Bang leader admitted smoking marijuana and prosecutors did not charge him since only a small amount was found in his body.

He said a “cigarette” was given to him at a club in Japan in May. He smoked it but he threw it away after it tasted different.

Big Bang Wins the "World Wide Act" Award at MTV European Music Awards

After weeks of fan voting, Big Bang has been announced the winner of the "World Wide Act" Award at MTV's European Music Awards. The event was held today in Belfast in Northern Ireland. Congratulations to them as this is another huge step in bringing K-Pop to the Worldwide Market.

As another treat, all five members of the group were present to receive the award as well.

For their acceptance speech, G-Dragon spoke in Korean followed by Taeyang speaking in English, "This is only because of our fans, through our ups and downs. Thank you for standing by us."

After winning the Asia Pacific Category last month, they were up against many popular acts from around the world for this award. Big Bang nổi bật không kém Justin và Selena tại EMAs 2011!

Các anh chàng đã có mặt trên thảm đỏ EMAs 2011 cùng hàng loạt sao đình đám Thế giới.

Cách đây vài phút, lễ trao giải MTV Châu Âu (MTV EMA 2011) đã và đang diễn ra trong sự hào hứng của người hâm mộ. Những vị khách mời đầu tiên cũng đã có mặt trên thảm đỏ.

Cô nàng Selena ngày hôm nay đến khá sớm, cũng bởi vì Sel chính là "chủ xị" dễ thương của giải thưởng năm nay. Tại thảm đỏ, nữ ca sỹ của Love you like a love song diện bộ đầm ngắn màu trắng được thiết kế khá kín đáo nhưng lại vô cùng tinh tế, khoe được vóc dáng tươi trẻ của Sel. Trông cô nàng cứ như là một thiên thần vậy.

Queen & K-Pop's BIGBANG Are Only Non-North American Acts to Win

Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber were the undisputed stars of the show at the 2011 MTV Europe Music Awards, held Sunday night (Nov. 6) at Belfast Odyssey Arena, Northern Ireland.

Lady Gaga won four awards, including best female and biggest fans, a newly created category that celebrates artists with the most committed fan base. Her hit single "Born This Way" won best video and best song.

"I knew that this song was very special when I first wrote it," she told the audience upon receiving the best song prize. "This is the single most important song that I've ever written, the single most important album, and until now the single most important moment."

She also caused a small ripple of controversy in the otherwise slick, family friendly show, which is broadcast live. Referring to an earlier joke by guest host David Hasselhoff, who presented her with the best female award and joked that he had drilled a hole in his dressing room wall so women could watch him undress, Gaga told the actor that she had looked through the hole and "you do have a big penis."

A subsequent live performance of "Marry The Night," which saw the artist singing atop a giant half-moon stage set wearing a blue circular face mask, ended with Gaga mooning the 8,000 strong crowd.

"'I'm really smiling right now, but I know you can't tell. I've had a lot of Botox," Gaga said accepting the best female award.

Justin Bieber, who performed a two-song medley of "Under The Mistletoe" and "Never Say Never" won best male and best pop. Accepting the best male award, Bieber said that he had voted for fellow nominee Kanye West before thanking his fans, family and MTV.

Coldplay opened the show with a rousing run through "Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall," taken from their recent U.K. and U.S. No. 1 album "Mylo Xyloto." Other live performances on the evening included Bruno Mars singing "Marry You," Jessie J leading the crowd through "Price Tag," and host Selena Gomez with a rendition of "Hit The Lights."

David Guetta teamed up with Taio Cruz, Ludacris and Jessie J for a dazzling dance mix, while LMFAO began their colorful live set by traveling through the crowd in a revolving zebra shaped vehicle.

Footage of Red Hot Chili Peppers playing "The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie" was broadcast live from Ulster Hall, Belfast, where the band was performing. U.K. rock act and local heroes Snow Patrol also performed live outside broadcast to over 15,000 fans from a specially built stage in front of Belfast City Hall, as part of the show.

Big winners on the night included Bruno Mars, who took best new artist. "I've never been in this position," said the clearly delighted singer. "I don't know what do. Kids follow your dreams."

The award for best live went to Katy Perry. Accepting the gong, the artist -- who is currently touring the U.K. -- thanked fans for voting for her.  "It's really easy to download, buy and steal a song, but it takes commitment to go to a live show," she continued, adding, "I'm so tired but it's worth it."

Eminem accepted the title of best hip hop artist in a pre-recorded video. The inaugural worldwide act award went to Korean boy band BIGBANG, representing Asia Pacific.

Linkin Park won best rock but was not present at the event, which is broadcast live to a potential audience of over 640 million homes and 1.2 billion people. The 2010 MTV EMAs, which was held in Madrid, were watched by 22 million people with an additional 4.5 million viewing online, according to MTV. A total of over 180 million public votes were cast for this year's edition, according to MTV. The evening also featured a moving film tribute to Amy Winehouse, introduced by Jessie J.

"I never got to thank Amy for breaking boundaries as I truly believe without her I wouldn't be standing here today," she said. "She set a new standard for British female artists."

As previously announced, Queen was honored with the global icon award, presented by Katy Perry, who told the crowd that first discovering the band at the age of 13 was a life changing experience for her.

"From that moment on I knew who I was," she said. "I would not be standing here today without the power, the passion and the drama of Queen."

Accepting the award alongside band mate Roger Taylor, Brian May said: "We were at the birth of MTV. How wonderful for us to be here forty years later."

May and Taylor closed the show with "American Idol" star Adam Lambert joining the duo for a suitably epic run through Queen hits "The Show Must Go On," We Will Rock You" and "We Are The Champions."

Lady Gaga took home four awards from the MTV EMAs in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

The eccentric singer - who performed while sitting on a moon sculpture - picked up gongs in four out of the six categories she was nominated for to win Best Female, Best Song and Best Video for Born This Way and Biggest Fan, a brand new award that celebrates artists with the most committed fanbase.

Justin Bieber, Bruno Mars and 30 Seconds to Mars each won two awards with Baby hitmaker Justin winning Best Male and Best Pop, Jared Leto's band picking up Best World Stage and Best Alternative gongs and Bruno taking home awards for Best Push and Best New Artist.

The surprise win of the night went to Korean boyband BigBang, who beat off competition from acts including Britney Spears to take home Best Worldwide Act while Eminem picked up the Best Hip Hop artist.

Katy Perry was presented with the award for Best Live Act and Linkin Park were voted as Best Rock while Jessie J presented a moving video tribute to the late Amy Winehouse.

Coldplay opened the ceremony at Belfast's Odyssey Arena with Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall while performances from Gaga, Justin Bieber, David Guetta, Ludacris, Taio Cruz and Jessie J got the 8,000 strong crowd moving.

Rock legends Queen, who were handed the Global Icon award from Katy Perry, closed the show with a medley of hits from their extraordinary musical career, accompanied by American Idol star Adam Lambert.

Selena Gomez hosted the awards while guest presenters included David Hasselhoff, Katy Perry, Evanescence's Amy Lee, actress Hayden Panettiere, supermodels Bar Refaeli and Irina Shayk, and 'Jersey Shore's Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi and Jenni 'JWOWW' Farley.

In a first for the MTV EMAs, two outside broadcasts were built into the show, with Northern Irish rockers Snow Patrol playing for more than 15,000 fans at a spectacular outdoor stage built directly in front of the historic City Hall while 1,200 Red Hot Chili Peppers fans were treated to a gig at Ulster Hall.

Ecstatic Korean boy band BIGBANG were the surprise winners at the awards, capturing the inaugural Best Worldwide and beating off some of the world's biggest stars in the process. Brit rockers Coldplay opened the awards with an electrifying, amped up performance of 'Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall', while Lady Gaga's sublime vocals for 'Marry The Night', performed against a giant moon sculpture, brought the audience to fever pitch. Global pop phenomenon Justin Bieber got everyone dancing after 'Under the Mistletoe' built up to 'Never Say Never' . DJ David Guetta set the Odyssey Arena alight with his spectacular dance medley featuring Ludacris, Taio Cruz and Jessie J, illuminated by a dazzling array of lasers and glitter balls.

MTV used every staging trick in the book to bring the 2011 MTV EMA to life, with lasers, LEDs, projections, smoke jets, outsize props, balloon releases, glitter cannons, dry ice, outrageous costumes and more harnessed skilfully to complement the artists' performances. Canadian pop sensation Justin Bieber on Sunday put rumours about his personal life to one side when he picked up two gongs at the 2011 MTV Europe Music Awards in Belfast.

Bieber on Wednesday vowed "vigorous" legal action after a 20-year-old reportedly claimed he fathered her baby, saying the assertion was "malicious" and demonstrably false.

The teen-heartthrob was also awarded the MTV Voices Award at a dinner on Saturday in recognition of his charity work.

Shock-pop icon Lady Gaga was the night's big winner, showing up in person at the Northern Irish capital's Odyssey Arena to claim the Best Female, Best Song, Best Video and Biggest Fan awards.

Hosts David Hasselhoff and Selena Gomez -- Bieber's girlfriend -- presented the awards to Lady Gaga, who was dressed in an eye-catching fan-like outfit, complete with extravagant headdress which obscured the singer's face.

Fellow American Katy Perry called her Best Live Act prize "amazing".

"I just played at this arena ten days ago," she added. "This is my favourite award because my fans mean so much to me."

rman sensation Lena fought off competition from British soul diva Adele in the race for the Best European Act but lost out to South Korea's Big Bang in the Best Worldwide Act category.

British rockers Coldplay kicked off the ceremony with a performance of "Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall", urging the crowd to "shout for Justin Bieber."

Flamboyant British group Queen were hounoured with the Global Icon award, which was presented to them by Katy Perry.

"They changed my life. The legacy of Freddy Mercury will forever be burning in the skies at 200 degrees," she said before introducing band members Brian May and Roger Taylor.

The current Queen line-up closed the show with a medley of their hits, while California veterans The Red Hot Chili Peppers played live from the city's renowned Ulster Hall.

Rapper Eminem took the award for Best Hip Hop Act, but was unable to attend Sunday's ceremony.

    报道称，经纪公司“YG”7日表示，当地时间6日晚在北爱尔兰贝尔法斯特举行的MTV欧洲大奖颁奖典礼上，BIGBANG荣获“全球风格表演奖”(Worldwide Act)。据悉，BIGBANG是首个在MTV欧洲音乐大奖上获奖的韩国歌手。

    “全球风格表演奖”是MTV今年新设的一个奖项，由全球网民通过“MTV EMA”官网在亚太、北美、拉美、欧洲、非洲、印度、中东等5个地区的提名歌手中投票决定最后赢家。
