영어가 어려운 것은 단어가 너무 많기 때문입니다. 예를 들어 ‘비용’, ‘수수료’ 등을 의미하는 단어도 ‘fee, charge, rate, rental’ 등 너무 다양하거든요. 먼저 fee는 ‘a charge that you must pay for professional services such as those provided by doctors, lawyers, consultants, tutors, schools etc. (변호사나 의사 등이 제공하는 전문적인 서비스에 대한 수수료)’라는 뜻입니다. charge는 ‘the amount of money that you must pay for a service or to be allowed to use something (봉사료)’라는 의미이고, rate는 ‘the amount of money that you have to pay for a service or for hiring something, especially one that is calculated on an hourly, weekly, or monthly basis (시간 당, 주 당, 월 당으로 사용한 것에 대해 지불하는 비용)’을 뜻하고, rental은 ‘the amount of money that you have to pay to a hire company to use something for a fixed period of time (일정 기간동안 사용하기 위해 내는 비용)’를 뜻합니다.
