The Christian Worship
1. What is true worship?
The apostle Paul described true worship perfectly in Romans 12:1-2:
1. “I urge you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God which is your spiritual service of worship. 2. And do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable, or well pleasing and perfect.”
This passage contains all the elements of true worship. First, there is the motivation to worship: “the mercies of God.” God’s mercies are everything He has given us that we don’t deserve: eternal love, eternal grace, the Holy Spirit, everlasting peace, eternal joy, saving faith, comfort, strength, wisdom, hope, patience, kindness, honor, glory, righteousness, security, eternal life, forgiveness, reconciliation, justification, sanctification, freedom, intercession and much more.
The knowledge and understanding of these incredible gifts motivate us to pour forth praise and thanksgiving—in other words, worship! Also in the passage is a description of the manner of our worship: “present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice.” Presenting our bodies means giving to God all of ourselves. It is not " Oh Lord I can give my body but do not give my perverty."
The reference to our bodies here means all our human faculties, all of our humanness—our hearts, minds, hands, thoughts, attitudes—are to be presented to God. In other words, we are to give up control of these things and turn them over to Him, just as a literal sacrifice was given totally to God on the altar.
But how? Again, the passage is clear: “by the renewing of your mind.” We renew our minds daily by cleansing them of the world’s “wisdom” and replacing it with true wisdom that comes from God. We worship Him with our renewed and cleansed minds, not with our emotions.
Emotions are wonderful things, but unless they are shaped by a mind saturated in Truth, they can be destructive, out-of-control forces. Where the mind goes, the will follows, and so do the emotions. First Corinthians 2:16 tells us we have “the mind of Christ,” not the emotions of Christ.
There is only one way to renew our minds, and that is by the Word of God. It is the truth, the knowledge of the Word of God, which is to say the knowledge of the mercies of God, and we’re back where we began. To know the truth, to believe the truth, to hold convictions about the truth, and to love the truth will naturally result in true spiritual worship.
It is conviction followed by affection, affection that is a response to truth, not to any external stimuli, including music. Music as such has nothing to do with worship. Music can’t produce worship, although it certainly can produce emotion. Music is not the origin of worship, but it can be the expression of it.
Do not look to music to induce your worship; look to music as simply an expression of that which is induced by a heart that is rapt by the mercies of God, obedient to His commands. True worship is God-centered worship. People tend to get caught up in where they should worship, what music they should sing in worship, and how their worship looks to other people.
Focusing on these things misses the point. Jesus tells us that true worshipers will worship God in spirit and in truth (John 4:24). This means we worship from the heart and the way God has designed. Worship can include praying, reading God's Word with an open heart, singing, participating in communion, and serving others. It is not limited to one act, but is done properly when the heart and attitude of the person are in the right place.
It’s also important to know that worship is reserved only for God. Only He is worthy and not any of His servants (Revelation 19:10). We are not to worship saints, prophets, statues, angels, any false gods, or Mary, the mother of Jesus.
We also should not be worshiping for the expectation of something in return, such as a miraculous healing. Worship is done for God—because He deserves it—and for His pleasure alone. Worship can be public praise to God (Psalm 22:22; 35:18) in a congregational setting, where we can proclaim through prayer and praise our adoration and thankfulness to Him and what He has done for us.
True worship is felt inwardly and then is expressed through our actions. "Worshiping" out of obligation is displeasing to God and is completely in vain. He can see through all the hypocrisy, and He hates it. He demonstrates this in Amos 5:21-24 as He talks about coming judgment.
Another example is the story of Cain and Abel, the first sons of Adam and Eve. They both brought gift offerings to the Lord, but God was only pleased with Abel's. Cain brought the gift out of obligation; Abel brought his finest lambs from his flock. He brought out of faith and admiration for God.
True worship is not confined to what we do in church or open praise (although these things are both good, and we are told in the Bible to do them). True worship is the acknowledgment of God and all His power and glory in everything we do. The highest form of praise and worship is obedience to Him and His Word. To do this, we must know God; we cannot be ignorant of Him (Acts 17:23). Worship is to glorify and exalt God—to show our loyalty and admiration to our Father.
2. "What is a biblical theology of worship?"
Recently, there is a renewed focus on worship—what it is and how it is to be done. The church that does not operate under the biblical theology of worship is in danger of both failing to give God glory and failing to offer worship that is pleasing to Him.
Worship is only determined by God Himself, and not everything we do is acceptable to God as worship just because we are sincere or it makes us feel good.
Hebrews 12:28 tells us that we must “serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear” (NKJV). The Greek word translated “serve” here is a form of the word “worship” and is used 21 times in the New Testament in the contexts of service and worship.
Another form of the word "worship” is the Greek word therapeuo—from which we get the English word “therapy”—and this is most often seen translated "heal" in reference to the healing of others. In the New Testament, this word is seen in every case of Jesus' healings.
Other Greek words translated “worship” are prokeneuo meaning “paying homage” (1 Corinthians 14:25), sebazomai, meaning “to render religious honor” (Romans 1:25), and sebomai meaning “to revere or adore” (Acts 16:14).
We see this same word used by Jesus to describe the vain, hypocritical worship of God (Matthew 15:9), leading us to the conclusion that not all “worship” is acceptable to God.
But true biblical worship is to be first and foremost reverent (Hebrews 12:28).
The word is means it is to be done with the understanding of who it is being worshiped. God is holy, just, righteous, perfect, powerful, loving, wrathful etc. Those who wish to worship biblically must worship God as He is revealed in Scripture.
We must worship in truth (John 4:24). This means that it needs to line up according to the truths in Scripture. Adding our own version of worship and “expressing ourselves” is not true worship if it does not accord with the Word of God.
Personal expressions of worship are not indicated anywhere in Scripture and can lead to activities that are not God-honoring. True worship is worship in Spirit. Because God is Spirit, true worship is a pure, holy, spiritual worship, the offering of the soul and the homage of the heart rather than merely that of the lips.
True worship will always produce a change in the heart of the worshipper, causing a greater desire to love and obey the God we worship. If worship does not propel us into greater obedience, it isn't worship.
3.. "What are the ingredients to a truly biblical worship service?"
Humans are instinctively worshiping creatures. The psalmist best expressed this when he wrote, “As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God” (Psalm 42:1).
As far back as the time of Cicero of the first century B.C., it was observed that religion, regardless of its form, was a universal trait of man. Seeing that men are going to worship something or someone, we must ask what is worship, whom and how shall we worship?
What constitutes a biblical worship service, and, most importantly, will we be “true worshipers” (John 4:23) or false worshipers? True worship involves a deep sense of religious awe that expresses itself in acts of devotion and service.
The English word “worship” literally means “worth-ship,” denoting a being or object deemed worthy of devotion. Christ commanded that true worshipers worship in spirit and in truth (John 4:24).
The apostle Paul explained that we worship by the Spirit of God (Philippians 3:3), meaning that true worship comes only from those who have been saved by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and have the Holy Spirit living in their hearts.
Worshiping in spirit also means with the proper heart attitude, not simply adhering to rites and rituals. To worship in truth means worshiping according to what God has revealed about Himself in Scripture.
In order for our worship to truly be biblical, it must not go beyond that which is authorized by the Bible (Leviticus 10:1; 1 Corinthians 4:6), abiding within the doctrine of Christ (2 John 9; see also Deuteronomy 4:12, 12:32; Revelation 22:18-19).
The first-century church engaged in several devotional acts in their worship services, from which we can determine what makes up a truly biblical worship service. Early Church engaged ingredients in several devotional acts in their worship services was praise prayer preaching offering Lord's supper, baptism.
The ingredients of worship divide two part "devoting constituents to God" and " receiving constituent from God" The devoting constituents are 3 kinds as praise, prayer, offering. The receiving constituents are 3kinds as sermon, Lord's supper, baptism. This time, we study only praise, prayer, preaching, offering but another time, we study Lord's supper, baptism.
1) Prayer as devoting constituent.
Our prayers should be directed only to God (Nehemiah 4:9; Matthew 6:9), never to any dead person as in the practice of Catholicism. We are not authorized to use devices such as rosary beads or Buddhist “prayer wheels”. Most importantly, our prayers must be in harmony with the will of God.
The intercession prayer pray for a the worship preacher, worshipers, the prayer title of church in the congregation worship. The intercession prayer refrain the prayer like preaching, the prayer like testimony, the euphuistical prayer for Listener. Long time intercession prayer not only test a patient of audience but also disturb worship.
2). Praise as devoting constituent.
We are authorized to sing. The apostle Paul commands us to “speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ” (Ephesians 5:19-20).
Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise--the fruit of lips that confess his name.(Heb13:15). I will praise God's name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving. This will please the LORD more than an ox, more than a bull with its horns and hoofs (Psalms 69:30-31) Praise is a sacrifice and the fruit of lips that to confess of my faith. God is pleased to receive praise.
Current in the worship, the Gospel song or Hill song are main praise. We can sing Gospel song or Hill song also. However, the important spiritual songs is hymn in worship. Today the church has lost the hymn. Under the influence of the American liberal church, the world Church have lost Hymn in the worship service. And Gospel dong or hill sons that stimulate emotion are mainly worship song. The hymn is tradition but Gospel song and Hill song are ephemeral trend.
Each country and each church and each generation has different favorite gospel song difference. Also gospel song, hill song worship song disappear according to pass time. Hymns is confession that deep faith of our forefather to God. And hymns are worldwide. There are not light but spiritual weight. We should love and sing hymns in worship time.
3). Offering as devoting constituent.
On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with his income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made” (1 Corinthians 16:1-2). Our regular offering for the support of the Lord’s work is a serious responsibility and is part of true biblical worship. Our offering should be viewed as a thrilling blessing, not as a burdensome matter for grumbling (2 Corinthians 9:7).
Additionally, it must be stressed that offering is the only authorized method for financing the work of the church of Jesus Christ. We are not authorized to operate businesses, conduct bingo parties, hold pay-at-the-door concerts, etc. The church of Christ is not meant to be a commercial enterprise (Matthew 21:12-13).
The house of God is not asking offering to the poor. Offering is not to help the Church but we give thanks for the grace of a massive salvation and blessing to God. And thanks is to plant the seeds of God's blessing. One who thanks God will reap a condition of thanks more than he thanks like reap as planting. If you skimp on thanksgivings to God, God will be stingy about the blessing to you.
4.) Sermon od Receiving constituent.
Preaching are major ingredients of true worship. Our preaching means must be the Scriptures alone, for faith life and godliness (2 Timothy 3:16-17). The godly preacher will proclaim only from the Word and rely on the Spirit of God do His work in the minds and hearts of his listeners.
As Paul reminded Timothy, “Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction” (2 Timothy 4:2). A church gathering that does not include the Word of God as a major component is not a true biblical worship service. But current Church lost importance of the Words more and more. God's Word is pushed edge of worship.
In many Churches and Christian gatherings it is not unusual for God’s Word to be shortchanged. Music gives people the momently emotion moving but God's Word change soul. Pulpits have shrunk and even disappeared while bands and lighting have grown. But faith does not come from music, dynamic experiences, or supposed encounters with God. Faith is birthed through the proclamation of God’s Word (Rom 10:17).
Therefore don't emphasize praise or testimony than sermon in worship. Features of the last days church will prefer the praise and testimony than God's Words. Worshiper should receive sermon as given God's word to me. Worshiper receive a stimulus of soul and changing through the proclaimed God's word. To revive lost soul is God's Words.
And so preach don't preach experience of his life and moral life or worldly story but must proclaim the living Word like fire and stick. Preacher must proclaim The Word despite inconvenient to listeners. A doctor who give a cancer patient who dying drug for do not mind pain is a bad doctor.
The doctor must operate the patient and revive the patient's life even patient's pain. Like this a preacher who preach only blessing or comfort story to a soul who don't escape from sin will receive judgment of God. Preacher should proclaim God's words though it is favorable or unfavorable.
4. Where is the scope of the worship?
What is worship? we recognize worship, that is act of worship at chapel, at home, at prayer house and act of worship at some special place. However, the true meaning of worship will be our life itself.
Write to put this article on the doorway to a church. "Your life Worship begins from this moment you are leaving the chapel door." A lot of people, after Sunday worship, live no difference life with unbelievers during 6 days (one week). Then after 6 days, they come on again Sunday chapel worship to God in a godly figure. Such worship is that God was abominable worship.
In the Malachi 1:6-10, God very hate the hypocrisy worship that life do not match with God's words. So, God said "one of you would shut the temple doors". They are praying and worshiping while lying cheating stealing other people's things and hate and despise the neighbor, nevertheless there is no mercy, no forgiveness, yet they want to be a blessing.
In the Heb 13 said "Bearing the disgrace for Jesus, praise to Lord, to do good and to share with others are sacrifices" Our all life is worship in face of God. Real and integrity life worship
Unless we come out of it with a greater commitment to obedience, it isn’t worship. Jesus said those who love Him will keep His commandments. If we say we love and worship Him, but do not obey Him, our worship is worthless.
True biblical worship of the one true and living God is to be a lifestyle, not a moment in time (1 Corinthians 10:31). Just as they will be in eternity, our lives now are to be lives of total worship of God.
When we eat, sleep, work, serve, and live from sunup to sundown, all that we do is to be in a spirit of worship of God. We are not to offer temporary, experience-oriented worship on Sunday, and then lead a secular life the rest of the week.
True worship is offered to God from the depths of our inner being in praise and prayer, in song, in giving, and in living, but always based upon His revealed truth.
5. "What does the Bible say about the position of worship leader?"
Because the term “worship leader” means so many different things to so many people, it is always best to see what Scripture has to say about the role of worship and those who lead corporate worship. In this time, worship leader is a main superintend who Pastor and song leader for worship progression. True worship, whether corporate or individual, has several major components, as described in Romans 12:1-2.
First, the motivation to worship is “the mercies of God” which embodies all He has given us, none of which we deserve. Second, the manner of worship is the presentation of our bodies, including our hearts, minds, hands, thoughts, and attitudes to God. Third, our worship involves renewing our minds through the Word of God.
To know the truth, to believe the truth, to hold convictions about the truth, and to love the truth will naturally result in true spiritual worship.
Fourth, true worship is God-centered, not man-centered.
The purpose of worship is not to produce an emotional experience of worshiper, but worshiper acknowledge God’s enduring glory, mercies, great love and devote all of worshiper to God. So the first duty and responsibility of those who desire to lead others in worship must be to first understand the nature of worship itself.
Although the New Testament does not name “worship leader” as one of Christ’s gifts for the edification of the church (Ephesians 4:11-12), worship leaders are a very important position in the modern church.
If the worship leader is to lead, he must lead by example, and his life, therefore, must exemplify that of the true worshipper. As with all leaders in the body of Christ, his must be first spiritual leadership.
He must be the first to bow before God in humility and obedience. Just as the high priest had to sacrifice for his own sins first, so must the worship leader ensure he has scraped away the hardness from his heart and loosened the stiffness of his neck before he can begin to lead others.
It is the primary duty of a worship leader, therefore, to be aligned with God’s will and to be humble before the great and awesome God. He must lead in humility and genuine concern for worshiper.
It is the responsibility of the worship leader to ensure that it is not the music, nor the instruments, nor the presentation, nor the voices which are the focus of the worship service. Worship is bowing humbly before God and exalting Jesus Christ as King of kings and Lord of lords.
The responsibility of the worship leader is to become less, that Jesus Christ can become more. Worshiper never be worshiped. And when all of this is done, when hearts are humble before Him, His people are ready to receive, and be changed by, the focal point of the worship service—His glorious and living Word.
6. "How much of a priority should worship be in the church?"
Answer: If someone were to save our life, gratitude would be the response. When we are given a gift that we could never afford, we make our appreciation known. Worship is the expression of that gratitude and appreciation. God came as Jesus to save us. His love is without condition. Our worship recognizes His authority as creator of our universe as well as the savior of our souls. Worship, therefore, is of the highest priority for the believer as well as the corporate church.
Christianity is unique among religions in that it is based upon a personal relationship with God. Exodus 34:14 says, “Do not worship any other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.” The core of our faith is our personal interaction with our creator.
Worship is a very precious meeting time with God. If the president Aquino invite you and do you meet him with attitude as like as your worshiping attitude. Will you meet the President with a T-shirt, dragged sandals, does not wash face ?
Worship is that Jesus who King of King and almighty God invite you at worship place. The guest who without wedding clothes is threw into the outside darkness (Mat 22:12). If you think neglect the worship will be excluded from salvation.
Worship is an act celebrating that personal relationship with God. Through worship, we communicate with our God. Through worship, we acknowledge His lordship and divinity. Whether expressed through music, shouting, prayer or other means, worship is, at its core, the expression of intimacy with God.
While we are to live in obedience to God’s commands, it is not a cold, mindless obedience that He desires. Deuteronomy 6:5 says, “Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.”
First John 3:24 says, “Those who obey his commands live in him, and he in them.” Each member of the church is called to worship God. Each of us is to spend time in prayer, speaking to God from the heart. We are to read His words in the Scriptures and meditate on them in our hearts.
Private time of worship is essential to our personal spiritual maturity. As a body of believers, we are to be consistently involved in worship through singing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs, through prayer, through gaining knowledge of the Word, and through the exercise of our spiritual gifts for the benefit of the church and the Kingdom of God. Worship is of the highest priority for the church.
7. "Why is corporate worship important?"
Scripture is clear that Jesus died for the church (Acts 20:28; Ephesians 5:25) and that the church is His body (Romans 12:5; 1 Corinthians 10:17; 12:12-27; Ephesians 1:23; 4:12; 5:30; Colossians 1:18, 24; Hebrews 13:3). Participation in a church is essential to the spiritual health of individual Christians.
So, why should Christians attend church? First of all, attendance at corporate gatherings is a biblical mandate. Hebrews 10:24-25 tells us not to give up meeting together. It’s significant that the recipients of this letter were under the threat of persecution. Public church attendance could open them up to abuse. The command indicates that the benefits of attendance outweigh any possible threat.
The Christian life was never meant to be solitary. All of the biblical metaphors for a church indicate a plurality, never a singularity: we are a body, a flock, a building, and a holy nation. There are no “lone wolves” in biblical Christianity.
A second reason for church attendance is the array of spiritual blessings it bestows. Negatively speaking, church attendance helps prevent backsliding and apostasy. Without regular participation in corporate worship, one tends to drift spiritually.
Positively, church attendance promotes fellowship and encouragement. In the book of Acts, we’re told that those who came to faith in the early days “continued steadfastly in fellowship” (2:42). The Hebrews passage mentioned above reveals that one of the purposes of gathering together is to “encourage one another.” We all need encouragement. Corporate worship provides that for us.
Another reason for corporate worship is the public statement it makes. If we’re regular church attendees, we publicly demonstrate our obedience to the command to love God. To say we love Christ yet neglect His body is hypocritical. Regular church attendance also shows support for the work of God in the world—that we are for Jesus rather than against Him (Matthew 12:30).
Furthermore, worshiping with others conveys benefits that are unavailable to us individually. When we attend corporate worship, we hear the public preaching of the Word of God. Substituting a media ministry (radio or television) not only removes the immediacy of public preaching, but also fosters disloyalty to the church and a sense of isolation, effectively privatizing Christianity.
Church attendance also enables us to partake of the Lord’s Supper, the public proclamation of the body and blood of the Lord Jesus (1 Corinthians 11:26). Finally, regular gatherings with the people of God demonstrate that we have eternal life. John tells us that we know that we’ve passed from death to life because we love our brothers and sisters in Christ (1 John 3:14). Gathering together for teaching, worship and mutual edification is an indication of our love for the redeemed and is a sign of our salvation to eternal life.
8. "Should we worship Jesus?"
The answer to this question largely hinges on Jesus’ identity. If Jesus is regarded as deity in the same sense as His Father, then we should worship Jesus. If the New Testament documents identify Jesus with Yahweh, then we should worship Jesus.
If He is merely a prophet of God, the worship of Jesus would not be appropriate. Given the Bible’s insistence that worship is to be directed to God alone, any God-fearing individual will need a satisfactory answer to this all important question. The Apostle Paul called Jesus "our great God and Savior” (Titus 2:13), and points out that, prior to His incarnation, Jesus existed in the “form of God” (Philippians 2:5-8). God the Father says regarding Jesus: “Your throne, O God will last forever and ever” (Hebrews 1:8).
The Apostle John says that “in the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word [Jesus] was God (John 1:1). Other passages identify Jesus as the Creator and Sustainer of the universe (John 1:3; Colossians 1:16-17; Hebrews 1:2). Jesus receives worship several times in the gospels (Matthew 2:11, 28:9, 17; Luke 24:52; John 9:38, 20:28).
Jesus is never said to reject such adoration. Rather, He accepts such worship as well placed. So does the Bible portray Jesus as fully deity? The answer is certainly “yes”. With that being said, Christians need to recognize that the Bible also teaches the deity of the Father (John 6:27; Romans 1:7; 1 Peter 1:2) as well as the Holy Spirit (Acts 5:3-4; 1 Corinthians 3:16).
And yet the Scriptures teach that there is only one God (Deuteronomy 6:4; 1 Corinthians 8:4). How can this be? The Christian church has historically taught that the Bible is clearly portraying God as one Being who exists in three persons. This doctrine is known as the Trinity. Dr. James White, author of The Forgotten Trinity, has provided what we believe to be a helpful definition of the Trinity.
Here it is: Within the one Being that is God, there exists eternally three coequal and coeternal persons, namely, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We contend that this is the clear teaching of Scripture and should be affirmed by any biblically faithful Christian.
These biblical distinctions go a long way in providing the proper balance in Christian worship. We must remain conscious to not overemphasize our adoration for any one Person in the Godhead at the expense of another.
The Bible teaches that while the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit perform unique functions and have different roles, all three Persons of the Godhead are equal in power and majesty.
In summary, the Bible teaches that Jesus of Nazareth is nothing less than God the Son, the second Person of the Triune God (Trinity). In view of this, He is due our full worship and devotion. To fail to do so would be sinful.
9. Dance in worship - what does the Bible say?"
Dance is mentioned on many occasions in Scripture. The first appearance of God’s people dancing as an act of worship is found in Exodus 15:20: “Miriam the prophetess, Aaron's sister, took a tambourine in her hand, and all the women followed her, with tambourines and dancing.” This joyful dance to the Lord, led by Miriam, followed Israel’s crossing of the Red Sea and celebrated Israel’s newfound freedom from slavery.
However, dancing is not always presented in a positive light in the Bible. Soon after Miriam’s dance of praise, the Israelites were found dancing before a golden calf in worship. “When Moses approached the camp and saw the calf and the dancing, his anger burned and he threw the tablets out of his hands, breaking them to pieces at the foot of the mountain” (Exodus 32:19). On this occasion dancing was part of a wicked, idolatrous carousal. Thus, dancing is a mode of expression that can be used for good or for evil.
Other instances of dancing in the Bible Include 2Samuel 6:16, which has David “leaping and dancing before the LORD.” Also, the Amalekites danced in celebration after plundering Judah and Philistia (1 Samuel 30:16); theirs was a short-lived dance, however, as David and his men soon defeated them (verses 17-20).
The Psalms offer a unique look at dance as an act of worship. In Psalm 30:11, the psalmist says, “You turned my wailing into dancing.” Psalm 149:3 encourages the use of dancing to worship God: “Let them praise his name with dancing!” Likewise, Psalm 150:4 urges, “Praise him with tambourine and dancing!” just like Miriam.
Some have argued that dance is an Old Testament form of expression. Since dance is not mentioned as a method of worship in the New Testament, Christians should not worship in this manner. However, this is an argument from silence and is not based on clear biblical teaching. Most early Christians were Jewish and likely would have incorporated Jewish forms of worship in their praise to the risen Messiah.
Another concern has been the association of dance with sinful activities. The idea is that, if dance is used in worship, it could be seen as approving dance in other situations that do not honor God. However, this is not necessarily the case. The Amalekites’ dancing in 1 Samuel did not prevent David from dancing in 2 Samuel.
Christians can and should utilize dance as they do any other art form such as music, painting, drama, or filmmaking. As long as dance is worshipful, God-focused, and praiseworthy, it can have a proper place in worship. Worship dance is a far cry from the seductive dance of the daughter of Herodias (Mark 6:17-28).
Finally, it is important to understand that dance in the context of worship is not simply self-expression. It should be done in a way that is helpful to the entire congregation. Paul noted that “everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way” in the church (1 Corinthians 14:40).
“Everything” would include the use of dance in worship. Anything during a worship gathering that distracts from a focus on Christ should be left out. Each congregation bears the responsibility to structure its worship service in a way that honors God and encourages those within their group.
And current Church unconsciously accept worldly culture. Young church members enjoy worldly dance motion. Music(Melody) is worship or Gospel song but Dance action is Hip-hap or Sexy dance in Church special number. We should be teach a piety Christian standard.
Dance is used as an act of worship in Scripture and can continue to be used in that way today. However, churches should take care to avoid dance that leads others to temptation or sin, and the focus must remain on worshiping God rather than drawing attention to self. When practiced in this way, dance is a beautiful art form that can communicate truth, bringing glory to God and edifying others.
