American Exams 미국 시험

The SAT exam consists of three major sections: Critical Reading, Mathematics, and Writing. Each section receives a score on the scale of 200–800; a perfect total score in all three sections is 2400. The beauty of the SAT exam is that a student can take the exam as many times as they like; not like British exams where you are only allowed to take the test once. The best score counts and improvements can be made over a few years. Dalat International School is an official venue for the SAT exam during one of the two exams scheduled in Penang, Malaysia each year.

AP courses are offered at Dalat on campus and online. AP courses count for college credit in the USA when the student receives a score of 3, 4 or 5 on the exam at the end of the school year.

SAT는 비판적인 독해, 수학, 쓰기 등의 세가지 영역으로 편성되어 있다. 각 과목은 200-800점으로 되어있고 2400점 만점이다.

SAT는 영국식 시험과 달리 얼마든지 점수를 더 받기위해 치룰수가 있다는 장점이 있다. 말레이시아 페낭에서 매년 2회 치뤄지고 있다. AP 코스도 달랏 캠퍼스와 온라인에서 제공하고 있다. AP 점수는 학년이 끝날 때에 3,4,5점을 받으면 미국 대학에서 학점으로 인정해 준다.

Here is a list of some of the top colleges and universities around the world and their basic requirements of students from American schools. 아래의 학교들을 예를들면 SAT점수가 몇점대이면 입학가능한지 알 수 있다.

University of Melbourne: SAT scores of 1968 and higher. TOEFL tests for non-native English speakers.	Monash University: SAT scores of 1710 or higher.
Oxford University: SAT of 2100 or higher. Three AP courses with grades 4 or 5.	Cambridge University: High SAT scores and high school GPA (grade point average). Three AP courses with grades of 5.
University of Toronto: High SAT scores and GPA. Three AP courses with grades of 4 or 5.	University of British Columbia: 4 years of English to Senior level, 3 years of Math, 3 other Senior level academic courses.
National University of Singapore: SAT scores of 2100 or higher.	Singapore Management University: SAT scores of 1900 or higher.
