God is the One who gives rain to the good and the evil, and bestows grace. In today's passage, Jesus was walking through a field of grain on the Sabbath. He plucked heads of grain, rubbed them in his hands, and ate them. The Pharisees criticized him. Jesus then told them about David giving the bread of the Presence to those with him and declared that the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath. Jesus also healed a man with a withered hand on the Sabbath, prayed all night, and then called the twelve disciples. He told them to be blessed: the poor, the hungry, the weeping, and the persecuted. He told them to love their enemies, to borrow from them without expecting anything in return, to not criticize or condemn, and to forgive. Thank you, Lord.
