그러나 count one's chicken이 김치국물 마신다는 뜻으로 쓰이지 않는 경우도 있습니다. 아래 예문에서 이 표현은 '승리, 또는 성공을 장담할 수 없다'를 의미합니다:

She is refusing to count her chickens as she prepares for tonight's crunch women's Super League showdown with Wildcats.
