계곡 바위에 앉아 있는 내게로
아침안개를 헤엄쳐
언제 왔는지 오랑캐꽃이 찾아 왔다
 
저렇게 담백한 파란 꽃을 두고
두만강 북쪽 여진 삭풍(朔風)이
헤살짓는 오랑캐라니
아니야! 그래 죽어도 아니야
 
그렇게 파르르 떨 필요도 없어
그렇게 낮은 데 숨어 살지 마
그렇게 오종종 모이지 않아도 돼
 
아무도 널 위협하지 않아
아무도 왕따 하지도 않아
아무도 널 이방인 취급하지도 않아
 
애먼 꽃에 씌운
작명가의 잘못된 환유(換喩)였겠지
 
법원에 개명 신청했어.
넌 이제부터 <제비꽃>이란 말이야
네 닠은 <바이올렛>
괜찮지
 
제비꽃 넌
봄을 제일 먼저 품고 온 봄처녀니라
봄 씨앗을 물어다 준 제비란 말이야
 
너름새 좋게
내게 고맙다 오체투지하지 마라
 
너의 가슴 속의 시(詩)를 읽고
가슴 쥐어짜듯 행복한 건 외려 나이니

I never know when Olangkae flower came
Swimming through the morning fog to me
While I sat on the rock in the valley.
 
Who calls that simple blue flower Olangkae that was cruel to our prople with a piercing wind of Jurchen
From the north of Tumen River
Never! No chance in hell.
 
You need not shiver like that
You need not hide on the low ground
You don't have to flock together as ever
 
No one won't threaten you any more.
No one won't leave you in the cold
No one won't treat you like an alien
It'd be mettonymy of the wrong flower
used incorrectly by a namer.
I've already applied to the court for renaming
 
You are jebiccot in Korean from now on
Your nick is violet
Okay ?

You're a spring single woman bringing spring
You're a swallow
Bringing the seed of spring in her bill
 
Don't express thanks so much
By letting forehead touch the ground.
