우린 파블로와 노엘리아를 2008년 타이페이 탱고 페스티발에서 처음 만났습니다. 그들에 대해 들어본적은 없었지만 그들이 그랜드 밀롱가에서 보여준 깔끔하고 힘있는 공연에 신선한 충격과 함께 깊은 인상을 받았습니다. 그들은 기술적으로 강했고, 열정이 넘쳤으며, 자신감으로 충만했습니다.

작년에 우리는 그들을 베이징 땅고 페스티발에서 다시 만났습니다. 그랜드 밀롱가날 파블로는 음식을 잘못 먹어서 몸이 좋지 않았지만 그는 매우 프로페셔널했고, 노엘리아와 함께 다시 한번 멋진 공연을 보여주었습니다. 공연이 끝난 뒤 그들은 관중 앞에서 짧은 연설을 하여 모두를 놀라게 하였습니다.

첫째로, 그들은 베이징이 아직 매우 젊고 작은 커뮤니티이기 때문에 현지 강사들과 오거나이저들이 서로 돕고 함께 일해야 한다고 강조했습니다. 파블로와 노엘리아는 초기부터 베이징을 방문해왔고, 많은 현지 강사들이 첫 땅고 스텝을 밟을 때부터 그들을 지도했습니다. 땅고 커뮤니티를 키우는 것은 매우 어려운 일이기 때문에 그들은 현지 강사들이 서로 도우며 일할 수 있기를 바랬습니다.

둘째로, 행사 기간 중 그들이 어떤 스타일의 땅고를 추고 있으며, 어떤 스타일이 가장 좋은가에 대한 질문을 많이 받았는데, 스타일은 중요한 것이 아니라고 말하였습니다. 대신, 땅고를 추는데 필요한 테크닉이나 툴을 정확하게 배우는 것이 보다 중요하며 비록 시간이 걸리지만 일단 툴을 익히고 춤을 잘 출 수 있게 되면 스스로의 춤, 스스로의 스타일을 만들 수 있다고 하였습니다.

저는 그들이 공연 직후 관중에게 그런 연설을 할만큼 학생들에게 신경 쓰는 모습에 깊은 감명을 받았으며, 이러한 이유로 그들을 서울에 초청하고 싶습니다!

파블로와 노엘리아는 각각 16, 17세에 땅고 커리어를 시작했습니다. 그들은 아이치 국제 엑스포에서 일본 천황과 네델란드 공주 앞에서 공연을 선보인 매우 노련한 댄서들이며, 태양의 서커스(Cirque du Solei) 멤버들을 위한 탱고 워크샵을 지도하기도 하였습니다. 그들은 부에노스 아이레스에서 매우 유명한 댄서이자 강사이며, 매주 목요일 정기 쁘락티카인 Practica De querusa와 스테이지 댄서들을 위한 별도의 쁘락티카를 운영하는데, 둘다 매우 인기가 있습니다. 또한, 2006년 아시아 땅고 챔피언쉽과 2010 부에노스 아이레스 메트로폴리탄 챔피언쉽의 우승자들을 코치하였습니다.

그들은 매우 친절하며 밀롱가에서 춤추는것을 매우 즐깁니다. 돌아오는 5월에 걸음마중인 쌍둥이 딸들과 함께 서울을 방문할 것입니다!

Pablo Giorgini & Noelia Coletti

We first met Pablo & Noelia in Taipei Tango Festival in 2008.  We had not heard of them before but we were happily surprised and impressed by their clean and strong Grand Milonga performance.  They were technically strong, full of passion, and extremely confident.

Last year we met them again at the Beijing Tango Festival.  On the day of the Grand Milonga, Pablo ate something bad and was sick. but he was very professional and again did an outstanding show with Noelia.  After the show, to everyone's surprise, they made a brief speech to the audience.

The first thing they wanted to say was that Beijing was still a very young and small community, and it was important for the local teachers and organizers to work together and support each other.  Pablo and Noelia had been going to Beijing very early on and they had taught many of the local teachers their first tango step.  Growing a tango community is very challenging and they hope the local teachers can help each other more.

Secondly,during the festival they had been asked many times what style of tango they dance and what style of tango is the best.  They told the Beijing tango community that style is not important.  Instead, it is important for them to learn the technique and tools of dancing tango, and learn them well.  Once you can use the tools well and dance well, which will take a while, then you can make your own dance and own style.

We were impressed by the fact that they care about their students enough that they would make an effort to talk to the audience after their performance, and that is why we want to invite them to Seoul!

Pablo & Noelia began their tango career when they were 16 and 17 respectively.  They are very seasoned performers and were chosen to perform at the Aichi World Expo in front of the Emperor of Japan and Princess of Holland.  They have also conducted a tango workshop for the members of Cirque du Solei.  In Buenos Aires they are very popular dancers and teachers.  They run a regular Thursday practica called Practica De Querusa, and a separate practica for stage performers, both of which are extremely popular.  They are coaches of the champion of 2006 Asia Tango Championship and the champion of the Metropolitan Championship in Bunoes Aires in 2010.

They are very friendly and like to dance a lot in the milonga.  This May they will be coming to Seoul with the toddler twin daughter!
