Training Reflection

Through the principles of Ki-Mu offense and defense, we explored the true essence of martial arts.
The foundation of Ssangkum (Double-Sword) originates from these fundamental principles of Ki-Mu.

In today’s session, we focused especially on the precise use of the wrist.

Whether one holds a sword or not, the circle drawn by the wrist is the very source of power.

When this circular motion harmonizes with the entire body, it brings forth the most natural and efficient state of movement.

By observing carefully, one realizes that in every motion — from the smallest to the largest —
there is no part that is not shaped by a circle.

In contrast, the movement of those who are weak or in pain deviates from this accurate circular path.
Ultimately, we come to understand that the true source of human strength arises from rotation — from turning itself.

Here again, we recognize the eternal truth of “As Above, So Below.”
The law of heaven is the same as the law of the earth;
the principles of nature are the principles of human life.

Once we understand, philosophy is no longer mysterious.
When truth and reality are unknown, they seem mystical or metaphysical,
but upon realization, they are in fact simple and clear.

The laws of nature and truth are never mysterious or complicated;
it is only our ignorance that makes them seem so.

기무(氣舞)의 공방 원리를 통해 무술의 본질을 탐구하는 시간이 되었다.
진영쌍검류의 근본은 바로 이 기무의 기본 원리에서 비롯된다.

오늘 수련에서는 특히 손목의 정확한 사용법에 집중하였다.
검을 들고 있든 아니든, 손목이 그리는 ‘원(圓)’이 바로 힘의 근원이 된다.
이 손목의 회전이 몸 전체의 움직임과 조화를 이룰 때, 비로소 가장 자연스럽고 효율적인 운동 효과를 얻게 된다.

몸의 움직임을 세밀히 관찰해보면,
작은 동작 하나에서도 큰 동작에 이르기까지
‘원이 그려지지 않는 부분’은 단 하나도 없음을 알게 된다.

반대로, 아픈 사람이나 기운이 약한 사람의 움직임은 이 정확한 원의 궤도에서 벗어나 있다. 결국 인간 삶의 힘의 원천은 ‘도는 것(순환)’ 에서 비롯된다는 사실을 깨닫게 된다.

이 원리 속에서도 다시금 ‘As Above, So Below (위와 같이, 아래도 그러하다)’의 진리를 느낀다.

즉, 하늘의 이치가 땅의 이치이며, 자연의 법칙이 인간의 법칙이라는 뜻이다.

이해하게 되면, 심오한 철학이라는 것은 따로 존재하지 않는다.
진리나 진실을 모를 때에는 그것이 신비롭고 초월적인 것으로 여겨지지만,
막상 깨닫고 나면 그 모든 것은 단순하고 명료하다.

자연의 이치와 법, 그리고 진리는 결코 신비하거나 복잡하지 않다.
단지, 우리가 그것을 모르고 있을 뿐이다.
