Oak Tree & Moon

The oak tree dropped

An acorn on the ground

For the squirrels

Not knowing where it fell

The mother squirrel and baby squirrel

Are looking at each other

The oak tree keeps shaking its leaves

As if it feels sorry

To point out where it fell.

II

Today, the moon got caught

On the branch of the persimmon tree in our yard

It struggled to get out because of the wind ─

And it barely managed to get out

And is now going to the clouds

And the stars, and the sky

Yesterday, it got caught

On the branch of the persimmon tree

And had a hard time getting out .....

도토리나무가 다람쥐들을 위해

도토리 한 알

땅바닥에 떨구어 주었다.

어디로 떨어졌는지 몰라

어미 다람쥐 아기 다람쥐

서로 바라보고 있다.

도토리나무가 안타까운 듯

어디로 떨어졌는지 가리켜 주려고

자꾸만 나뭇잎을 흔들고 있다.

II

오늘도 우리 집 마당

감나무 가지에

달이 걸렸어요.

바람이 불어

빠져 나가기가 힘이 드는지

허우적거리더니

겨우 빠져 나가

구름과

별과

하늘을 가고 있어요.

어제도

감나무 가지에 걸려

빠져 나가느라 애를 먹더니 .....
