POSITION SUMMARY:
The Controller is responsible for directing all financial activities for the Seoul office in a manner, which proactively assists the line management in achieving its goals. Major responsibilities include superb ution of financial planning and analysis, accounting operations, internal controls and compliance with corporate policies and procedures. This position reports to the Seoul Office Head and to the Corporate Controller.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: -Proactively assist in the development of annual operating plans, quarterly forecasts, and three year plans working with senior line management. Monitor performance and establish review processes to help insure that the plans are met or that corrective actions are put in place. Avoid surprises. -Supervise all operational accounting activities. These include accounts payable, time & expense reporting, and billing/accounts receivable. Ensure timely invoicing and collections. Work proactively with the line to avoid write-offs. -Ensure adequate accounting policies and internal control procedures are in existence to provide control over assets and expenses, proper recognition of revenue (cash and equity), and timely and accurate reporting of the office’s financial performance. Enforce all Corporate and local financial policies (e.g. T&E, Capex, etc.). -Direct all aspects of financial planning and reporting. These include the development of relative performance measurement systems, the preparation of short-term revenue forecasts, staffing and utilization analysis, the preparation, review and presentation of annual plans, and subsequent forecasting activities including the identification of risks and opportunities. Also prepare and develop ad hoc analyses, which integrate multiple aspects of the business (financial, people, client development, etc.). -Provide advice and business insight to all levels of line management. Financial information must have the attributes of accuracy, conciseness, clarity and simplicity. -Supervise the activities and ensure professional development of assigned department staff. -Responsible for ongoing projects as assigned.
