This is pastor Young & Sun Lee who're serving Native Americans in Tuba City Arizona.

3월은 참 이상하게 느껴집니다.

일주일은 번개같이 지나가는데 3월은 왜 이렇게 길게 느껴지는지...

아마도 1, 2월 한 달여 외유로 인한 후유증이었는지...

따라잡기, 일상을 회복하기, 몇 가지 행정처리 등으로 인해 마음이 무거웠었는데 이제 아리조나주 당국의 행정미숙으로 해결되지 못한 한의사 면허갱신 외에는 990N이라든지(IRS에 소규모 비영리단체의 후원금 현황 보고), 한의사 연장교육이라든지, 대충 정리가 되지 않았나 싶습니다.

많은 일이 있었던 거 같은데 막상 돌이켜보니 아주 오래된 일들처럼 현실감이 떨어지네요.

어쨌거나 여러분들의 기도와 후원에 힘입어 이러저런 일들이 지속되고 있습니다.

This March feels weird.

A week goes by in a flash, but why does March feel so long...

Perhaps it was the aftereffects of being abroad for a month in January and February...

I was feeling heavy-hearted because of catching up, getting back to my daily life, and some administrative works, but now, except for the renewal of my Oriental medicine license, which was not resolved due to the administrative incompetence of the related state agency, I think things have been roughly sorted out, such as the 990N (reporting the status of donations for small non-profit organizations to the IRS), the Oriental medicine continuing education, and etc.

It seems like there have been a lot of things in this month, but when I look back, it feels like it was a long time ago and it feels unreal.

In any case, thanks to your prayers and support, things are continuing.

목회 사역

3월 한 달간 Bitter Springs Baptist에서 다섯 번 말씀을 전했습니다.

지난 3주간 로마서 강해설교를 위해서 매 주 초 선교카페에 영문 교재를 미리 올려서 교인들의 예습을 돕는 한편, 저의 부재시 교인들 스스로 말씀을 나눌 수 있게 할 수 있지 않을까 기도 가운데 도모하고 있습니다.

교인들이 어느 정도까지 따라올 수 있을지 모르겠습니다만 지금은 서로 익숙해지는 기간으로서 서로 다행이다 싶을 정도로 공감하고 있지 않나 생각이 듭니다.

이 기획은 당 교회를 위한 것이지만 자료를 축적하여 다른 원주민 교역자들이 사용할 수 있지 않을까 하는 기대감도 가지고 있습니다.

I shared 5 messages in Bitter Springs Baptist Church in March.

For the past three weeks, I have been posting the study materials in advance in the Mission Cafe at the beginning of each week to help the congregation study in advance for the expository sermon on Romans, and that the congregation could share the words on their own when I am absent.

I am not sure how well the congregation can follow along, but I think that we are in a good progress of getting used to each other in the beginning.

This project is for our church, but we also have expectation that the materials can be accumulated so that other indigenous pastors might use them.

My policy of this project is, Basic, Simple, and Insightful.

장마당사역: 무료 침치료 및 문서사역

3월 한 달간 네 번 출장해서 침치료 49(44+5)회, 문서선교 9회를 감당했습니다.

요즘 이곳 날씨가 아주 불순해서 한 주를 빼고는 흐리고 바람도 많이 불어 사역이 고르지 않았습니다.

그래도 의미 있는 진료사역이 이뤄지고 있으며 날씨가 따뜻해지면서 다시 활기를 찾으리라 기대합니다.

한국 방문 중에 진료버스가 시동이 걸리지 않는다고 들었는데 다행히 건전지 방전이어서 충전 후 잘 운영되고 있습니다.

Market Ministry with Free Acupuncture and Booklet Ministry

In the month of March, I went on four times and handled 49 (44+5) acupuncture treatments and 9 document ministries.

The weather here has been very unstable these days, with the exception of one week, it has been cloudy and windy, so the ministry has not been smooth.

Still, meaningful healing ministry is being carried out, and I expect that it will become more active as the weather gets warmer.

Malfunctioning of the clinic bus that I have heard in Korea happened to be dead battery so now it works okay after recharging.

방과후학교 무술지도 사역 임시 중단

3월 4일부터 클래스를 재개했습니다만 작년 가을학기부터 시작된 저조한 출석이 심해져서 일단 다음 학년도까지 중지하기로 했습니다.

출석이 저조했던 이유는...

동역자가 없는 단독사역으로서 저의 잦은 부재를 채울 보조교사가 없었다는 점.

시간대가 저녁 식사 후였기에 기숙사 거주 학생이나 통학 학생 모두 참여하기 어려웠던 점.

게다가 같은 시간대에 빈번하게 벌어지는 학교 체육경기 일정.

이런 상황에서 동기부여와 지속적인 참여 격려가 어려웠던 점 등입니다.

새 학년도에는 시간대를 학생들 귀가 전 공식 방과후학교 시간인 오후로 정하고...

무술 대신 주 1회 두 시간 한국어 학습을 하는 것으로 하면서...

혹시 학습에 참여할 교사들이 저의 부재를 채워주거나 고학년이 주도하는 자습 등으로 보강해보고자 학교 측과 현재 의논 중에 있습니다.

After-School Martial Arts Class Ministry Temporarily Interrupted

Classes resumed on March 4, but due to the poor attendance that started last fall semester, we decided to suspend them until the next school year.

The reasons for the poor attendance were...

As a single-person ministry without a co-worker, there was no substitute teacher to fill in for my frequent absences.

The time slot was after dinner, so it was difficult for both dormitory students and commuter students to participate.

In addition, there were frequent school sports games at the same time.

In such a situation, it was difficult to motivate and encourage continuous participation.

For the new school year, we are trying to set the time slot to the afternoon, the official after-school program time, before students go home...

Instead of martial arts, we'd like to have two hours of Korean language class once a week.

We are currently discussing with the school if any teacher who might participate in the class can fill in for my absence or supplement it with self-study led by senior students.
