Well, we know the word 'fed' is in relation to eating. If you eat and eat and eat, more and more and more pretty soon you'll be full. You will not be able to eat anymore. Well, the same applies to conditions and situations. Sometimes you have enough. You cannot tolerate. You cannot take anymore of some situation. In that case you are fed up.	fed는 먹는 것과 관련 된 것이다. 계속 먹고 더 먹고 그러면   너는 곧 배가 부를 것이다. 너는 더 이상 먹을 수 없을 거야.   이런 것은 조건과 상황과 관련이 있다. 때론 너는 많이 먹는다.   너는 더 이상 견딜 수 없다. 더 이상 같은 상황을 받아들일 수 없다.    이런 경우 너는 싫증이 난 것이다.
Ah, the word scrape is a word that implies a hard work. I might need to gather things together but there's not much to choose from. My options are very limited. In that case, I work very hard to get what I need. Scrape up, then, implies working very hard to get enough. It's not easy.	scrape이라는 단어는 매우 열심히 일하는 것을 연상시킨다.   나는 어떤 것들을 함께 모을 필요가 있을 지 모른다.   하지만 선택할 수 있는 것이 많지 않다. 내 선택은 제한적이다.   이런 경우 나는 내가 원하는 것을 얻기 위해 열심히 일한다.   scrape up은 충분히 갖기 위해 열심히 일하는 것을 의미한다.   쉬운 일이 아니다.
Well, this is not as difficult as it might be seen. Count up simply to calculate. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 arrive at some sort of total, to count up.	이것은 보이는 것처럼 어렵지 않다. count up은 쉽게 말해   계산하는 것이다. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7.. 일종의 합에 도달하는 것이다.   합계하는 것이다.
Last night, pretty late at night, 길동 and I were just sitting around the living room watching TV. Suddenly we both got hungry at the same time. I checked in my wallet. Of course it was empty. 길동, he doesn’t even have a wallet. So we had to look around the house and try to scrape up some coins and some coupons here and there. It was very (hard)… but we finally found enough money to order some chicken. Late night it was nice. After we got the chicken, we were eating and 길동 said to me, “Hey, John, I did dishes yesterday so you do dishes tonight.” I thought, “Hey, man, why are you counting up favors? That’s not cool.” “Don’t be doing that. I’m getting fed up with that idea.” Besides, I did dishes for a whole month before him. *at the same time 동시에 (=simultaneously) *cool 멋진, 끝내 주는 *beside 게다가, 뿐만 아니라 *do the dishes 설거지하다 (=wash the dishes) *count up favors : 남이 호의를 베풀 것을 미리 기대하다(책엔 없지만 방송 중 설명) (count up 뒤에 오는 표현에 따라 ‘손 곱아 기다리다, 미리 기대하다’의미도 있음) 어젯밤, 꽤나 늦은 밤에 길동과 저는 거실에 앉아서 TV보고 있었어요. 갑자기 우리 둘다 동시에 배가 고팠어요. 전 제 지갑을 확인해 봤어요. 물론 그건 비어있었고요 길동이는 지갑조차 없더군요. 그래서 우린 집안을 둘러보며 여기저기 동전과 쿠폰을 모으기 위해 애써야 했어요. 무척 (힘들었지만) 우린 결국 치킨을 주문할 만큼의 돈을 찾아냈어요. 늦은 밤 아주 좋았어요. 치킨을 받은 후 먹고 있는데 길동이가 제게 그러네요, ”잔, 내가 어제 설거지 했으니 오늘밤은 니가 설거지 해~.” “이봐, 넌 왜 남이 호의를 베풀 것을 기대하는 거지? “ “그러지 마라~. 그런 생각에 난 진저리가 난다구!” 게다가 그가 하기 전에 제가 한달 내내 설거지 했거든요.
