대화의 3분의 2를 듣는 데 쓴다

나는 이메일을 선호하는 사람이 아니다.
가능하다면 얼굴을 마주하는 것을 더 좋아한다.
나는 주로 회사 구내식당, 강당, 어디에서든 직원들과 얘기한다.
이때 나는 늘 3분의 2 원칙을 지킨다.
주어진 대화 시간의 3분의 2를 듣고, 그 질문에 대답하는 데 썼다.
이를 통해 반대자들의 목소리를 가라앉히고
많은 사람을 내 편으로 끌어들이는 데 성공했다.

The path to being welcomed by others is to talk less and listen more.
One of the main reasons for communication is to influence the
other person according to one’s will.
But ironically, this is better achieved when we listen,
not when we try to force our opinions upon others.
