미국 실업대책의 코메디같은 아웃소싱 이야기

올들어 미국 전역에 실업률이 10%대에 이른다는 보도는 전해드렸는데요 9% 실업률의 플로리다주가 실업자 구제 급식 쿠폰 서비스콜 담당을 미국에 소재한 정부가 하질않고 인도 방갈로르의 한 아웃소싱 회사에게 맡겨서 미국 플로리다 주민에게 해설해준다는 코메디가 연출되고 있답니다. 이에대해 미국인들의 분노는 두배로 치솟는 것이죠. 가뜩이나 나라살림이 거덜나서 우세를 당하는데 자기네 급식배급 문제를 인도의 회사가 해설해준다니 기가막힐 노릇이죠. 이런게 신자본주의의 모습입니다.

Abc NEWS/Money reports, among other things, that:
‘Several states with high unemployment rates are outsourcing their food stamp services to call centers in India, angering many residents. Michele Brown learned about Florida's outsourcing when she called regarding a problem with her benefits.

Americans have never liked the idea of jobs going overseas. But for many, it's more offensive when taxpayer dollars -- including those in the federal stimulus plan -- go to create those jobs. And when those jobs deal with food stamps, unemployment insurance and other public benefits, well forgot irony, to many it's just downright plain insulting.[Ron: Outsourcing beyond the local community also INCREASES LOCAL UNEMPLOYMENT]

Unemployment in Florida is now 9.7 percent.

"Why is the state of Florida sending these jobs away?" Brown asked. "The thing that really iced it for me, I knew that JP Morgan had gotten bailout funds."

‘So she called her local politicians and then she reached out to her local newspaper, the Palm Beach Post. The paper did a story two weeks ago about the $50 million Florida paid JP Morgan in the last three years to administer the food stamps distribution’.

[Ron: Sooo, what is a Jewish owned BANK doing administering food stamp distribution? It’s supposed to be a bank isn’t it? Isn’t it enough for the owners of the J P Morgam Bank that their bank is licensed to create money out of thin air and charge interest [usury) on it!?!]

‘Those services include 24-hour customer-service call centers. Some of those calls were answered in Bangalore and Gurgaon, India.’

Ron: Those who think it unrealistic to advocate that government welfarism must cease and be replaced by local community centred caring and sharing need to explain exactly how the current state governance welfare system, as exampled by this case, is better.

The faults, profiteering and wastage of any centralised government welfare system should be obvious to anyone. First, centralised state systems cease to have real personal contact with those in need OR those funding the assistance. Second state systems involve much expensive and unproductive bureaucratic administration, ie unnecessary “middlemen". Third, the administrators are not directly accountable to the community members taxed to provide the funding for the assistance AND the bureaucratic and commercial costs of the (unnecessary) outsourced services. Finally, private third parties from outside the community MAKE A PROFIT from servicing the alleged need which, if the need is genuine, the local community should provide directly so that no one profits from acts of charity.
