Seaside School

Every morning

The sun, rising above the horizon,

Looks at the school

Welcoming the children first.

When the children in the lower grades

Recite the multiplication tables during study time

The waves run and recite them along.

When the children kick the soccer ball during recess time

The waves catch it with their chests.

Whenever the seagulls have a chance

They tell the children's dreams to the sea,

And the sea's dreams to the children.

The seaside school is warmly embraced by a pine forest

Where all the students' names are known

By both the teachers and the children.

바닷가 학교

날마다 아침이면

수평선 위에 올라앉은 해가

아이들을 맞이할 학교를 먼저 살펴 주고

낮은 학년 아이들이

공부 시간에 구구단을 외면

파도가 달려와서 따라 외고

쉬는 시간에 아이들이

축구공을 뻥 차면

파도가 가슴으로 받아 안고

갈매기는 틈이 날 때마다

아이들의 꿈은 바다에게 들려주고

바다의 꿈은 아이들에게 들려주고

전교생의 이름을

선생님도 아이들도 모두 다 아는

솔숲이 포근히 껴안고 있는 바닷가 학교
