“Rashard Lewis, he's my developmental coach, and he didn't see the floor for his first three years of his career,” Bryant said. “His third year he got his opportunity, and he turned out to be a hell of a player. Played 16 years, multiple-time All-Star, made a lot of money playing this game, so I think just understanding it's going to take time. It's a process, not rushing it.”

That mindset has already started to pay off during Bryant’s first postseason run. Even without a major role in the rotation, he has provided valuable energy, defensive versatility and depth for a Spurs team currently battling the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference Finals.
