Carrington Event was the most intense geomagnetic storm in recorded history, peaking on 1–2 September 1859 during solar cycle 10. It created strong auroral displays that were reported globally and caused sparking and even fires in telegraph stations.[1] The geomagnetic storm was most likely the result of a coronal mass ejection (CME) from the Sun colliding with Earth's magnetosphere.[2]
The geomagnetic storm was associated with a very bright solar flare on 1 September 1859. It was observed and recorded independently by British astronomers Richard Carrington and Richard Hodgson—the first records of a solar flare. A geomagnetic storm of this magnitude occurring today has the potential to cause widespread electrical disruptions and blackouts, as well as damage to the electrical power grid and satellites.[3][4][5]
[ 3 ] [ 4 ] [ 5 ]
| When It Happens, We'll Have Just 16 Hours To Prepare... Time Subtitle Machine Translation 0s Hello and welcome everyone. I'm your host Stefon Burns, space weather guy, 4s geoh physicist, geologist. And today we are going to talk about what is 8s happening with the sun and some of the profound changes that have been 13s occurring with the star in our solar system of which everything depends on. 20s Now we've been having some space weather recently uh and we've had some kind of 26s misses from the space weather. So right here we see our sun. This is current . … 32s imagery uh taken by NASA Solar Dynamics Observatory. We see this large dark NASA 36s spot. This is a coronal hole. This chronal hole has been on the sun for 점을 봅니다. 40s more than 10 rotations. Takes about one month for the sun to do a full complete 44s rotation. And uh these chronal holes drive regular . 51s bouts of geomagnetic activity because they structure the solar wind that hits 56s the earth and then earth's magnetic field responds. 1:00 So we've had this guy sweep by I think at least like a dozen times now. 1:04 quite a bit smaller on this rotation than it has been since January. 1:10 shrunk down a bit in January then reexpanded. It's similar to that right 1:14 now. Uh and these are well linked with earthquake activity, specifically high . 1:20 magnitude earthquake activity. So we just got out of a 7.8 규모가 큰 지진 활동과 밀접한 관련이 있습니다. 1:25 uh mega oh not mega quake near mega quake a 7.8 mega quake that or - 1:29 earthquake that struck the Philippines that was uh just a few days ago. 1:34 still an earthquake swarm happy as a result of that. This is about to hit 1:38 earth with its high-speed stream and we could see more earthquake activity that 1:41 follows. Now, before this coronal hole, we had this coronal mass ejection launch . 1:48 out from a 1.8 M-class flare. And at first glance, you're like, "Oh, boom. 처음 봤을 땐 "아, 쾅! 1:53 That's going to hit us." And well, the shock wave did hit us, though it was a 우리한테 큰일 났네." 1:58 pretty minor uh effect. We see the bulk of the plasma went to the southeast and 2:03 it stayed to the southeast. But what's interesting is that the past two solar 2:07 storm forecasts I've been given by Noah, both of them reaching G3 levels have 2:13 been extremely underwhelming. And I can't say what I can't say this 훨씬 약했다는 것입니다. 2:18 definitively, but it seems that the plasma that's recently been ejected from 2:24 the sun has been much more confined than normal. So typically it spreads out 2:30 and it creates this wave that spreads out. And that's why when we see 2:33 something like this, there's a forecast that's issue that okay, well, by time it , …" 2:37 reaches one astronomical unit or Earth's orbit, it's going to have spread out a 지구 궤도, 즉 1천문단위에 도달할 때쯤이면 파편이 2:41 little bit further, therefore therefore it will hit us. Instead, we only had the 2:46 shock wave hit us. And none of this bulk plasma hit us from this uh and that is 충격파만 받았을 뿐입니다. 2:52 what was expected at least for some of this bulk plasma to spread out, hit 2:56 Earth, and trigger a G3 GMI next storm. Before that, there was also a very 3:01 similar situation just about a week beforehand. Uh also paired up though 3:06 with a coronal hole, trans equatorial uh that swept through. It was tiny, tinier 3:11 than this one. Uh and that also was looking like it we were going to have a 이것보다 훨씬 작았죠. 3:15 G3 storm. Uh even isolated periods of G4. I was thinking it was going to be a G3급 폭풍이 올 것 같았습니다. 3:19 G4 storm was looking quite significant. We we didn't even get to G3 levels with 3:25 that. And what happened was those solar storms came in combined with this . 3:29 co-rotating interaction region high-speed stream and all layered 3:34 together and impacted us. And we can see that if we look here at our real-time 3:41 display and you see these these two impacts. So here's the one that was 3:46 earlier in uh June. This is the 5th of June right here. Okay. And we got up to 6월 초에 나온 거예요. 3:54 about 20 for our solar wind. So for the magnetic field, not super strong. 3:59 our velocity did go up to what about nearly 800 km per second. More like 700. 4:05 Density went up then it dropped. Here is where the second solar storm came in. 4:10 The one that we thought was going to hit us didn't hit us. Uh barely hit us. 4:14 Basically just a shock wave. Didn't drive any geomagnetic activity. 4:20 why am I why am I showing you all this? Well, this is just showing at least 4:25 these past two solar storms that the plasma stayed much more confined and 4:29 narrow than normal. And what this means is that if we were . 4:34 to truly get a big solar storm to launch our way, if this trend continues, 이러한 추세가 계속된다면 (그리고 실제로 그럴 가능성을 시사하는 증거들이 4:40 and there's some evidence that that's the case, if we were to truly get a 있습니다), 만약 4:45 historic solar storm to launch towards Earth, something like the Carrington 4:49 event under this uh circumstance, it's not 4:54 going to spread out and dissipate its strength. Instead, it's going to come in … 4:57 almost like a laser beam. Now, we don't know if that's going to happen or not, 5:01 but we are seeing some initial evidence that there is this potential for a solar 태양 5:08 storm to stay very very um tightly columnated, you could say, and hit us. 5:15 And that could trigger an electromagnetic pulse if it's sufficient 그리고 그 힘이 5:19 enough to hit the upper atmosphere. There's some characteristics required 5:23 for this to occur. I'll talk about them. Um, then that's the case. 5:29 moderator here saying that the sun can never create a EMP that hits us. 5:32 that's incorrect. Sorry, dude. We we we get EMPs all the time from these solar 틀린 말입니다. 5:37 storms. The question is just how strong they are. And with a sufficient strength . 5:41 solar storm impact, that could happen. Um, so that's one of the the big 5:46 concerns as it relates to modern society right now is that we do 5:52 get a large enough solar storm impact to trigger uh electromagnetic pulse because - 5:58 it's a super high velocity impact. I can show you an example of this. 6:02 have a just an animation. Okay, for a Carrington impact. Boom. Okay, you get 애니메이션이 하나 있습니다. 6:08 the magnetic field compression just going crazy. This triggers uh a huge 6:14 swing in earth's magnetic field. This induces strong voltage differentials in 6:20 anything large enough to host a circuit. You know, this flow of uh energy like 6:26 long transmission lines and then that can basically knock things out. If it's 문제가 발생할 수 있습니다. 6:31 really powerful, it doesn't have to be so large. the more powerful the EMP is, EMP( 6:36 electromagnetic pulse, the the less the uh the the the smaller the circuit can 6:43 be because the circuit's a flow of energy that connects, right? 6:47 typically you need like a super long transmission lines. 6:51 hundreds of kilometers. Um but with a sufficiently large one perhaps you even 수백 킬로미터에 달합니다. 6:56 get electricity starting to route within smaller circuits perhaps even within uh 7:02 technology [clears throat] that you have like a car like a electronic car [목을 가다듬으며] 7:07 batteries and everything. We know from the Carrington impact in 1859 that there 우리 … 7:12 were issues with the batteries that you had this huge EMP effect. 7:16 effectively the the voltage induced in these telegraph wires was really strong. 7:21 batteries caught fire. There's telegraph stations, I think at least one that 배터리에 불이 붙었습니다. 7:24 burned down. Uh we don't really know uh what the effects will be with the modern 7:31 Carrington event until it happens, but we know that's probably not going to be 7:36 good and we hope for the best, but we simply won't really know and we'll learn 7:41 a lot about this when it actually happens. That's basically the uh the 7:46 story. So we uh have this phenomena happening 이야기입니다. 7:52 right now where the plasma the storms the plasma storms being shot from the 7:57 sun seem to be more tightly focused than they have been in the past. The prior uh 훨씬 더 집중되는 현상을 목격하고 있습니다 . 8:02 prior data and the models you know show them expanding outwards which is why 이전 데이터와 모델들을 보면 태풍이 바깥쪽으로 확장되는 것을 알 수 있는데, 이것이 바로 8:06 they are forecasting G3 storms. And as you can see here we had a G2 storm right G3급 태풍을 예측하는 이유입니다. 8:12 there and we didn't have anything for this impact. super super quiet. Um, now 우리 … 8:18 just to go back here really quick, we do see that this will drive at least a G1 돌아가서 말씀드리자면, 이 현상이 약 8:25 GMX storm in just about two days or so. We'll get hit by that. We'll have a GM 8:29 by next storm, a minor one. Maybe it'll go to moderate levels, G2. It won't be 8:34 anything crazy, but uh we're well overdue for a - 8:40 Carrington event. That's the thing. We're well overdue for one. And I had an 8:44 interesting dream and you know take this for what it's worth but the the most 8:49 interesting dreams there's different um feelings and characteristics 8:54 characteristics with dreams sometimes they they have a different 8:59 quality to them and I've had precognition dreams that have come true 저 …는 9:03 in in very specific ways and not just like a general oh my my cat was asleep 9:08 and then two days later my cat was sleeping on the bed type no like very 9:11 specific situations and this is well documented for many many many people 구체적인 상황이었죠. 9:15 around the world over long periods of time. So we know for somehow this can 9:20 occur and it's not coincidence. This kind of felt like that. So I had this 9:24 dream about power grid failures and I don't know why because I wasn't thinking 9:29 about this. Sometimes I have dreams I relate to what I've been thinking about . 9:33 etc right or researching. I wasn't thinking about this at all and now I'm 9:38 kind of realizing what this story is all about. So, uh, that's what we're going 9:42 to cover in today's video. We're just going to go through some new research 9:45 that's been done on the on the sun, uh, highlighting some of these structural 9:50 changes that have been unfolding and how this may relate to a very significant 9:56 space event, aka a Carrington event, and how it could affect us here on Earth, 10:01 and how everything's converging towards uh, this possibility, it seems. 10:08 So, uh, let us get into it. We're going to start by looking just at this, uh, , 10:18 this article that came out today. And here it is. 10:23 So, u, officials announced a 10 gawatt data center gas plants for Ohio, uh, for 10:30 former Ohio uranium site. And this is from the AP. The US Department of Energy . 10:36 on Friday announced a public private partnership to develop a major data 10:40 center with its own power supply on the site of a decommissioned uranium 폐쇄된 우라늄 10:44 enrichment plant in southern Ohio. Uh it's expected to include a 10 gigawatt 10:50 data center and up to and up to 10 gawatts of new power generation 데이터 센터와 최대 10 기가와트 규모의 신규 발전 시설( 10:55 including 9.2 gawatts of natural gas generation. 10:59 Um and this is this article here is from March 20 26. There's been many other uh 11:06 announcements like this. We'll see how many of these data centers actually get 11:09 built. A lot of them have already been built, but the energy demand from these 건설될지 지켜보겠습니다. 11:13 data centers is massive um because it's just a tremendous amount of energy 11:19 running through highly advanced uh computers effectively, right? 11:23 chips, these AI chips and they require a tremendous amount of energy just for AI 11:28 that. But you also need a tremendous amount of cooling for these data . 11:32 centers. And right now we're in a plant that's . 11:36 warming up way faster than we've ever seen the geological record because of a 11:40 variety of factors. Anthropogenetic greenhouse gas emissions being one of . 11:45 the main factors for that. And then as that greenhouse effect takes place, any 그 주요 원인 중 하나입니다. 11:50 changes in the sun only drive that further, right? 11:55 all the energy coming in to Earth is from the sun. It's just a question of 11:59 how much do we hold on to here on Earth due to atmospheric compositions, cloud 대기 구성, 구름 12:04 cover, water vapor in the atmosphere, other greenhouse gases, etc. 12:11 the main greenhouse gas. We also have methane, CO2, there's more um so there 주요 온실가스입니다. 12:16 there's a lot happening, but the earth is getting hotter, hotter, hotter, like , 12:21 exponentially so uh more volatile with its weather. And there are these plans 12:28 to and they're already doing it, but these plans to create these data centers 12:33 that aren't tiny, but 10 gawatt hours or 10 gigawatts. For example, Ohio's 12:38 capacity right now is about 30 gawatts and that's peak summer generation. 12:43 they plan to put in 10 gigawatts and there's plans for probably not dozens 12:47 but hundreds of these. The power grids in the United States are really failing. 12:54 like they they are getting older and older and older. And you'll notice what … 12:58 they say here is that they want to put in 9.2 2 gawatt of natural gas 13:03 generation which is basically just an expansion of the old system. 13:07 putting in new decentralized for example small modular nuclear 예를 들어 13:13 reactors maybe like uh molten molten salt thorium reactors and having those 13:19 be disconnected from the grid and therefore supplying these en uh the 전력망에서 분리하여 13:24 energy just to a data center. They're going to tie it into the existing uh 13:29 network. And keep in mind with these data centers here, they are going to um . … 13:36 they are going to be running a whole bunch of computation that's not because 13:40 of us. You know, it's not going to be people doing a Google search and now . 13:43 it's in AI mode that's going to cause it to be 10 gigawatts of usage for this 13:49 data center, this single one. And you know, you add them all up, it's 13:52 hundreds, if not even terowatt hour, terowatts. Um, it's going to be all this 13:58 probably surveillance stuff that they're doing in the background that's going to 감시 활동 때문에 14:01 keep these things under load the whole time. 이 장치들이 계속해서 과부하 상태를 유지할 것 같습니다 . 14:07 So, um, so the problem is that these these data centers are going to get very 그래서, 음, 문제는 이러한 데이터 센터들이 14:12 very uh they're going to put a tremendous amount of energy and strain - 14:16 on the power grids. Meanwhile, uh the earth is warming up. that's going to 14:22 increase uh energy usage in general. And the sun is uh right now waking up from a 14:29 glyceberg cycle where it's been weaker. If we look at our uh solar cycle 14:33 progression here, we see we go back in time just a little bit. 14:39 cycle 24 being the weakest of uh the the most recent three. We have 25 here with 14:45 24 23. And you can see at the bottom there, but we'll go all the way back to 24개, 23개가 있습니다. 14:50 the late 1800s, early 1900s. Here was another solar cycle bottom. 14:55 like a hundredyear variation in solar activity. Roughly, it's like 8,800 years 14:59 called the Glyceberg cycle. We saw that go down and then we peaked 15:04 up. Solar cycle 19 being the strongest in a very long time going back to the . 15:08 American Revolution effectively. Solar cycle 3. You see that we went down. 15:12 We'll probably go back up again. It is possible that we have a grand solar 15:16 minimum. That's certainly possible. Uh but it's also possible that this modern 15:20 maximum period that we're in continues. And the gr the last grand solar minimum 15:24 was the mon minimum from 1645 to 1715. Okay. 15:33 some interesting things though have occurred just recently. Here we can look 15:38 at some heliocismic frequency shifts that have been measured for uh the past 15:45 uh few solar cycles. Okay, so we have solar cycle 25 here 24 23 22 and I also . 15:52 layered in planetary conjunctions. These are heliocentric outer gas giant 15:56 planetary conjunctions. So when you have two of them align up in the sky and so 행성들의 합입니다. 16:01 we have all of them for Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. 16:06 Now, I didn't find m much much of a connection with all these right there. 16:11 Uh, this is Uranus, Neptune, Jupiter, Neptune, Jupiter, Uranus, Jupiter, 16:16 Saturn, a whole bunch of Jupiter conjunctions. Basically, I didn't find 16:19 much connection between them, but you'll notice here we have the Saturn, Uranus, 16:23 and Saturn, Neptune uh double conjunction that occurred in a span of a 16:27 year. And then we see this huge oscillation in the low frequency band . 16:34 for solar cycle 22 one year shifted off of that double conjunction with Saturn - 16:42 between Uranus and Neptune. And there's a lot of research connecting the planets 16:46 and their influence on solar tides uh further down in the sun um with solar 16:53 activity. Now what this research paper in particular has shown uh and this is (이것은 16:58 the DOI link. I'll link this in the video description is that subsurface DOI 링크입니다.) 17:03 structural changes associated with successive 11-year cycles are becoming 17:08 even more progressively confined just beneath the solar surface because this 17:12 frequency band here, this low frequency band is indicating changes that are 이 … 이 17:18 happening below the surface of the sun uh greater than 3,000 kilometers. 17:24 mid-frequency band is for changes with the sun less than 3,000 km and the high 17:28 frequency band is for changes less than a thousand kilometers. So you see that …보시 17:34 our middle frequency band we have gone up compared to 24 but we are still quite 17:38 a bit lower than 22 maybe equivalent to 23 there. Looks like we're just about 17:44 equivalent there. U this data going up to 2025. So now we're like we've dropped 17:49 down for solar cycle 25 quite a bit. Our low frequency band certainly is lower 17:54 because we had this this anomalous bounce right there and a high point with 17:59 the low frequency changes. Then it's kind of settled out. 18:03 band you see that there is quite a big shift that's happened here. So we see 대역에서 상당히 큰 변화가 발생했습니다. 25 18:07 that our high frequency activity for solar cycle 25 has been pretty much 의 고주파 활동이 18:11 equivalent to solar cycle 22. Those solar cycle 22 has been much higher in 18:16 the mid-frequency band and in the low frequency band. And also as you measure 18:21 u 10.7 cmter radio flux and sunspot numbers we see that our sunspot numbers 10.7cm 18:26 for solar cycle 25 and our rad flux is lower than it has been for 22 but our 18:32 high frequency helioismic data is equivalent. So this is why they suggest 18:38 that there are structural changes associated with this solar cycle 25, 18:43 this newest 11-year cycle, uh being confined closer to the surface of the 최근의 11년 주기가 18:49 sun. And if you go to the very last page, basically 18:56 this is what they write. They write that we note that our results cannot be 19:02 explained by changes in the strength of the subsurface field alone which that 19:07 would alter the absolute sizes of the observed shifts. It would not change the 19:12 sensitivity of the modes to the activity. A change in the radial 모드의 민감도를 변경하지 않습니다 . 19:16 confinement of the field is instead needed. So basically what they mean with 19:22 that is that sunspots specifically uh and sunspot activity is not enough of 19:29 an explanation for this high frequency shift and that there needs to be some 19:34 tangent force effectively that's acting on the sun to cause these high frequency 19:39 changes. Now as I mentioned we've been having a ton of chronal holes in solar . 19:44 cycle 25. Typically we see these during the descending fi phase. 19:48 been seeing them during the maximum phase of solar cycle 25. 19:52 be altering the radial uh field. This would be the electric field of the sun. 19:57 This could be what's causing that. This could also be an externally applied 20:02 electric field from interstellar space because the sun though generates its own 태양이 20:06 heliosphere going out about 100 astronomical units. 20:10 is one for reference. um and it has a helio tail to it. It's still embedded 참고용입니다. 20:16 within the interstellar and galactic environment. 20:20 So if we go back here, we see that this Saturn, Uranus, and Saturn Neptune 20:26 double conjunction in uh 89 and 88 preceded this low frequency pulse 20:35 wave right there. And since then, we saw that solar activity decreased. And now . 20:40 we're starting to go back up. And some there is some research, not everyone 20:44 thinks this, but some people think this. I'm I'm more in that camp than not that 20:49 it is uh Uranus and Neptune in their orbital cycles that are responsible or 20:54 at least play a large part in determining glyceberg cycles. So we see 적어도 큰 역할을 한다는 쪽에 더 가깝다고 생각합니다 . 21:00 this biggest shift in this low frequency band right there when we had this Saturn 토성 …- 21:06 Uranus, Saturn, Neptune conjunction. Now, if we go here to solar system 21:11 really quick, this is interesting stuff. Uh, we'll just quickly show this, but if 흥미로운 내용이 많습니다. 21:17 we go back to that time period, go back to 19. 21:24 This is good enough right here. This is again heliocentric. . … 21:28 Here we are. This is heliocentric. Here we have Saturn. So, here's the 여기 우리가 있습니다. 21:34 Saturn or Uranus heliocentric conjunction there. And then you see 21:38 Saturn and Neptune here a year later in 1989. Notice the constellation. 21:44 Sagittarius. That's the center of the galaxy. This is the galactic center. 21:49 this is looking towards the center of the galaxy. And in general, you have 이것은 은하의 중심을 바라보고 있는 모습입니다 . 21:52 this triple conjunction between them. Now Uranus and Neptune occurred in 93. 21:57 So it took quite a bit longer. Um but we see here the three of them are all 22:02 clustered together with the galactic center in 88 and 89. 30 22:08 astronomical units out. Uranus is 20 astronomical units. Saturn is 10. 22:13 strong magnetic field. So the fact that Saturn can help bring these frequencies 22:18 in from let's say Neptune or Uranus, I think it's an important factor here. 22:24 well if we go forward to today now we see that we are having similar 22:30 conjunctions. If we go back to December, it was really like the 11th of December 22:35 of 2025, we add our Saturn Neptune conjunction. Okay? And if we go forward 22:42 to 2032, this is when we will have our next one. 22:48 So this will be a Saturn Uranus conjunction. So this critical time 22:52 period that was identified in 88 and 89 which seemed to correspond you know with 22:58 the data the 40 years of day we have it corresponded with this big low frequency 23:03 oscillation uh in the sun confined to subsurface layers uh less than or 태양 … 23:09 greater than 3,000 kilometers. So they're really deep quite a bit deeper 3,000km 23:13 into the sun. U that course you know that's all 23:17 connected together. Now, in 2026 through 2032, 서로 연결되어 있다는 것을 알고 계시죠? 23:24 we have these same conjunctions, though they're more spread out. So, how is that 23:28 going to affect the sun is kind of the the unknown. That's what we don't know. 23:34 Um, but with these changes now having been confined to the top 1,00 하지만 이러한 변화가 이제 지표면에서 1,000km 이내에만 국한되었기 때문에 23:42 kilometers, the magnetic fields there are more , 그 지역의 자기장 …은 23:46 susceptible, I would think, than ever to the influence of planets because they're - 23:51 right there near the surface. They're not buried deeper in. They are uh less 23:56 than a thousand kilometers below the surface, right? 23:59 especially when you consider the sun. 24:05 now we have this time period next six years where we're in the middle of these 앞으로 6년 동안 우리는 24:09 two influences which seem to have an effect on the solar dynamo. 24:13 have an effect on um these these markers of solar activity 24:20 and we could be seeing some really big sunspots rotate in. Now add on a little 24:26 bit more to this. The last big um solar storm impact that we had that 24:33 actually triggered a power grid failure was 1989. So here it is 24:39 uh March 1989 Quebec suffered a complete blackout. The hydroelect electric system 24:46 went down and this was a very big deal. The DST index, one measure of uh the 24:54 strength of a geomagnetic storm was589 nanotesla. 25:00 Now we have two other storms that were very powerful that also hit us uh in our - 25:05 historic record. I mean we have more than two but these two in particular 25:10 uh the Carrington event in 1859. This is the very end of August, beginning of 1859년 캐링턴 사건 25:14 September 1859 and also May 1921. Now the DST index drop for May 25:26 and for the Carrington event it was estimated to be 850 nanotesla to 25:30 negative 1,760 nanotesla. So Quebec March 1989 589 May . 25:39 of 1921 was97 nanotesla for the DST and uh for - 25:45 Carrington event it's like basically 800 to1800 somewhere in there we have just - 25:52 less data to really discuss it but look at the sunspot - 25:58 that triggered u the Quebec power outage in 1989 9. Okay, so this is region 5395. 26:10 5395 across its journey across the sun. See this mega sunspot. I mean, this 태양을 가로지르는 5395의 여정입니다. 26:16 thing's an absolute behemoth. Huge cores, tightly clustered. It had uh 19 큰 물건이네요. 26:25 solar flares that were greater than 5.0 m flares. And it had four solar flares 5.0m 이상의 태양 플레어가 19개 발생했습니다 . 26:31 that were stronger than 4.0 0x flares. So gigantic gigantic sunspot and the two 4.0배 이상의 강력한 태양 플레어를 네 차례나 일으켰습니다. 26:40 uh solar flares that launched chromass ejections that impacted that triggered 26:44 that geomagnetic storm which knocked out Quebec were thought to be from this 4.5x 26:49 flare and from this 7.3 m flare. But look at the other solar flares here. 26:54 You'll see this 15x flare, 1.8, a whole bunch of uh M-class flares. 27:01 4.0 zero X-class flare, more X-class flares. This list is very, very long, 4.0 제로 X급 플레어가 있고, 더 많은 X급 플레어가 있습니다. 27:07 but here's a a 6.5 X-class flare. That was on the 17th of March, but things got 여기 6.5 X급 플레어가 있습니다. 27:14 started off before the 13th of March with this 15.0 X-class flare. 27:20 effectively what happened was these solar flares started battering the Earth 27:25 with X-ray and extreme ultraviolet light, which charged up the ionosphere. 27:30 Now, this solar flare occurred from the limb as it was rotating into view. 27:34 it didn't launch a chronal mass ejection to hit Earth, though proton storms and 27:38 radiation storms started up and everything, but it charged up the 27:42 iosphere. Then, it kept going. So, when we finally did get some chronal mass 27:47 ejections to launch towards Earth, the global electric circuit was already 27:51 supercharged with plasma, making the overall effect of the solar storm much 27:56 stronger. And therefore the geomagnetic storm was able to induce these huge 28:00 power differentials and knock out Quebec. This is 1989. 28:05 And again the DST index for that one measure of uh the strength of a solar 28:09 storm of negative 589 Carrington event up to760. So way stronger. And we have good data on May 1921 that 28:22 supertorrm that was negative97 nanotesla for the DST index. 28:27 big difference between 589 and907. Here we see the biggest sunspot that 28:35 we've observed with like modern uh telescopes. This is April 7th, 1947 . 28:42 sunspot region 14886. And you see it's a behemoth. Now, it 태양 흑점 영역 14886입니다. 28:48 didn't trigger uh you know, we had some crazy stuff happen in the 40s, by the - 28:52 way, 40s and 50s with solar activity, but this one particular didn't trigger, 28:59 you know, a solar storm impact like the ones discussed. It didn't it it could 29:04 have as we can see. Uh this is Jupiter for scale. There's Earth for scale. 29:09 this thing is massive. So, the the point of me showing you these sunspots is that 이건 정말 거대하네요. 29:14 the sun can generate these massive sunspots and um it's almost like you 29:21 have a ship of the line moving in front of you and it decides to 29:26 do a broadside. Does it do a broadside? Does it not do a broadside? That's the 측면 공격을 가하는 것과 같습니다. 29:30 big question. But the ship of the the best ships of the line, they got a 100 중요한 질문이죠. 29:34 guns on them, 112 guns. You have uh Grand Admiral Nelson there, right? to 29:40 know exactly when to tell his uh canon ears to to fire and it's game over. 29:47 we can get these giant sunspots. And what we are seeing uh with the sun right 29:53 now is that changes in the structure of the sun that's driving these solar 29:57 cycles is now confined to the top 1,00 kilometers of the sun. 30:02 probably more likely that the planets are able to perturb now these layers - 30:08 because it's not as deep into the sun and or uh perhaps this influences 30:15 sunspot generation in way that it can really create these these gnarly 30:20 sunspots. We don't have data for the helioismic at least for this data set 30:24 going back before 1985. Um so we are limited in our observations 30:30 here. But we see that this is possible. And . 30:35 with our power grids being loaded up more now than ever, it's very very 30:40 possible that we were to get that we could get some sort of really intense - 30:45 Carrington impact. Now, the other solar storm impact that you'll see in this 30:48 video, that's the Carrington impact, right? That big EMP happens. You know, 캐링턴 충격입니다. 30:51 you have um the p the telegraph uh operators were actually some of them 전신 기사들 중 일부는 30:56 were able to send telegraphs to each other just using the induced uh 31:00 currents. They unplug the batteries. Here's a more normal chronal mass . 31:04 ejection impact. Way different. Okay, you see that earthmatic field still 방출 충돌의 예입니다. 31:08 stays fairly strong and then the magnetos extends out, rebounds. 31:13 Whereas with the Carrington impact, it's driving tons of activity super super 31:19 close to the Earth, which is obviously a big problem. 31:24 Now uh if we look here, keep in mind that we also have tens of thousands of 여기를 보시면 아시겠지만, 31:31 satellites in space. Starlink itself, SpaceX's uh Starlink has more than 31:37 10,000 Starlink now in orbit. But you see all these other satellites in 31:42 geocynchronous orbit. There are other uh lesserk known orbits. I mean, you see 31:47 this one right there. It's a kind of unusual orbit like that. 31:51 Starlinks are in this low earth orbit zone, okay, where the space station is 31:57 effectively. They're close to the earth or in the upper part of the ionosphere . 32:01 and in the exosphere. But you have all these satellites in geocynchronous 32:05 orbit. Uh you have tens of thousands of satellites now in orbit. We didn't have . 32:11 that with the Carrington impact. We didn't have that in 1921. We also didn't 32:15 have this really in 1989. So now we do. Now we have old power 32:22 grids with new energy demands being placed upon them for all these data 32:29 centers and and of course just regular uh uh 물론 32:35 increases of industry and business and more homes being built and you know as 32:41 it gets hotter more uh AC demands just general things like that. overall energy 32:47 usage is going to go up up up up and up. Um, and they're really not committing to 32:54 putting in the technology that would make sense to power these, which in my 제 32:58 mind at least would be these small modular reactors like a molten salt 33:02 thorium reactor can safely shut down even if everything gets disconnected 33:08 whatever just because of the way uh the physics of it the nuclear physics of it. . 33:13 natural gas requires, you know, the gas to keep pumping and everything and it's 33:17 more part of the old system as well, the old grid. 33:21 So, uh, my dream, uh, this is kind of where I see this coming together. 33:27 don't know like when if etc. These are, um, 언제, 어떻게 될지는 잘 모르겠어요. 33:34 this is just basically laying out the potential for everything and I think at 33:39 some point it will happen. But my dream from a few days ago was uh simple. 33:45 actually kind of hopeful, which is good. But effectively um I was out on this 33:51 massive field. There's almost like 10 football fields all put together and on 33:56 all sides were trees. So think almost imagine like New York City Central Park 34:04 and it's just one giant grassy field, but then surrounding Central Park you 34:10 see different buildings, but it's also like wooded. There's trees and 34:14 everything. It actually looked like a pretty nice place to live. Um, but we're 34:19 out there and we're playing soccer or for those international football, you 34:22 know, we're kicking the soccer ball around and just running around and 34:26 having a good time and it's super bright and sunny out and then all of a sudden 34:31 like it was like and all the buildings 모든 건물에 34:37 lost their power. Now, it's daytime, so it wasn't like a a very striking obvious 낮이라서 아주 눈에 띄게 확연한 변화는 아니었지만 …, 34:42 thing, but everyone that was playing was like, "Oh, like the power grids finally 게임을 하던 사람들은 모두 "아, 드디어 전력망이 마비됐네 34:47 went down." And this the feeling was like we've been "라고 말했어요. 34:51 waiting for this to happen. It was like, "Oh, they finally failed." And it wasn't . … 34:56 at night. So, it wasn't this dramatic thing. And it wasn't like we were 밤도 아니었어요. 34:59 freaked out or now the dream, you know, descended into chaos or anything. It was 꿈 … 35:04 like, "Oh, they finally fa failed." And then we just kept running around and "아, 결국 실패했구나"라는 느낌이었어요. 35:08 playing soccer. So, you know, what struck me about this dream was a how 축구를 했어요. 35:11 vivid it was. Um, I was able to remember it very easily upon waking up. 35:17 usually the more vivid dreams are the ones that are more likely precognition, 35:20 but also the fact that it wasn't this um like apocalyptic scenario or doomsday 35:28 scenario. It was actually almost like a hopeful thing because the sun was . 35:32 bright. It was shining. And we have to keep in mind that the sun is always 35:38 going to be bright and shining. So, let's say we do get this big 35:43 technological failure, right? You're still going to have the sun rise every 35:47 single day at 6:00 a.m. or whatever time, and you're still going to have it 35:51 set at 8:00 p.m. or whatever time, and you're still going to be able to go out 8시에 질 것입니다. 35:55 and do things because the sun is up. It's going to you're going to have the 35:59 weather, right? You're not going to be freezing cold. 36:03 whereas in this like tech society, this new tech reality that's we're being 36:09 pulled into, it's seen as like the end of the world if technology goes away. 36:15 the dream was effectively at least affirming to me that there may be 그 꿈은 적어도 제 …게 36:20 repercussions for this, but we'll be fine. We'll be good. 36:26 But I wanted to share that because we're seeing these changes happen with the sun 36:30 that are confined close to the surface. Uh those changes uh seem, you know, to . 36:37 have been triggered at least back in 1988, 1989, 1990 when we had the last 적어도 1988년, 1989년, 1990년에 마지막 36:45 big solar storm impact that triggered a power grid failure. March 1989, Quebec. 36:52 That was a Saturn uh Saturn Uranus and then a Saturn Neptune conjunction 8889. 37:00 We just had our Saturn Neptune conjunction December 11th or so of 2025. 37:06 We'll have our Saturn Uranus conjunction in 2032, which is 6 years from now 37:12 effectively. Plenty of time for all this to get built out. But if that if those . 37:18 alignments do have an impact on the sun and these changes to the sun are now 37:22 closer to the surface than ever, perhaps this is the conditions that we'll see uh 37:28 another Carrington event unfold. If we go back to our solar cycle progression 37:32 really quick, let's go back to uh the solar cycle that 빠르게 살펴보자면, 37:37 triggered the Carrington event. Okay, so we need 37:41 uh 19 or 1859, right? That was it. Solar cycle 9. 37:49 cycle 10 here. Yeah. Here we go. 37:54 Here we have 18 59. And we want, let's just do uh 38:00 September of 1859. August September. They're both the same. 38:05 Sunspot counts are at about 200. Okay, which is the the maximum for solar cycle 38:10 25 was August of 2024 at 215 sunspots for the month. So, this wasn't a super 38:16 crazy solar cycle. A little bit stronger than average, but basically a normal 38:21 solar cycle, yet it triggered this massive solar storm impact. If you go to 38:31 here's 1921. We want May of Well, let's go back a little further. We want May of 여기 1921년이 있습니다. 38:38 1921. And let me even collapse this a little 그리고 38:41 bit more for you all. Here's May of 1921. 38:48 Sunspot values were only at 37 for the month. It was the very end of the 태양 흑점 수치는 겨우 37에 불과했습니다 . 38:52 declining phase for solar cycle 15. So that was a huge storm. You don't need 38:58 solar maximum to have this happen. If we go to 18 uh 39:05 and we go to March right here, see some spot numbers were 흑점 …수가 39:12 170. So that was a pretty strong solar cycle, pretty equivalent actually to the 170에 달했습니다. 39:17 one that generated the carrying. You see that it launched up there at around 200. 39:22 Again, this is when we had the Saturn, Uranus, Saturn, Neptune conjunctions 39:26 right here. Those specific dates being one more time uh June 6 of 1988 for . 39:33 Saturn conjunct Uranus heliocentric on the galactic center and then July 17th 토성과 … 39:39 1989 for Saturn conjunct Neptune again galactic center they're all three 토성과 … 39:45 clustered together very closely so that's I just my intuition is telling me 매우 가깝게 모여 있었죠. 39:49 that that's an important factor that they were all there in alignment with - 39:53 the galactic center we saw this low frequency pull pulse with the sun. 39:58 saw this storm uh that knocked out Quebec at least for a couple days. 40:04 now we're entering into the next phase of Saturn and outer gas giant 40:09 conjunctions. You know, these icy gas giant conjunctions with solar cycle 25 . 25 40:14 and solar cycle 26. Solar will be at the very beginning of solar cycle 26 around 40:20 then in the ascending phase uh in 2032. 40:27 I just think that um if we were to get a Carrington impact the disruption to 40:32 technology could be a lot more than you may think - 40:37 especially for satellites. There could be deep dialectric charging which cause 40:41 short circuits in these satellites. But you could also um simply get 40:48 increased drag on these satellites from there being more plasma and higher 플라즈마가 … 40:54 overall um the ionosphere effectively expands outwards as it gets ionized. 41:01 it it ionizes and expands out increasing drag on satellites. So you get increased 41:06 drag, you get uh deep dialectric charging and you get you know circuit 41:10 failures and more. It could be a big deal. So, I wanted to uh just give you this update on some of . 42:08 these changes with the sun that are a little uh longer in duration. 42:13 not just like, oh, this week, next week, etc., But over the past few years and 42:19 and decades and we do see this ability from the sun again as I mentioned we do 수십 … 에서 42:26 see this ability from the sun for the plasma to stay very tightly confined. 42:31 doesn't have to spread out. The past two impacts they were thinking okay it's 42:36 going to spread out like normal. Therefore we'll have a G3 storm. 42:39 it stayed very tight going off to the southeast. and it clearly missed us 42:43 because we didn't get an increase in activity at all from this. So, we could 이로 인해 활동량이 전혀 증가하지 않았기 때문입니다. 42:48 get a very strong solar storm to launch. If it launches exactly towards Earth and ** 태양의 활동량이 증가하지 않았고 내부에 갇혀 지낸 상태였어서 --Because the sun's activity did not increase and they had been trapped inside -) 만약 그것이 정확히 지구를 향해 발사되어 42:53 stays very, very tight, it could be a huge impact. That could really have 42:58 dramatic consequences on Earth energetically and on society as a whole. 43:06 So, that's your update for you. I've been Yosfon Burns, geologist, 43:10 geoysicist. Uh, we have a couple super thanks that have come in. I just want to . 43:15 read them off really quick. We're not doing a Q&A today. 43:19 you so much for the super thanks. And, uh, Karine Young, thank you for the 정말 고맙습니다. 43:25 super thanks as well. There is an interview that um I had with Dana Kipple 43:31 on Amelia Ortiz's channel. Then also with Natalie Namaste on Kyle and Leia's 43:36 channel, Heart Coherence Collaborative. You can watch those if you want. 43:40 fun. Uh Anastasia, thanks one more. Thanks again. And Karine Young once more 재밌어요. 43:45 as well. Yeah, huge huge data center projects . 43:49 that are popping up all over and not just in the United States, but also with 등장하고 있습니다 43:53 the UK, many other places. Um, so this could be a very big deal. Uh, Mana or . 44:00 Mona, Mana, two cats, thank you for the super thanks. 모나, 마나, 고양이 두 마리, 정말 고맙습니다 . 44:05 And, uh, Cat Lady, thank you for the generous super thanks as well. 44:13 And Stacy, thanks for the super thanks and for donating some memberships. 44:20 uh, thank you all so much for everybody. Uh, wishing all of you well. 44:25 The the I guess the final takehome that I can say here is that just make sure 44:30 you have some own some of your own power generation, right? If you have if you 44:36 have a home and everything, get 1,600 watts of solar panels at a minimum. 44:41 a basic solar inverter and get a basic battery setup for that. 4 44:46 kilowatt hours, something like that. You could do all that for 5,000 bucks or so. 44:52 even cheaper if you get the solar panels on discount. Ideally, you're getting 44:55 more like 3,000 watts of solar panels, but I have 800 watts personally with a 3,000와트 정도의 태양광 패널을 사용하는 것이 좋지만, 저는 개인적으로 800와트 패널과 45:02 small battery. Much smaller than that. It's like 1 kilowatt hour. Uh it's all 45:05 built in with the inverter. And that's enough to run a fridge, a hot plate that 45:09 could run a variety of things just to keep you going, boil water, whatever, 45:14 right? So, if you have your own power generation, things will be fine when the 그렇죠? 45:20 big one hits. And the the like the risk the chance of 45:25 a big Carrington event not hitting in the 21st century I think is very low. 45:30 think we're almost certainly going to get at least one Carrington event in the 생각에는 |

Hey guys so here's the tea. The planetary geometry end of 2026 beginning of 2027 is very similar/resonate with the geometry active during the Carrington Event of 1859. We have multiple clear lines of evidence for this which taken together paint a feasible and realistic picture of increased probability. We already had a preview of this in January 2026 with the freak solar storm (Bt 91 nT peak) that could have really pushed Earth into unknown territory if the main magnetic structure of the solar wind was simply the opposite what it actually was. Instead Jupiter behind Earth was hit by a near Carrington level impact days after our G5- geomagnetic storm as Jupiter has the opposite magnetic field polarity of Earth. All the big events involve Jupiter in significant ways. More on this in a future update. Whatever happens us Humans will be fine!!
