Then｜the church throughout Judea,｜Galilee｜and Samaria｜enjoyed a time of peace. It was strengthened;｜and encouraged by the Holy Spirit,｜it grew in numbers,｜living in the fear of the Lord.

* strengthen [stréŋkɵ-ən] 강하게[튼튼하게] 하다, 강화하다. 힘[기운]을 돋우다;

증원(增員)[증원(增援)]하다. 강해지다, 튼튼해지다; 기운이 나다.

in [by] numbers : 수에 있어서 수효는 총계해서. grow in numbers : 숫자가 늘어나다

* in the fear of : --을 두려움 속에서

in fear of : ㉮┅을 두려워하여: stand in ∼ of dismissal 해고당할 것을 걱정하다.

㉯ ┅을 잃을 것을 두려워하여, ┅을 걱정[염려]해: be in ∼ of one's life 생명을 잃을까봐 두려워하다.

【문법 사항】 ① 관대 + be 동사의 생략 : the church [which was] throughout Judea,｜Galilee

Aramaic Bible in Plain English : However, the church that was in all Judea and in Galilee and in Samaria had peace, and it was built up and was proceeding in the worship of God and was growing in the comfort of The Spirit of Holiness.

Contemporary English Version : The church in Judea, Galilee, and Samaria now had a time of peace and kept on worshiping the Lord. The church became stronger, as the Holy Spirit encouraged it and helped it grow.

② 단수 - 복수가 같이 사용되었다. : 단수로 보았을 때는 각각의 모든 지역의 교회들로 이루어진 교회를 하나로 보았고[전체교회] 복수로 보았을 때는 각 모든 지역에 교회를 따로 따로 보았을 경우인 것 같다.

New King James Version : Then the churches throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and were edified. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, they were multiplied.

World English Bible : So the assemblies throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria had peace, and were built up. They were multiplied, walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit.

⑤ 부대상황을 나타내는 분사구문 living : living in the fear of the Lord.

* living : 부대 상황을 나타내는 분사구문으로 and it lived--나 as it lived로 바꿔 볼 수 있다.

⑦【동 의 어】fear 가장 일반적인 말로서 다음 말들에 비해 지속되는 경우가 많으며, 비겁 또는 그 반대 행동의 원인이 되는 수가 있음: the human fear of death 인간의 죽음에 대한 공포.

dread 특정한 인물·사물에 접근할 때의 극도의 두려움 등에 씀:

fright 일시적인, 갑작스러운 공포. fear, dread에 비해 ‘자기의 약함’은 암시되지 않음:

alarm 몸에 닥쳐오는 위험을 느낀 갑작스런 불안.

【해석 2】그 때에는 유다와 갈릴레아와 사마리아 온 지방에 들어 선[있는] 교회는 평화로운 시기를 보내고 있었다. 교회는 튼튼해지고, 성령에 의해서 용기를 얻어. 교회는 주를 두려워하면서 (신도) 숫자가 점점 늘어났다./

행09:31 그러는 동안 유다와 갈릴레아와 사마리아 온 지방에 들어 선 교회는 안정이 되어 터전을 튼튼히 잡았고 주를 두려워하며 성령의 격려를 받아 그 수효가 차츰 늘어났다.

31. こうして， 敎會は ユダヤ ， ガリラヤ ， サマリア の 全地方で 平和を 保ち， 主を 畏れ， 聖靈の 慰めを 受け， 基礎が 固まって 發展し， 信者の 數が 增えていった．

31. So the church throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria had peace and was built up; and walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit it was multiplied.
