Rockingham Foreshore
Rockingham Beach Road, Rockingham
This gorgeous park in Rockingham is right next to the beach, but is also shaded by plenty of greenery, and has lots of different picnic spots to choose from. It's close to cafes and restaurants for coffee, public toilets for changing nappies and has several different playgrounds throughout the park

Heathcote Reserve, Applecross
58 Duncraig Road, Applecross
The magnificent Swan River views alone are worth a trip to Heathcote. While it's not as shaded as a lot of the other parks, it does have a café with an undercover area and takeaway kiosk, change facilities and a dedicated toddler playground, plus plenty of barbeque and picnic spots, making it a great baby-friendly option. If you have older children, they will love the spectacular pirate ship playground for kids aged four and over.

Point Walter, Bicton
Honour Avenue, Bicton
Tucked away on the banks of the Swan River in Bicton is Point Walter, a public reserve that is positively baby-friendly. There's a café, barbecues, lots of different picnic areas, change facilities, lots of shade, two playgrounds and shallow water for little ones to paddle in.

Port Coogee, Coogee
Medina Parade, Coogee
With a new Dome café within arm's reach of the man-made beach, undercover picnic tables, barbeques and a water play area, Port Coogee is a great family destination. There are public toilets available, and plenty of space to unravel the picnic rug.

Cockburn Central
Midgegooroo Avenue, Cockburn Central
Just outside the Cockburn Central Train station sits a great little public space with easy access to toilets, undercover areas, coffee and the Cockburn Splash Pad, an awesome way for kids to cool down in the height of summer.

Maylands Peninsula
Johnson Avenue, Maylands
Situated on the northern banks of the Swan River sits the Maylands Peninsula, a stretch of various public spaces where you and your family can sit for a picnic. The area adjacent to the Peninsula Gardens is simply lovely, and great for takeaway coffees and change facilities. Just be vigilant with little wanderers as some parts of the river bank are rather steep.

Hyde Park, Perth
Vincent and William Streets, Perth
Hyde Park is an inner city park situated just a few minutes from the CBD. It is close to cafes and coffee shops, has public toilets, picnic and barbeque facilities and lots of giant, shady old trees to set up a picnic under, or well-kept lawns to park yourself. There are a couple of playgrounds and a water playground for those hot, sticky days when bub needs to cool down a bit.
