참부모경 - 429. 교육사업을 하는 이유

참부모님께서 여러 교육기관을 세워 교육사업에 나선 것은 개인보다는 국가와 세계를 위하는 지도자를 기르고 하나님의 창조이상인 심정문화세계를 창건하는 데 있어서 교육만큼 우선되는 것이 없기 때문이다. 그래서 교육기관마다 ‘애천·애인·애국’의 건학이념을 공통으로 내세우셨고 인성과 전문성을 길러 주기 위해 많은 지원을 아끼지 않으셨다.
 
8 이 세계적 환경을 어떻게 수습하느냐 하는 것이 문제입니다. 그러니까 교육이 중요합니다. 철저한 교육을 해야 됩니다. 축복가정의 남자와 여자가 원리원칙을 중심삼고 완전히 하나되고, 하나된 부모가 자식과 하나되고, 자식과 하나된 일족이 7대를 묶어서 하나될 수 있는 강력한 교육체제를 어떻게 만드느냐 하는 것이 문제입니다. 교육체제라고 하면 둘입니다. 하나는 내적인 교육이고, 하나는 외적인 교육입니다. 내적인 교육은 인성교육으로부터 모든 가치관의 교육으로서 가정에서부터 해야 됩니다. 가정을 중심삼고 그와 같은 교육을 할 수 있는 외적인 학교를 만들어야 합니다. 브리지포트대학이나 선문대학을 만든 이유가 있습니다. 세상의 학교 전체가 부정하더라도 그것을 지지할 수 있는 교육체제를 만들어야 합니다. 대학을 하나만 가지고는 안 됩니다. 일원화된 교육기준을 중심삼고 어떤 대학보다도 훌륭한 미래상이 있어야 합니다. 사회의 모든 피폐된 것을 막고 나서서 밤이나 낮이나 어디를 가든지 비판받지 않고 지지받을 수 있는 환경을 어떻게 만드느냐 하는 것이 문제입니다.
 
9 젊은 사람들은 세 나라 이상의 말을 하지 않으면 안 될 때가 왔습니다. 그래서 바쁘다는 것입니다. 여러분 시대에 못하게 되면 여러분의 아들딸이라도 그런 세계에 동참시켜야 할 어머니 아버지의 책임이 있습니다. 내가 전체를 책임진 부모의 자리에서 만민을 그런 입장에서 대합니다. 그래서 세계적인 대학교를 만들어야 됩니다. 청평에 초종교신학대학원을 세우기 위한 계획을 하고 있습니다. 세계 민속촌을 중심삼고 문화의 전당을 만들어서 세계 만민이 찾아올 때 자기들 고향의 정취를 느끼고, 본부에 와서 하늘나라 궁전으로부터 모든 교육과 훈련을 받아 세계로 돌아 나가야 합니다.
 
10 만약 부모가 자식에게 ‘내가 너를 사랑하고, 너를 위해 수고하며 땀을 흘리는 것은 나를 생각하지 말고 이 나라를 더 사랑하라는 뜻에서이다.’라는 애국지사의 심정을 가지고 교육하면, 그런 부모 밑에서 사랑의 교육을 받은 자식은 부모가 원하는 애국지사가 되기 위해서 노력할 것입니다. 그는 부모님의 사랑을 회상할 때마다 삼천만 민족을 생각할 것입니다. 그리고 민족을 위하는 입장에서 공부할 것이며, 자기 민족이 비참함을 당할 때에는 자기 부모 이상으로 비참함을 느낄 것입니다. 그러나 그렇다고 해서 애국자가 되는 것은 아닙니다. 그러한 입장에 서서 이루어 놓은 터전이 있어야 됩니다. 그래야 그것이 국민이 천년만년 흠모할 수 있는 요인이 됩니다. 그러지 않으면 그것이 다 지나갑니다. 학교에서 어떻게 하든지 제자들에게 올바른 사상을 인계하기 위해 애쓰는 스승이 있다면, 그는 대한민국이라는 국가의 운명을 염려하면서 제자들의 손을 붙들고 눈물을 흘리며 이렇게 권고할 것입니다. ‘나를 위해 순응하지 말고 나라를 위해 순응하라. 나를 위해 잘하는 것보다 나라를 위해 잘하기를 바란다.’라고 말입니다. 이런 가르침을 받은 제자들은 그 스승이 이루지 못한 뜻을 이루어 놓을 것입니다. 이렇게 스승은 자기 생애를 바쳐서 제자들을 위하여 정성들이고, 부모는 자신의 가치보다도 국가와 세계의 가치를 소중하게 여기면서 자식을 위해 정성들이면 그 스승의 제자와 그 부모의 아들딸은 동량지재(棟梁之材)가 될 것입니다.
 
11 하나님이 교회라는 교육기관을 만들어 놓은 목적이 무엇이겠습니까? 여기에 모인 인종을 모아서 교육하고 훈련시키라는 것입니다. 이곳이 훈련장소입니다. 정신적인 훈련장소, 미래의 국민과 가정을 위한 훈련장소라는 것입니다. 교회가 가정의 갈 길, 종족의 갈 길, 나라의 갈 길을 바르게 교육해야 됩니다. 하나님은 교회를 중심삼고 미래의 가정과 종족과 백성을 만들려고 하는 것입니다.
 
12 자기 나라만을 위하는 교육을 해서는 안 됩니다. 국경을 넘어 세계의 모든 사람을 이끌고 갈 수 있는 교육을 해야 됩니다. ‘세계는 하나다. 공부하는 것도 세계를 위해서 한다.’라고 해야 됩니다. 어차피 세계는 하나 안 되면 안 되게 되어 있습니다. 그래서 결국에는 하나가 됩니다. 그런 점에서 교육 내용 가운데 종교 교육이 필요합니다. 그것은 국경을 넘을 수 있습니다. 그다음에 사상적인 교육이 필요합니다. 그것은 세계적입니다. 국경을 넘을 수 있다는 것입니다. 그러니까 사상적인 내용과 종교적인 내용을 겸한 교육이 되어야 합니다. 앞으로 어떤 국가라 하더라도 세계를 위한 교육이념이 뒷받침되지 않고는 세계 인류 앞에 설 수 없습니다.

真の父母経 - 429. 教育事業を行う理由

真の父母様が多くの教育機関を立てて教育事業に乗り出されたのは、個人よりも国家と 世界のために生きる指導者を育てて神様の創造理想である心情文化世界を創建するには、何よりも教育が優先されるからである。そのため、それぞれの教育機関 に共通して「愛天、愛人、愛国」の建学理念を掲げられ、人格と専門性を育むために、惜しむことなく多くの支援をされた。
 
8 この世界的環境をどのように収拾するかが問題です。ですから、教育が重要です。徹底した教育を行わなければなりません。祝福家庭の男性と女性が、原理原則 を中心として完全に一つになり、一つになった父母が子女と一つになり、子女と一つになった一族が、七代を束ねて一つになり得る強力な教育体制を、どのよう につくるかが問題です。
教育体制と言えば、二つです。一つは内的な教育であり、一つは外的な教育です。内的な教育は、人格教育からすべての価値観の教育として、家庭から行 わなければなりません。家庭を中心として、そのような教育ができる外的な学校を造らなければなりません。(ここに、)ブリッジポート大学や鮮文大学を造っ た理由があるのです。
世の中の学校全体が否定しても、それを支持できる教育体制をつくらなければなりません。一つの大学だけではできません。一元化された教育基準を中心 として、いかなる大学よりも素晴らしい未来像がなければならないのです。社会のすべての疲弊したものを防ぎ、立ち上がって、夜も昼も、どこに行っても批判 を受けず、支持を受けられる環境を、どのようにつくるかが問題です。
 
9 若い人々は、三ヵ国以上の言葉を話すことができなければならない時が来ました。ですから、忙しいというのです。皆さんの時代にできなければ、皆さんの息 子、娘でも、そのような世界に同参(一緒に参加すること)させるべき父母の責任があります。私は、全体に責任をもった父母の立場で万民と向き合うのです。
ですから、世界的な大学を造らなければなりません。清平に超宗教神学大学院を建てる計画をしています。世界民族村を中心として文化の殿堂を造り、世 界万民が訪ねてくるとき、自分たちの故郷の香りを感じ、本部に来て天の国の宮殿からすべての教育と訓練を受けて、世界に帰っていけるようにしなければなり ません。
 
10 もし、父母が子女に対して、「私がお前を愛し、お前のために苦労しながら汗を流すのは、私のことを考えるのではなく、この国をもっと愛しなさいという思い からである」という愛国の志士の心情をもって教育すれば、そのような父母のもとで愛の教育を受けた子女は、父母が願う愛国の志士になるために努力するで しょう。その子女は、父母の愛を思い出すたびに、三千万民族(韓民族)のことを考えるでしょう。そして、民族のために生きる立場で勉強し、自分の民族が悲 惨な状況に直面したときは、自分の父母以上にその悲惨さを感じるでしょう。
しかし、だからと言って、愛国者になるのではありません。そのような立場に立って築いた基盤がなければならないのです。そうであってこそ、それが千年、万年、国民が欽慕できる要因になるのです。そうでなければ、それはすべて過ぎ去ます。
学校において、何としてでも教え子たちに正しい思想を引き継がせようと苦心する師がいるとすれば、その人は大韓民国という国家の運命を心配しなが ら、教え子たちの手を握り、涙を流してこのように勧告するでしょう。「私に従うのではなく、国に従いなさい。私のために立派な行いをするより、国のために 立派な行いをすることを願う」と言うのです。このような教えを受けた教え子たちは、その師が果たせなかった志を果たすでしょう。このように、師は自分の生 涯を捧げて教え子たちのために精誠を尽くし、父母は自分の価値よりも国家と世界の価値を貴く思いながら子女のために精誠を尽せば、その師の教え子と、その 父母の息子、娘は、国の中心人物になるでしょう。
 
11 神様が、教会という教育機関をつくっておいた目的とは何でしょうか。ここにすべての人種を集めて教育し、訓練しなさいということです。ここは訓練場所で す。精神的な訓練場所、未来の国民と家庭のための訓練場所だというのです。教会が家庭の行くべき道、氏族の行くべき道、国の行くべき道を正しく教育しなけ ればなりません。神様は教会を中心として、未来の家庭と氏族と国民をつくろうとするのです。
 
12 自分の国のためだけに生きる教育をしてはいけません。国境を越え、世界のあらゆる人を導いていくことのできる教育をしなければなりません。「世界は一つ だ。勉強するのも世界のためにする」と言わなければなりません。いずれにせよ、世界は一つにならなければならないようになっています。ですから、結局は一 つになるのです。
そのような点で、教育内容の中に宗教教育が必要です。それは、国境を越えることができます。その次に、思想的な教育が必要です。それは世界的です。 国境を越えられるというのです。ですから、思想的な内容と宗教的な内容を兼ねた教育にならなければなりません。今後、どのような国家でも、世界のための教 育理念に支えられた国家でなければ、世界人類の前に立つことはできません。

Chambumo Gyeong - 429. The purpose of education

The reason True Parents established so many educational institutions, and continue to concentrate on this area, is that there is nothing more important than educating leaders who can care for their nations and the world. It is the way to create a world rooted in the culture of heart, God's ideal of creation. True Parents established the motto, "Love Heaven, Love People, Love Your Country" as the common founding philosophy for all of their educational institutions. They did not hold anything back, and educational professionals recognize their efforts to elevate human character.
 
8 The question is, how can we save the world? We know clearly that education is important, and that a thorough edu cation is necessary. Our challenge is to create an educational system rooted in the Principle that can perfectly unite husbands and wives in blessed families, unite parents with their children, and then unite and connect seven generations of relatives with those children.

Such an educational system has two primary aspects: internal education and external education. Internal education begins in the family, starting with character education and going through values education. Families providing internal education need to be complemented by schools providing external, family-friendly education, which we must create. This is the reason I founded Sun Moon University and support the University of Bridgeport. We should create an educational system that supports both internal and external education, even if all the other schools in the world try to oppose us.

It is not enough to have just one university. Based on a unified standard for education, our vision of the future should be more magnificent than that of any one university. Through this standard we seek day and night to guard against the problems that impoverish society. Our challenge is how to create an environment that does not arouse criticism but instead engenders support. (312-127, 1999/10/07)
 
9 The time has come when young people should be able to speak more than three languages. Therefore, we are busy. Parents, offer your sons and daughters the opportunity to participate in the areas you could not accomplish in during your lifetime. Standing in the position of True Parents who bear responsibility for the whole, I address all people from this perspective. This is why we must create global universities. We have plans to build a supra-religious theological seminary in Cheongpyeong. We will build a global cultural center in conjunction with an international folk village, so that people visiting from around the world will be able to feel the atmosphere of their hometown, as if they were in their homeland. When they come to this headquarters, they can receive education and training from the palace of the heavenly nation. Then they must return to the world. (319-034, 2000/03/16)
 
10 If parents show a patriotic heart when they educate their children, and say, "I love you and I work hard for you. The reason I am sweating and taking great pains for you is not because I am thinking about myself, but in order to love our nation more than myself." Children who are educated with such love will endeavor to become the patriots their parents tried to become. Each time they reflect on their parents' love, they will think about the 30 million people in their nation and will study with an attitude that they are doing so for the sake of the people. While doing so, when their people are suffering in misery, they will feel it far more than their parents did.

Nonetheless, a person does not become a patriot just by saying that he or she stands in that position. They must make a foundation and, in doing so, become a key figure that people of all ages can admire. If you do not undertake this challenge, all your efforts will eventually pass away and be forgotten.

For example, consider a teacher at a school who makes great effort to convey a righteous teaching to his or her students, and does this while being anxious about the destiny of the Republic of Korea. That teacher would seize the hands of the students and, while weeping profusely, give this advice, "Do not do this for my sake, but do it for the nation. Rather than doing well for my sake, do well for the sake of the nation!" Students who hear such an exhortation will later realize their teacher's unfulfilled desire. If a teacher gives his or her life in this way, in devotion to the students, and if parents devote themselves to their children, teaching them to value the nation and the world more than themselves, then the students of this teacher, the sons and daughters of these parents, will surely become the pillars of the nation. 11 For what purpose did God set up the educational institution called the church? The responsibility of the church is to teach and train people of all races. It is a training camp, a spiritual training camp protecting the families and citizens of the future. The church must accurately teach the path that the family, the tribe and the nation will follow. By focusing on the church, God endeavors to create the family, tribe and people of the future. (106-035, 1979/11/11)
 
12 Education should not be only for the benefit of ones own nation. Education should transcend national borders as it embraces and leads all people. You should think, "The world is one, and we study for the sake of the world." In any case, the world must become one. After all is said and done, it will become one.

Looking from that point of view, from the entire spectrum of education, what is needed is religious education, because it is able to transcend national borders. Next, philosophical education is also needed, because it too can transcend national borders. In other words, we must realize a form of global education that combines philosophical and religious content. In the future, any nation that does not support an educational philosophy that serves to benefit the world cannot stand before the world and humankind. (207-065, 1990/11/01)
