Bible Reading - Proverbs 14:1~12

14:1 The wise woman builds her house, 현명한 여인은 그녀의 집을 세우지만

but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down.

어리석은 여인은 자신의 손으로 자신의 것을 무너뜨린다.

14:2 He whose walk is upright fears the LORD, 정직하게 행하는 자는 여호와를 경외하지만

but he whose ways are devious(정도를 벗어난) despises him. 사악한 길을 가는 자는 그를 멸시한다.

14:3 A fool's talk brings a rod to his back, 어리석은 자의 말은 그의 등에 막대기를 가져오지만

but the lips of the wise protect them. 지혜로운 자의 입술은 그들을 보호한다.

14:4 Where there are no oxen, the manger is empty, 소가 없는 곳에 여물통이 비어있으나

but from the strength of an ox comes an abundant harvest. 소의 힘으로 풍성한 수확이 온다. 

14:5 A truthful witness does not deceive, 신실한 증인은 속이지 않지만 

but a false witness pours out lies.거짓 증인은 거짓을 쏟아내느니라.

14:6 The mocker seeks wisdom and finds none, 조롱하는 자가 지혜를 찾으나 아무 것도 찾지 못하지만

but knowledge comes easily to the discerning(분별력 있는 사람). 지식은 분별력 있는 사람에게 쉽게 찾아온다.

14:7 Stay away from a foolish man, for you will not find knowledge on his lips.

어리석은 사람을 멀리하라. 왜냐하면 너는 그의 입술에서 지식을 발견하지 못할 것이기 때문이다.

14:8 The wisdom of the prudent(신중한) is to give thought to their ways, 

신중한 자의 지혜는 자기의 행위를 생각하는 것이요,

but the folly of fools is deception. 바보들의 어리석음은 속임수이다.

14:9 Fools mock at making amends(고치다, 수정하다) for sin, 어리석은 자는 죄를 속죄하는 것을 비웃지만

but goodwill is found among the upright. 선의가 정직한 자들 중에서 발견된다.

14:10 Each heart knows its own bitterness, 각자의 마음은 자신의 괴로움을 알고 있고

and no one else can share its joy. 그 밖의 아무도 그 기쁨을 나눌 수 없다.

14:11 The house of the wicked will be destroyed, 악한 자의 집은 무너질 것이나 

but the tent of the upright will flourish. 정직한 자의 장막은 번성할 것이다. 

14:12 There is a way that seems right to a man, 

어떤 사람에게 옳게 보이는 길이 있지만

but in the end it leads to death. 그 끝은 죽음로 이어진다.
