나사렛 예수에 대항하고, 예수 믿는 이들에게 신앙을 부인하게 하려고 적극적으로 나서던 사울에게 예수께서 나타나, 직접 들려주셨다(행 26:15)는 메시지다.

이는, 예수 그리스도의 복음이 추구하는 바가 무엇인지를 아주 간결하고 구체적으로 보여준다.

복음은 유다인이냐 이방인을 차별하지 않는다. 십자가에 처형돼 "죽은 예수(행 25:19)"는 그를 죽인 사람들의 바람과 달리 "다시 살아나 지금 우리 곁에 계신다!"

복음은 하느님의 사람들을 무지와 몽매에서 깨어나게 한다.

복음은, 사탄의 세력에게 볼모로 잡혀 사탄의 세력을 편드는 하느님의 어리석은 백성들을 해방하는 예수 그리스도의 능력이다.

복음은, 하느님의 품을 떠나 하느님을 거역하고 하느님의 세계를 찬탈하고 하느님이 만드신 생명을 파괴해 온, 사람들의 용서받을 수 없는 죄와 그 심각성을 인정하고 하느님께 용서를 구하게 하는 힘이다.

복음은, 사람들이 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 하느님께 죄를 용서 받고 하느님이 사람들에게 주신 존귀함을 회복하도록 사람들을 압도적으로 이끈다!

고마운 복음이다. 아름다운 복음이다. 사람들이 피해가서는 절대로 안 되는 복음이다.  
 
"to open their eyes that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may obtain forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been consecrated by faith in me."

This is a message that Jesus appeared and delivered directly to Saul, who was actively opposing Jesus of Nazareth and trying to get those who believed in Jesus to deny their faith (Acts 26:15). This shows very concisely and specifically what the gospel of Jesus Christ pursues. The gospel does not discriminate between Jews and Gentiles. Jesus, who died on the cross (Acts 25:19), contrary to the wishes of those who killed him, “is alive again and is now with us!” The Gospel awakens God's people from ignorance and obscurity. The gospel is the power of Jesus Christ to liberate God's foolish people who are held hostage by Satan's forces and side with Satan's forces. The Gospel is the power that allows us to recognize the seriousness of the unforgivable sins of people who have left God's embrace, rebelled against Him, usurped God's world, and destroyed the life God created, and to ask God for forgiveness. The Gospel overwhelmingly leads people to receive forgiveness of their sins from God in the name of Jesus Christ and to restore the dignity God has given them! It is a thankful gospel. It is a beautiful gospel. It is a gospel that people should never avoid.
