Bible Reading - Proverbs 14:13~24

14:13 Even in laughter the heart may ache, and joy may end in grief.

웃음 속에서도 마음은 아플 수 있고, 기쁨은 슬픔으로 끝날 수도 있다.

14:14 The faithless will be fully repaid for their ways,

믿지 아니하는 자들은 자기 행위대로 다 갚음을 받을 것이요

and the good man rewarded for his. 선한 사람은 자신의 행위에 대한 보상을 받는다.

14:15 A simple man believes anything, but a prudent(신중한) man gives thought to his steps.

단순한 사람은 무엇이든 믿지만, 신중한 사람은 자신의 행동에 대해 깊이 생각한다.

14:16 A wise man fears the LORD and shuns(피하다) evil,

지혜로운 사람은 여호와를 경외하고 악을 떠나지만

but a fool is hotheaded(성급하다) and reckless(무모한). 바보는 급하고 무모하다.

14:17 A quick-tempered man does foolish things, 성미가 급한 사람은 어리석은 일을 저지르고

and a crafty man is hated. 교활한 사람은 미움을 받는다.

14:18 The simple inherit folly, 단순한 자는 어리석음을 물려받고,

but the prudent are crowned with knowledge. 신중한 자는 지식으로 면류관을 쓴다.

14:19 Evil men will bow down in the presence of the good, 

악인들은 선한 자 앞에 엎드러질 것이요

and the wicked at the gates of the righteous. 사악한 자는 의인의 문 앞에서 엎드러질 것이다.

14:20 The poor are shunned even by their neighbors,

가난한 사람들은 이웃에게서도 외면당하지만

but the rich have many friends. 부자들은 친구가 많다.

14:21 He who despises his neighbor sins, 이웃을 멸시하는 자는 죄를 짓지만

but blessed is he who is kind to the needy. 구걸하는 자에게 친절한 사람은 복을 받는다.

14:22 Do not those who plot evil go astray(길을 잃다)?

악한 일을 꾀하는 자들은 길을 잃지 아니하겠느냐?

But those who plan what is good find love and faithfulness.

그러나 선을 도모하는 자는 사랑과 성실을 얻는다.

14:23 All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk(말뿐이면) leads only to poverty.

모든 수고는 이익을 가져오지만, 말만 하면 가난해질 뿐이다.

14:24 The wealth of the wise is their crown, 지혜로운 자의 부유함은 그들의 면류관이나

but the folly of fools yields folly. 어리석은 자의 어리석음은 어리석음을 낳는다.
