어제 갑자기 들린 "독일, 호르무즈에 기뢰 제거 군함 파견 준비" 뉴스에 뒤통수를 맞는 기분이 들어, 독일 현 집권정당이 누구인지 찾아보니 역시나 ‘보수’이었습니다.

폴리티코 유럽판은 16일(이하 현지시간) 독일이 호르무즈 해협에 기뢰제거함(소해함)을 배치할 준비가 됐음을 시사했다고 보도했습니다.

이날 폴리티코 유럽판은 독일 정부 관계자의 말을 인용해 “독일 연방군이 항해 자유를 보장하기 위해 기여할 준비가 돼있다”며 여기에는 기뢰 제거, 또는 해상 정찰 임무가 포함될 수 있다고 밝혔습니다. 독일 연방군은 MJ332형 기뢰 탐지·제거함 10척을 보유하고 있다는 전언입니다.

지금 미 해군은 15일 호르무즈에 함정 12척을 배치, 이란이 보유한 해상 기뢰를 찾아 제거하는 임무에 돌입했는데, 미국 이외에 아무도 도와주지 않는 상황에서 독일이 첫 번째로 손을 들었고 그 독일 현 정권은 보수라는 측면에서 저는 주목하지 아니할 수 없습니다.

독일은 다당제 기반의 의원내각제 국가로, 2025년 2월 총선 결과 중도보수 연합(CDU/CSU)이 제1당이 되어 정권 교체를 앞두고 있습니다. 전통적 거대 정당인 기민/기사련(CDU/CSU)과 사민당(SPD) 외에 녹색당, 자유민주당(FDP), 좌파당, 그리고 급부상한 극우 성향의 독일대안당(AfD)이 다른 정당입니다.

한국은 25년부터 보수의 반대편이 정권을 잡고 특검정국을 아직도 귀따갑게 진행하며 미디어에 의존한 인민재판식 여론몰이가 한창입니다. 제가 특검만 뉴스 타이틀에 나오면 지겨워서 기사 자체를 안읽는데, 어제 우연히 하나 읽어보니 ‘사건 당시 잠만 자고 있었던 목사를 그 사건 배후’라고 특검이 몰아세워 감방에 넣었다가 병 보석 풀려난 걸 어제야 알았습니다.

또한 또 다른 뉴스를 통해 미국이 정동영 통일부 장관이 지난달 북한의 제3 핵시설로 평안북도 구성시를 지목한 이후 대북 정보 공유를 일부 제한하겠다는 방침을 전한 것으로 알려진 사실도 보았습니다. 정동영 장관은 지난달 6일 국회 외교통일위원회 전체회의에서 “영변과 구성, 강선에 우라늄 농축 시설이 있다”고 발언하며 한미 공식 확인 안한 내용을 공개 언급했고 이에 대한 미국 반응과 한국 현 정부에 대한 신뢰 약화가 엿보이는 상황이 뉴스에 나오고 있는 것입니다.

현재 미국 공화당이 집권하고 있다는 측면에서 『거대한 글로벌 보수전선』의 중심 국가는 미국이 될 수 밖에 없는 구조입니다. 특히 2026년 초 중국 군부 최고위직인 장유샤 중앙군사위원회 부주석(군 서열 2위)과 류전리 연합참모부 참모장이 실각/숙청되며 군부 핵심 인물들이 낙마하면서 중앙군사위원회 7명 중 5명이 공석이 되거나 교체되는 가운데, 한국 중앙선거관리위원회에 공식 유튜브 채널에서 중국 공산당 지도자들을 미화하는 내용의 다큐멘터리 영상 2편에 걸쳐 중요하게 나왔던 왕후닝이 당시 서열 7위에서 서열 4위로 건재하며 지난주 대만 국민당 정 대표를 시진핑 주석 다음의 2번째 자리에서 앉아서 대화하는 장면은 엄청난 메시지를 던져주고 있습니다.

미국의 트럼프 대통령도 선거시스템에 지대한 관심을 가지고 있다는 측면에서  『거대한 글로벌 보수전선』은 글로벌 국제표준에 의거하여 검증가능성과 객관성이 시스템적으로 보장되는 선거시스템 확립을 위한 노력이 포함되어야 할 것입니다.

2025년 6월 3일 한국 대선 한 달 전인 2025년 5월 3일 호주 연방선거는 이러한 선거 이슈가 선거시스템 뿐만 아니라 유권자에 대한 정보 투명성까지 확장될 수 있다는 걸 보여주고 있습니다. 그 대표적인 사례는 호주 퍼스 소재 국영은행장의 대규모 뇌물부패 사건이 공익신고 접수되어 밝혀졌으나 앤소니 알버니지 현 총리가 과거 백호주의 당시 원주민 박해 등의 여러 사건에 적용했던 비공개제도를 이 사건에 적용하여 이 사실을 호주 유권자들은 알 수가 없었고 이런 정부 불투명의 상황에서 호주 보수연합세력은 선거에 대패하였습니다.

결국 아이러니하게도 선거시스템과 제반 상황에 대하여 글로벌 측면에서 보수가 더 양심적이고 검증가능성에 입각한 객관성 유지에 관심이 높다는 측면에서, 『거대한 글로벌 보수전선』은 2026년을 비롯한 작금의 환경에서 글로벌 보수의 공통관심사입니다.

경제 흐름만 따지면 미국과 중국의 세계 1위와 2위의 갭은 축소되고 있는 게 현실입니다.

그런데 중국은 특히 2026년 들어 수십년에 한번 벌어질까 말까하는 대규모 집권 숙청이 이루어지며 시진핑 주석과 장성민 부주석 그리고 왕후닝 등만 남게 되어 군 통수권이 1인에게 집중되었습니다.

결국 세계는 단순히 보수의 문제가 아니라 시스템의 문제로 그 관심사와 이슈 선정을 하지 못할 경우 세계 패권의 혼란기에 장기적으로 들어갈 가능성이 높아지고 있고, 이런 측면에서 양심에 의거한 『거대한 글로벌 보수전선』 노력은 매우 중요한 현안이 되고 있다고 저는 판단하고 있습니다.

이러한 중요한 시기에 『거대한 글로벌 보수전선』 측면에서 미국 공화당과 한국 야당의 현안 이슈에 대한 공감대 형성은 매우 중요한 작업이며, 이런 측면에서 장동혁 한국 야당 대표의 미국 방문은 시스템의 복원이라는 측면에서 중요한 노력이었다고 저는 평가하는 바입니다.

이러한 전체적인 그림을 그리고 있는 저 정동희가 다가오는 6월3일 하남갑 국회의원선거에 임하는 노력도 ‘정동희, 그 한국에서의 출발을 하남에서 찾다’ 차원이라는 점을 말씀드립니다.

For the "Great Global Conservative Front" (Zheng Dong-hee Finds the Starting Point in Korea in Hanam)

I felt blindsided by the sudden news yesterday that "Germany is preparing to send mine-clearing warships to the Strait of Hormuz," so I looked up who Germany's current ruling party is, and sure enough, it was the 'Conservative'.
Politico Europe reported on the 16th (local time) that Germany indicated it is ready to deploy minesweepers to the Strait of Hormuz.
On this day, Politico Europe reported, citing a German government official, that “the German Federal Armed Forces are ready to contribute to guaranteeing freedom of navigation,” adding that this could include mine clearing or maritime reconnaissance missions. It is reported that the German Federal Armed Forces possess 10 MJ332-type mine detection and clearing vessels.
The U.S. Navy deployed 12 ships to the Strait of Hormuz on the 15th and launched a mission to locate and remove sea mines held by Iran. With no one else offering assistance besides the United States, Germany was the first to step forward, and I cannot help but take note of this given that the current German government is conservative.
Germany is a parliamentary system based on a multi-party system, and following the general election in February 2025, the Center-Conservative Coalition (CDU/CSU) has become the largest party and is on the verge of a change of government. In addition to the traditional major parties, the Christian Democratic Union (CDU/CSU) and the Social Democratic Party (SPD), other parties include the Green Party, the Free Democratic Party (FDP), the Left Party, and the rapidly rising far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD).

In Korea, the opposition to the conservatives has held power since 1925, and the "special prosecutor" political climate is still ongoing to the point of being annoying, with media-dependent, people's court-style manipulation of public opinion in full swing. I usually stop reading articles whenever the special prosecutor appears in the headlines because I get sick of it, but I happened to read one yesterday and only just learned that the special prosecutor had imprisoned a pastor who was merely sleeping at the time of the incident, accusing him of being the mastermind, and that he was subsequently released on medical bail.
I also saw through another news report that the United States reportedly conveyed its intention to partially restrict intelligence sharing with North Korea following Minister of Unification Jeong Dong-young's identification of Kusong City in North Pyongan Province last month as North Korea's third nuclear facility. Minister Jeong publicly mentioned details that had not been officially confirmed by South Korea and the U.S. during a plenary session of the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee on the 6th of last month, stating, "There are uranium enrichment facilities in Yongbyon, Kusong, and Kangson." The news is now showing the U.S. reaction to this and the weakening trust in the current South Korean government.

Given that the U.S. Republican Party is currently in power, the structure dictates that the United States is bound to become the central nation of the "Great Global Conservative Front." In particular, with the downfall and purge of Zhang Youxia, Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission (second in military hierarchy), and Liu Zhenli, Chief of the Joint Chiefs of Staff—the highest-ranking officials in the Chinese military—in early 2026, five out of the seven members of the Central Military Commission will become vacant or be replaced. Among them, Wang Huning, who was prominently featured in two documentary videos glorifying Chinese Communist Party leaders on the official YouTube channel of the National Election Commission of Korea, remains in his position as the 4th ranked official from 7th at the time, and the scene from last week where he was seen sitting in the second seat after President Xi Jinping conversing with Kuomintang Representative Zheng conveys a tremendous message.

Given that U.S. President Trump also has a great interest in the election system, the “Great Global Conservative Front” should include efforts to establish an election system in which verifiability and objectivity are systematically guaranteed based on global international standards.
The Australian federal election on May 3, 2025, one month before the South Korean presidential election on June 3, 2025, demonstrates that such election issues can extend not only to the election system but also to information transparency for voters.
A representative example is the large-scale bribery scandal involving the head of a state-owned bank in Perth, Australia, which was uncovered following a whistleblower report. However, current Prime Minister Anthony Albanage applied the non-disclosure system, which he had previously used for various cases such as the persecution of Indigenous peoples during the White Australia era, to this case, preventing Australian voters from knowing about it. Consequently, amidst this lack of government transparency, the Australian conservative coalition suffered a crushing defeat in the election.

Ultimately, ironically, given that conservatives are more conscientious and highly interested in maintaining objectivity based on verifiability regarding election systems and general circumstances from a global perspective, the “Great Global Conservative Front” is a common interest of global conservatives in the current environment, including 2026.

In terms of economic trends alone, the reality is that the gap between the world's top two powers, the United States and China, is narrowing.

However, particularly entering 2026, China underwent a massive purge of the ruling elite—a once-in-a-decades event—leaving only President Xi Jinping, Vice President Jiang Shengmin, and Wang Huning remaining, thereby concentrating military command in the hands of a single individual.

Ultimately, the world is not merely a matter of conservatism but a systemic issue; if we fail to select our interests and issues, there is a high possibility that we will enter a long-term period of chaos regarding global hegemony. In this regard, I believe that efforts toward a "massive global conservative front" based on conscience are becoming a very important current issue.

At this critical juncture, forming a consensus on current issues between the U.S. Republican Party and the Korean opposition party within the context of a "massive global conservative front" is a very important task. In this regard, I assess that the visit to the United States by Jang Dong-hyuk, the leader of the Korean opposition party, was a significant effort in terms of restoring the system.
