알레이버크급 유도미사일 구축함 USS Truxtun(DDG-103)과 고속 급유함 USNS Supply(AOE-6)가 수요일 항해 중 보급(해상재보급) 도중 충돌했다고 미 남부사령부 성명을 통해 밝혔다.

USNI News에 제공된 성명에는 “인원 2명이 경미한 부상을 보고했으며 상태는 안정적이다. 두 함정 모두 안전하게 항해하고 있다고 보고했다. 해당 사건은 현재 조사 중이다”라고 적혀 있다.

미 남부사령부 대변인은 이 게시물의 이전 버전 이후, 부상자는 수병들이었다고 USNI News에 확인했다.

Truxtun은 지난주 버지니아주 노퍽 해군기지를 떠나 독자 배치 전력으로서 미 남부사령부 지역으로 향했으며, 이는 해당 지역에서 해군 전력을 증강하는 조치의 일부였다.

노퍽을 모항으로 하는 Supply는 1990년대에 항공모함을 따라갈 수 있도록 건조된, 특수 고속 급유함 2척 중 하나다.

Guided-missile destroyer USS Truxtun (DDG-103) and fast oiler USNS Supply (AOE-6) collided during an underway replenishment on Wednesday, according to a U.S. Southern Command statement.
“Two personnel reported minor injuries and are in stable condition. Both ships have reported sailing safely. The incident is currently under investigation,” reads the statement provided to USNI News.

A spokesperson from SOUTHCOM confirmed to USNI News the injured personnel were sailors following an earlier version of this post.

Truxtun left Naval Station Norfolk, Va., last week as an independent deployer and headed to U.S. Southern Command as part of a buildup of naval forces in the region.

Supply, also based in Norfolk, is one of two specialized high-speed oilers built in the 1990s to keep up with the carrier.
