팝 [쿠키다스와 함께하는 음악산책] Borderline - Chris De Burgh

국내에는 비교적 잘 알려지지 않았던 크리스 드 버그의 명곡입니다.개인적으로 좋아하는 가수이고, 정말로 멋진 가수입니다.

1982년에 발매된 The Getaway 앨범에 수록된 곡으로써 이제는 어엿, 30년이 흘러버린 고전 팝이 되었습니다.

이 노래가 나왔던 시기, 1982년은 영국과 아르헨티아의 포클랜드 전쟁이 발발하면서 많은 사상자와 경제적 손실을

낳았고, 아무런 소득 없이 양측 모두 막대한 피해만 보고 전쟁은 종결되었습니다.오늘날에도 전쟁이 끊이지 않는 것을

보며 반전에 대한 메세지를 담고 있는 이 곡,  Borderline의 끝자락, "How men can see the wisdom in a war"은

이 노래가 나온지 30년이 지난 지금, 우리를 무색하게 만듭니다.
