수상전투함 현대중공업, 페루에서 호위함 1척, OPV 1척, 상륙함 2척 등 4척 수주

현대중공업이 페루 국영 SIMA 조선소에서 3,400톤급 호위함 1척, 2,200톤급 OPV 1척, 1,500톤급 상륙함 2척 등 총 4척의 군함을 4억 6,290만 달러에 현지 건조 공동생산 계약을 맺었다고 합니다. 향후 페루 해군은 호위함 5척, OPV 4척, 상륙함 2척을 추가 발주할 계획이라고 하네요. 

호위함은 HDF-3200 설계안에 기반해 전장 127m, 전폭 14.9m, 최대속도 26.5노트로 AESA 레이더와 대함미사일, VLS가 장착돼 있고, OPV는 HDF-2200 설계안이 기반이며 전장 95m, 폭 14.3m, 최대속도 20노트로 중형헬기 운용이 가능하다고 합니다. 상륙함은 HDL-1500 LCU 설계안 기반으로 전장 58m, 폭 13.2m, 장갑차 7대 또는 20TEU 컨테이너 20개를 운송 가능하다고 합니다. 

페루 해군의 주요 수상함은 1980년 취역한 이탈리아제 루포급 프리깃들이네요. 잠수함도 1980년부터 취역한 209급으로 구성돼 있습니다.

Peru Selects HD HHI For Frigate, OPV And Landing Craft Units

HD Hyundai Heavy Industries (HD HHI) was selected as the strategic partner of Peru’s state-owned Servicios Industriales de la Marina (SIMA) for procurement of one Frigate, one Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) and two Landing Craft Units (LCUs) for the Peruvian Navy.

HD HHI recently announced that it has been selected as the contracting party for strategic partner for four naval vessels totaling USD 462,900,000 including one 3,400-ton Frigate, one 2,200-ton OPV, and two 1,500-ton LCUs from the Peruvian state-owned SIMA.

SIMA will deliver these naval vessels to the Peruvian Navy with the support of HD HHI by 2029. HD HHI will be responsible for the vessels’ design, equipment & material package, and technical support, while construction will be undertaken by SIMA.

Several European shipyards submitted proposal for this project including shipyards from Spain, Italy, and the Netherlands. SIMA utilized a multi-criteria matrix for complex solutions to compare technical solution such as ship design and capability, price, delivery schedule, technical support, and industrial cooperation among other criteria. After a vigorous selection process, SIMA determined that the award be granted to HD HHI which proposed a successful long term partnership with SIMA.

The Peruvian Navy plans to order an additional five Frigates, four OPVs, and two LCUs in addition to this project. Once the main contract scheduled for April is signed, HD HHI will continue its cooperation with SIMA as a strategic partner for the force development of the Peruvian Navy’s capabilities over the next 15 years, with a high likelihood of securing follow-up projects.

Dr. Won-ho, Joo, Chief Operating Officer and Senior Executive Vice President of HD HHI’s Naval & Special Ship Business Unit, stated, “This contract will be a significant milestone for development of Peruvian naval shipbuilding industry,” adding, “We will cooperate with SIMA as a long term strategic partner to develop SIMA and Peruvian industrial capability so that Peru will become a key naval shipbuilding nation in South America.”

The Frigate ordered is based on HD HHI’s HDF-3200 Frigate solution, which is 127 meters long, 14.9 meters wide, with a maximum speed of 26.5 knots and a range of 6,000 nautical miles. She will be equipped with anti-ship missiles, vertical launching system, and an AESA radar to enhance air defense capabilities.

The OPV ordered is based on HD HHI’s HDP-2200 OPV solution, which is 95 meters long, 14.3 meters wide, with a maximum speed of 20 knots and a range of 6,000 nautical miles, capable of operating medium-sized maritime operation helicopters. She is designed with space for two containerized mission modules enabling versatile capabilities. The LCUs ordered are based on HD HHI’s HDL-1500 LCU solution, which is 58 meters long, 13.2 meters wide, with a maximum speed of 10 knots and a range of 1,500 nautical miles, capable of transporting more than seven large armored vehicles or more than twenty TEU containers.
