HUNGRY BURGER
This monster can only be Ritual Summoned with the Ritual Spell Card, "Hamburger Recipe". You must also offer monsters whose total Level Stars equal 6 or more as a Tribute from the field or your hand.
ATK / 2000 DEF / 1850
Here is the first European example of a Ritual monster. Looks interesting and should add some new tactics to your deck.
MESSAGER of PEACE
You must pay 100 Life Points at each of your Standby Phases. If you cannot pay, this card is destroyed. All monsters with an ATK of 1500 or more cannot attack.
You don't own those powerful monsters or just fed up of losing to them? Well with this new spell card you can shutdown your opponent's attacks. Of course you will have geared your deck up to cope with this restriction.
GUARDIAN of the THRONE ROOM
A robot guard built to protect throne rooms, it is armed with homing missiles. ATK / 1650 DEF / 1600
This card has good ATk and DEF for a 4 star monster. This will allow you to both attack and block your opponents moves.

UK Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Unleashed on the UK
This weekend the first UK Yu-Gi-Oh! Championships took place at ThinkTank in Birmingham.
Over 150 of the UK’s best Yu-Gi-Oh! players battled it out for the title of National Champion and the chance to represent the UK at the World Championships in New York on the 10th August 2003.
Queues to participate started to grow long before ThinkTank opened its doors on the Saturday morning, with eager players gathering good and early as they prepared to show off their card skills. Anticipation of the event was high and keen players could be seen swapping cards as they looked to strengthen their decks in the run up to the tournament.
Once the players were registered, they were taken through to the Parents’ Crèche to wait for the tournament to start. As many settled down to practise or watch the Yu-Gi-Oh! Cartoon, the swapping of cards and tips continued, as people kept one eye on the clock as it counted down to the tournament’s start.
At 10am, all players were called in to the main hall. The hall was suitably dressed in Yu-Gi-Oh! finery, with over 35 pictures of the best creatures and characters from the cartoon enhancing the Yu-Gi-Oh! experience. All the players were divided into groups of eight, and for two hours the players battled and showed their skills and that they had what it takes to proceed to the finals.
After the group stage was over most players went to explore the stunning ThinkTank venue and had a great time experiencing the newest and most interactive Science museum in the UK. The 18 finalists proceeded to play each other. With only one defeat enough to put them out of the tournament, the tension rose. At this stage everyone who lost was given a display set of the new Metal Raiders booster paks as a prize. Metal Raiders will not be released in the UK until the 11th July so this was a great chance to be ahead of the pack.
Play continued until just four players remained for the tense semi-final heats. After coming so far the semi finals were both one sided games with Suraj Patel beating Adrian Gordon 2-0 and Michael Rybak also beating Anthony Jordon 2-0. Both losing players won a Gameboy Advance SP and a copy of the worldwide edition Gameboy game plus Metal Raiders sets.
The finals were televised at two locations in the hall. As everyone sat down to watch what looked to be a close and tense final they were treated to one of the fastest games of the day with Michael taking an early victory. Everyone wanted to see if Suraj could pull it level and in a very close hard fought battle Suraj pulled out the win to tie the finals at one game apiece.
Everything rested on this final game. Michael went first and it looked to be going his way before Suraj played it back but them Michael overcame the block and went on to win 2-1.
Michael became the first UK Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game champion and will represent the UK in the New York finals. Both players walked away with a stack of prizes including a copy of every Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading card game product released for the next year.
We all wish Michael good luck and will let you know how he gets on.
Keep battling and we will hope to see you next year to see if you can take Michael’s crown from him.
