D.J. AUGUSTIN 5-11 PG Texas |
If D.J. Augustin is to excel in the NBA he will have to be a trendsetter - there are currently no sub-six foot stars in the League. There is no doubt he has the speed, skill-set and intelligence to play at the next level, but to become a star he will have to be find a way to slay the NBA’s Goliaths. |

D.J. AUGUSTIN 5-11 PG Texas |
The explosive playmaker lacks the ideal height for a lead guard in the NBA, but does possess a very solid frame and top tier quickness. On offense, he usually plays a step ahead of the defense thanks to a quick first step and excellent ball-handling skills. Augustin combines the ability to finish very impressively over taller defenders, with the vision to find the highest percentage basket when passing on the drive. In the half court last season, he received a number of high picks and isolation looks because of his ability to exploit the defense so effectively off the dribble. |

D.J. AUGUSTIN 5-11 PG Texas |
The Pacers have eyed two point guards -- D.J. Augustin and Russell Westbrook -- for a while. If the Pacers were forced to choose between the two, I think they would lean toward Westbrook, who has more upside. His athleticism, defense and ability to penetrate would be welcome in Indiana. ... (But) Westbrook won't be available. That leaves Augustin, who's an excellent fallback option for the Pacers. Augustin is a better floor leader than Westbrook and a better perimeter shooter, and he's more ready to step in and play right away. He should be an excellent fit there. |

A true point guard, passer, leader, but very undersized, who can also score quite easily. |

The Indiana Pacers don't exactly have the most desirable of picks in this year's draft, but that doesn't mean they can't finally get the pieces they need to further along the rebuilding going on in Indy. |

ANTHONY RANDOLPH 6-10 F LSU |
His length and agility makes him very unique playing on the wing ... Highly versatile. He has a vast array of offensive abilities, especially impressive considering his age: Randolph has a tremendous handle and gets to the basket extremely well off the bounce ... A smooth athlete with great foot speed ... Runs the floor like a deer and has amazing fluidity ... Really makes a difficult match up as he's able to use his great length on both ends of the floor ... A high risk, high reward type pick at this stage of his career. He's got a chance to be special, but in turn a higher than average chance of being a bust as well. |

The Pacers would have a big choice to make given the talent on the board at this point. Although there are a number of frontcourt options available and Jermaine O'Neal's future is uncertain, it would be hard to pass up on a point guard of Augustin's pedigree given the injuries Indiana suffered at that position last season, a turn of events that might have ultimately cost it a playoff berth. Augustin might be undersized, but he's got a floor presence too great to ignore. |

ERIC GORDON 6-4 G Indiana |
This is decidedly Gordon’s basement on when he will be selected. He is perhaps more talented than some of the players listed before him, but he could fall victim to the ‘team need’ game. Gordon will be one of the most versatile scorers at the shooting guard position and there is an outside chance that he can develop into a capable point guard. |
Ridiculous Upside |
D.J. AUGUSTIN 5-11 PG Texas |
The Pacers need to shore up their point guard situation so picking Augustin appears to be a no-brainer. My only reservation was the additional need for a big body and DeAndre Jordan sitting there for the taking. So, do you take the big and explore dealing for excess PGs (see Memphis and Chicago for starters) around the league? Or, do you take the safe pick at the point in Augustin then let the offseason wheeling and dealing begin? I just can't shake the feeling that Jordan tilts more towards Michael Olowokandi than Dwight Howard and the Pacers just can't miss with this pick. |

Is he too small? The Pacers' dire need for a point guard persuades them to gamble on Augustin. |

D.J. AUGUSTIN 5-11 PG Texas |
The Pacers really want a point guard to replace Jamaal Tinsley, and there are only two choices. Russell Westbrook is a project and is not a pure point guard, so if Augustin is there, then there's no doubt the Pacers will take him. Augustin is a player who is capable of being an effective starting point guard immediately in the NBA. He can't improve his height, but Augustin does need to improve his long range shooting. |

D.J. AUGUSTIN 5-11 PG Texas |
Augustin lacks height at only 5-11, but does have a solid frame and will be able to handle the rigors of an NBA season. With the point guard position their most glaring problem, Augustin should move right in and help sooner than later. |
이제와서 보면 픽의 활용도가 높아진 지금 이 Monk Draft는 의미없는 것일지도 모르겠네요^^;;;
