15:23 A man finds joy in giving an apt(적절한) reply--and how good is a timely word!

사람은 적절한 답변을 주는 데 기쁨을 찾는다. 때에 맞는 말은 얼마나 좋은가!

15:24 The path of life leads upward for the wise to keep him from going down to the grave.

지혜로운 자에게 생명의 길은 위로 향하게 하여 무덤으로 내려가지 않도록 해준다.

15:25 The LORD tears down(헐어버리다) the proud man's house 

여호와께서 교만한 자의 집을 헐어버리시지만

but he keeps the widow's boundaries intact(손대지 않은).그는 과부의 경계를 그대로 지키신다.

15:26 The LORD detests the thoughts of the wicked, 여호와께서는 악한 자의 생각을 혐오하시지만

but those of the pure are pleasing to him. 순수한 자들의 생각은 그에게 기쁨을 준다.

15:27 A greedy man brings trouble to his family, 탐욕스러운 사람은 그의 가족에게 문제를 가져와도

but he who hates bribes will live. 뇌물을 싫어하는 사람은 살 것이다.

15:28 The heart of the righteous weighs(무게를 달다) its answers, 

의인의 마음은 대답을 신중하게 생각하지만 

but the mouth of the wicked gushes(쏟아내다) evil. 악한 자의 입은 악을 뿜어낸다.

15:29 The LORD is far from the wicked but he hears the prayer of the righteous.

여호와는 악인을 멀리 하시지만 의인의 기도를 들으신다.

15:30 A cheerful(활기찬) look brings joy to the heart, 밝은 표정은 마음을 즐겁게 해주고

and good news gives health to the bones. 좋은 소식은 뼈에 건강을 준다.(뼈의 건강에 좋다.)

15:31 He who listens to a life-giving rebuke will be at home among the wise.

생명을 주는 책망을 듣는 자는 지혜로운 자들 가운데 거할 것이다.

15:32 He who ignores discipline despises himself,

규율을 무시하는 자는 자기 자신을 멸시하는 것이요,

but whoever heeds(유의하다) correction gains understanding.

징계를 잘 듣는 자는 명철을 얻는다.

15:33 The fear of the LORD teaches a man wisdom, and humility(겸손) comes before honor.

여호와를 경외하는 것은 사람에게 지혜를 가르쳐 주고, 겸손은 명예보다 먼저 온다.
